  • . So I just wanted to say hope it goes well and, I am starting up a Chanel of my own, with a theme son and every thing, so please watch a couple episodes and if you like them could you... possibly...subscribe..please. Also I actually used exactly 500 characters in the last post, you can count them if you want, but remember, the spaces count.

  • I hate e-readers, they are just so-impersonal, once you actually read a book on one, you realize that books have personalities, they are like narwhals and you should cherish them. What you should get is the Kymera, it is a remote control magic wand for a TV and it is so cool, I have one, easy to program, but you have to get the hang of the motions, and don't think I didn't notice that harry potter poster on your wall, I know you like magic. also I only have 0 characters remaining after this word

  • I hate e-readers, books are great for me, i love having the actual pages to turn. it's nice having one thing to get me off the computer. I love actual books with all my heart, and i will never start using e-readers as long as i can get physical copies of books

  • Ereaders suck

  • I got a kindle for christmas and I love it, since its so much ligter for school since I can carry tons of books in an 8 ounce thing, meaning my shoulder isn't screaming as much as it did last year. But I still love the smell of books, the smell of musty library books and the fresh smell of new and unopened books. What I'm going to do is read single books on my kindle and buy the "real" ersions of books in series. If a book has just come out in hardback, i will get the hardback version (TFIOS!)

  • I have a Nook and I use it for just quick, light reading, but for books that I care a lot about, I'll buy a physical copy.

  • As long as books aren't REPLACED, I am fine with e-readers. In fact, I'm considering getting one, but I don't know. I love books so much...

  • @CakeBeneathTheIcing You should definitely get a Kindle or Nook. I have a Kindle and it by no means replaces my books. I probably use my Kindle about half the time and actual books the other half. I would recommend getting one for anyone who can afford it.

  • just do what i do buy both i get a hold of a book when ever i can

  • About the end of Buffy;

    I turned to fanfiction.

    Just sayin'.

And I like books. Real Books.

  • here's a solution. by used books. this way it is cheaper and its basically like recycling the book, which saves more paper than buying a new one.

  • I just got a nook, and the first thing I did was re-watch this video.

  • I sort of prefer books to the Kindle (e-reader), since I always like re-reading parts in books and it's far easier to look through a book than through the Kindle pages. For me the Kindle is better, though, since I tend to flick to the end of the book when I'm still reading it for the first time. It's easier to handle too, since you don't need to hold it open or anything.

  • e readers are cool!

  • Did you get an e-reader? I have a kindle, and my bf has a kobo touch. I love my e-reader. It's portable (I used to carry like 3 books with me at all times), and I find I read more now. I still buy books (I work at a bookstore)-one of my co-workers is now a consultant for kobo in toronto. The book industry is definitely leaning towards e-books, look at how borders went bankrupt-and fenn publishing in canada also went bankrupt. I own so many books (and I can never part with them).

  • Mafia party!

Don't get an e-reader. Get alot of stuffed unicorns. And a Jhon Green pizza shirt.

  • i have a nook its awsome the cases you can get are awsomr too

  • At the beginging im saying its Doctor Who. Am i right?? wrong??

  • I love my kindle!

  • Love me e-reader and use it everyday. I'll still keep copies of my favorites in real book form :)

  • I use the kindle, and I LOVE IT!

  • For some reason all I could think of in the beginning was Torchwood

  • Muse poster :DDDDDDD

  • E-Readers are good for people who travel alot, i generally use it when im on the bus..., but i always buy the book in hard cover anyways so the whole saving trees thing doesnt really apply to me.

  • your life is weird........, but in the awwwwwww, so cool way

ereaders ........nook ok, kindle is great....but given the variety of stuff and flexibility (web browser, email, various apps) on the ipad, i stick with it

    books ....reusable, paper is recyclable.....

  • your life is wierd........, but in the awwwwwww, so cool way

ereaders ........nook ok, kindle is great....but given the variety of stuff and flexibility (web browser, email, various apps) on the ipad, i stick with it

  • SO I was thinking, perhaps the ZAXY crew could come over to Boston in 2012 for PAX East, then do a whole compare contrast for everyone.

