People don't understand the craziness of this video, the elephant is fucking articulating visually an elephant holding a flower in it's mind then physically attempting to articulate it with a paint brush, many humans fail even to do this with themselves without getting their body size proportions wrong.

There was a review of this video somewhere... snopes.com I think. It said that the elephant seemed to be repeating a learned sequence of strokes. Still, it's amazing, the ability remember such specific shapes. Whether it can recognize the shapes or not, that's what I'd like to know. :)

Elaphants are not supposed to do this shit to make people happy. of course they are smart, it doesn't really surprise me they can do that. they don't get anything from hours of practicing on a 60$ painting that they're owners are making. instead of making me happy, it made me sad.

There are non-profit Elephant Art and Conservation projects that have their funding aided by cruelty-free artwork.

according to snopes its a hoax, the elephant doesnt do this on his own, it is cool that the elephant is moving but under direction of the trainer. which shows as the trainer is giving directions the elephant can follow the directions precisely with it's trunk. But the story that the elephant does this on it's own is a hoax according to snopes

This makes me think. Who are we to judge animals and their ability to feel think and and express emotion? We may be the ones that can speak and stand on two legs but this shows the depth of a animals reasoning and understanding of us as well.

I first saw a low-res version of this vid and thought it must be fake. I have studied the way children learn to draw, and these pictures are very advanced, showing the high intelligence of these magnificent animals. Amazing.

I believe that elephant was trying to add a little flair to his show and drawing.

The concentration was very noticeable in its face. He had a little dance going and a flair thing with the truck. Reminded me of comedians I've seen. LOL