  • I love reading books, just as well as collecting them. I think technology goes a bit too far with books, considering people I know don't like reading. Books, paperback and hardcover, holding them in your hands, turning the pages, smelling them, collecting them, looking at the covers in your book shelf, is a wonderful feeling that should never be taken away. Have electronic books is like getting a cone with no ice cream on it. Terrible! But people will start buying, now that it has internet.

  • your voice goes higher toward the end of every single sentence you say.

  • your voice goes higher toward the end of ever single sentence you say.

  • will you shut up! God why do people like this shit

  • My Kindle is my prized possession. :)

  • I love my Kindle, i like books to but its so much easier to carry 3000 or so books with the kindle instead of carry a backpack full around with you

  • The add on the side is for an eBook.

  • I started watching Buffy because of you. Thank you so much for that! The show has been so inspiring and amazing. I just wish I knew about it before my senior year of high school.

  • I'm sad that physical books may be replaced. There is just something about the feel of turning a page, the scent of parchment- adding another tale to your growing personal library etc. I understand how the e-reader is really functional: it is easier to carry (not as heavy in your bag), you can hold many stories in that one reader, it can be nice for the environment, and there are no pages to get crumpled. But books have been around for centuries- I don't want to lose them to technology too. :'(

  • @AdemiaDavenport You won't lose them because of technology think about theater it should have been ruined when movie were invented but they weren't its still going strong.

My mum has a kindle and she still has books (she literally has thousands of books) she just uses her kindle to read on when traveling and such.

    Cheers

  • @AdemiaDavenport I dont want to sound mean,my mum told me this.People thought MP3 players would replace CDs and people do buy them,But CDs have yet to disappear! I LOVE books and didnt want to get an E-Reader,but than my mum got one and I saw what it was like and really liked it. Books will NEVER get replaced cause SO many people love them! They'll be around forever. E-Readers are just here for now. Ive also bought actual books that I read and loved on the E-Reader !

  • @fishfingersncustard Well, then, watch that, AND Serenity, AND Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

  • e-readers are much better you can carry your favorite books with you anywhere you go.

I read e-books at my PDA all the time.

  • I WANT YOUR POSTER. MUSE <333

  • book pages? more like freshly inked parchment!! yeah! yeah? no.... *shuffles to the corner*

  • I have a Kindle and I love it, I still read books but I love them both and you can get tons of free books for the kindle...Love it

  • I'd like to be an E-reader 'cuz it's lighter and I can carry it around with me anywhere rather than a heavy book or something like that.

  • The obvious response to the Buffy issue is... well, prolong it with the Season 8 comics.

  • Uggggh... I live in Canada and I'm visiting Orlando in April.

I wish playlist LIVE was then. :(

  • You remind me of Meekakitty...kinda...not really...lol fail...

  • Holy crap.

When I watched this the first time and heard about Playlist LIVE I thought nothing of it because I live in Maine and have no money, so I assumed I wouldn't be going.

    But.

    I just won tickets.

Holy crap, I'll be there. <3

  • End of Buffy? There's Angel or Firefly, or reading the novels of Dorothy Dunnett

  • OMG you like Muse??? You have very good taste in music then!

  • god i hate it when alien hunters are after me, totally ruins your day doesn't it

  • ff7?

  • oh, lord, I finished Buffy to days ago!!!! Luckily, I have all teh seasons of Angel, so just watch that :) IT WORKSS!!!!

  • I felt the same way and then i got a kindle and i absolutly love it. its like carrying around 50 books at once. do it!!!!

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • go for it. I have a kindle and just the free classics makes it awesome. I still love books but m kindle certainly makes my purse lighter, since I'm the type to bring at least 2 books everywhere I go. I still buy "real" books.

  • you look like emma stone.

  • i would say get it...i have a kindle and its really cool and usefull. and like neondreamscollide said, you get 100 FREE clasics books. so yeah.

  • Get the E-reader. I prefer Kindles, but I haven't really had a chance to play with a Nook, and you don't need the 3G unless you travel a LOT. But the Kindle and Nook bits as well as the parts with the 3G are just my opinions, but I suppose if you have an Amazon gift card you have to go with Kindle. Bottom line here: GET THE E-READER!

  • I have to say... get an e-reader. Yeah I went there, but I recently got one and it has saved me SO much money. The books you buy for an e-reader are less expensive because you don't have to pay for the hardcover and stuff like that. Also, if you go on an airplane trip or something and you want to bring more than one book, your bag doesn't have to be weighed down with a million pounds of book. hahaha I say go for the e-reader, even though I love classic books :)

  • MUSE POSTER IN THE BACK <3

  • Kindles are amazing. Books on the Kindle are cheap (I live in Canada, so that's a plus), and it's much easier for when you're traveling to carry around a super-light Kindle rather than books. Plus, you can put music on the new Kindle for background noise if you like listening to music while you read. I have the new Kindle but I also have regular books. I used to not like E-Readers but now my kindle is one of my possessions that i would dive into a burning building to save.

  • You can download books for free and it will still being awfull, believe me r.r

    Dont do it r.r

  • Wait, what? WoW?

  • I love my e-reader (the Nook) and I really would recommend it to anyone. I thought I would miss the books as well but the feel of holding a book was supplemented with the leather cover that I bought (i'm such a klutz i was afraid not to get a cover) and the smell of the paper is missing but w/ my allergies sometimes thats a good thing & my Nook has totally paid for its self well worth the investment for both your wallet and the environment (but there are some books that i still get books for)

  • don't get a kindel i dont think that you can get harry potter on one!!!

  • @asherwizz You can't get the Harry Potter books (legally) on any E-Reader. J.K.Rowling hasn't approved the electronic publishing of her books.

  • I loooooove/adooooore holding a book, reading a real book...smelling a book o.o but I have to say that read books off of an iPad and it's extremely convinient and easy and I just love it.

But I still love the smell of a slightly warn in book.

  • @TheSilverNotes Love smelling a book? I just bought some course literature cheap as fuck from India. For some reason, the paper used for printing 1) is bible-quality thin, and 2) smells like raw sewage. I wish I was kidding :(

  • @jarlz0r Dammmnnnn that sucks...and is really weird.

  • Buffy cope-age; Read the season 8 comics? It's not the same but it's cool. :] Watch Serenity or Dollhouse? Eat lots of ice cream? o.o Actually I was recently told that mixing that really unhealthy energy drink Monster with Vanilla Ice Cream is really good. So, yeah. Try that out perhaps?

  • I suggest you watch Buffy's spin off series Angel. It's amazing! It's how I dealt with finishing Buffy. You should also watch other Whedonverse shows like Dollhouse or Firefly.

And I actually have an Ereader and I really like it. I still prefer normal books, but Ereaders are great for when you're travelling. My Kobo Ereader can hold 1000 Ebooks and you can buy SD cards to hold even more. The only major problem is that they don't have Harry Potter in Ebook format yet :(

  • @JustDoNotBlink Is your username a Doctor Who reference? ;D

  • @NerdGlassesFTW or harry potter

  • @CaptainJamesTKirk22 like a parsletoung like harry potter

  • After watching Buffy, either watch Angel, or live in denial and just try not to think about it. Nights are the hardest. Eat a lot of ice cream. You can also watch season one over again. But there really isn't anything to do about it once all of those resources run out. There will be a lot of crying.

  • I personally am not a huge fan of e-readers, but basically only the concept. I'm a die-hard hardcopy book fan, and I REALLY don't like the idea of replacing childrens' books with e-readers. Mostly I'm against e-readers because I fear for the future of book stores as we know them...

  • there is season 8

  • FANFICTION.

  • E-readers are kinda hard to use sometimes, and you cant get confused about reading a book, but you definately get confused about using an e-reader

  • Buffy season 8 and 9 are in comic book form if you're interested.

  • I am also very undecided about e-readers. I love books and dream of having my own room full of books that I've read over my lifetime when I'm old and grey. Like you I love the smell of them and also that its obvious which books are my favourites by how thumbed they are. But I can also see that there are many situations where an e-reader would be perhaps more practical and of course it would be a way to save paper. They aren't too expensive and can last for a long time I presume sooo... I dunno!?

  • The best way to cope is to find some other kind of series to obsess over. And no E Reader. BOOKS SHALL LIIIVE!

  • I wouldn't get the E-Reader. There's nothing like reading a book in the bath, and this would be impossible to do with an E-Reader because if you dropped it, that's a very expensive peice of kit gone along with half of your library.

  • i love books. I have a lot of them. I also love my Kindle! You can get classics for free.

  • I coped with the end of season 7 by a) rewatching the entire series for the 4th time since last spring when I first finished it. And b) reading the season 8 graphic novels. You should do that! (Reading the books, not rewatching. That's optional.)

  • I have a kindle, and I read books on my iPod too. I still love real books, and read them more often, but when you seriously CAN'T wait to get a book you want at the library or at the bookstore, it's great to be able to get it instantly.

  • There's a lot of free books that come with the kindle. I personally don't have one but people that I know that have them LOVE them. I have yet to hear anything bad about it from someone. And my friends that have kindles still read regular books too.

  • Watch How I Met Your Mother....Alyson Hannigan, Anybody?

  • @HermioneTimeLord46 XD yes! also, i just want you to know that your username may soon explode from the awesome levels.

  • @windchimes098 hahahah thnnx! <3

  • dont get it if you dont like it you will have wasted you mony !!!!

  • Watch angel after buffy! You'll love it just as much and it'll be like buffy never ended. The name of the show is actually Angel investigation

  • got a nook and love it sooo much!! i use it everyday!

  • I got a kindle for Christmas and eventhough it's not back lit it's real god and enyway you can't read a book in the dark :)

  • I was just as reserved about ereaders as you but I got a nook for christmas and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it

  • oh my god i had the same problem with buffy ending! what really helped was knowing that there was 5 seasons of angel.. and also the CRAPPY comic books that u should never read. ever. they made me cry at their awfulness. On the bright side, Joss also has a lot of other shows like Firefly and Doll house, and if that isnt enough, just pick up your favorite Harry Potter book in the series and read away your sadness(:

  • eReaders are totaly worth it, but dont get an Amazon Kindle. they arent back lit so you have to buy a cover with a light or a seperate light and its a hassle. I have a nook and i love it. its back lit and the battery lasts a really long time. I got it for Christmas and charged it full that day and its now Jan 15 and i still have alf a battery or so. Definatley would go with a Nook, or one or borders eReaders, or anything backlit really ^^

  • i use to read books on my itouch and even my laptop all the time. I recently went to the optometrist and he said this was a contributing factor to my poor eyesight.

but i love to read books when i'm laying in bed but if i lay on my side i find it really hard to actually turn the pages of the book and read it properly. However if i use an e-reader it's much more easier to read.

  • I have a kindle and an ipad, and I've read e-books on both. Whilst turning electronic pages on the ipad is super cool, you cannot beat a real book. I've also found that e-books tend to have more annoying spelling and grammar mistakes than printed copies. But having an e-reader is useful, cause you can't carry lots of heavy books everywhere - so when I go travelling, I'm probably gunna take my kindle. Its not for everybody, but its worth a try x

  • there really is no way to recover after finishing Buffy the only thing that really works is starting over from season 1 again haha the books are decent but kind of shock you out of the Buffyverse you are used to i wish someone would just make a Buffy spin off like the later years :(

  • Well, I got the AmazonKindle for Christmas and I adore it! It's not replacing books for me, it's just saving me space, money and making it easier for me to have a book in two places due to divorced parents. I say, get an e-reader, try it out and see what you think. It won't be a complete waste of money, because if you find a book fo a ridiculous amount, the e-readers normally have it cheaper. The only downside is that they don't have Harry Potter one them. :(

  • HELL NO. stay with physical books.

  • If you get something like an e-reader i think you should get the kindel

  • Coping with Buffy: GET INTO A DIFFERENT SHOW. Seriously, it's the only way I knew to cope. Though now you could just start reading the Buffy Season 8 comics. :D

  • I definitely had your exact feelings on the Kindle, but I have one now and love it. I think it's really important to realize that we generally just like the smell and feel of books because we associate it with reading; not because those things are so great in and of themselves. Now there's something new to associate, and that will take some adjustment, but it's definitely worth it. It's actually way easier to hold and read. You should definitely give it a try. :)

  • I have a Kindle and I was very disappointed with it. It doesn't load as fast as I would like, the screen is too small and the navigation system with the little joystick is way annoying. I wouldn't recommend it, but it is sort of something you don't know until you try :S

Also, I've been watching your videos for a while and I'm a big fan! I think you're very clever and pretty. Happy new year.

  • i have a Kindle, got it for christmas! it's really good and at first i hated the idea of it but now I actually think that it's worth every penny. Plus, I still use normal books! I would never ditch those lovely things :)

  • I have the Kindle, and it's nice. (I'm 15) I bring it to school, and it's so much easier carrying it around.

  • My mum got a Kindle & has been driving me absolutely crazy! She keeps going on about how amazing it is... I'm not kidding, every second word that comes out of her mouth is "kindle". She loves books & reading & takes it everywhere! We were out for a meal the other day & didn't understand something on the menu. She whaps out her kindle & looks up the word.

I'd already looked it up on my phone... But she was so proud of herself.

So basically, my mum's oppinion is: Get a Kindle!

  • I say Nay to the E-Reader! D:

  • I have kindle, and I lovee it. I get a lot of free books off it, and It is nice for travelling and its nice when ur a college student who has to carry around a bunch of books today, the kindle adds like..no weight and you can still read.

and i love regular books too. people buy them for me all the time. when u buy a kindle, it doesnt mean u cannot buy a regular book. people act like when you buy a E-Reader you are not allowed to buy a actual book anymore. haha.

its worth it. i love mine. :)

  • E-readers might save paper but paper is easily reusable and trees grow relatively fast. Get second-hands if you prefer ;p. Plastics, aluminum, silicon, batteries and other electronic stuff and processes aren't that sustainable.

With an e-reader, you won't be able to show impressive book shelves in your background, but it will be easier for you to move.

E-readers are convenient when you read because you don't have to "stay in the light"

  • i love buffy!!! i watched the whole show episode by episode on neflix. the ending is pretty good. i already have an e-reader. i got a nook (barnes and nobles e-reader), i love it.

  • Given the rise of cancer and unexplainable deformity and disease, not to mention know effects of radiation at "safe levels," of course growing paper trees and allowing the earth to do what it was meant for is better than toxic waste and deformity.

  • I got a kindle. It's nice, you get lots of free books, and it allows you to highlight, takes notes, follow blogs, and you can even access the web. I'm 14, and using an e-reader. But,l books are always nice. Another dependent is if your library offers e-reader books. Also, if you want to try one out, you can go to the store, or if you've got an iPod touch, (or iPad) you can test it by downloading the Kindle app for free.

    (But I'm a total nerd...)

  • Id say Dollhouse if you've never watched it. Its another great sci fi show with a really awesome plot

  • Are e-readers bad for your eyes?

  • I can understand why people like E-readers but I personally like the feeling of having the real deal in my hands. There's just something about the paper and the ink. Plus wouldn't electric books start to hurt your eyes after a while?

  • I have the nook (: e-Readers are amazing!!!

  • On coping with the end of Buffy, I'd suggest either watching Angel from start to finish or you could buy (or download, if you prefer) the Buffy Season Eight comic books which are absolutely fantastic. <3

  • I read a lot of fanfiction to cope with Buffy ending. I like to pretend that certain things didn't happen in the series. You can also start on the comics of season eight as well.

I have the nook. I like it better than the kindle simply because of it's design and also because of my loyalty to BArnes and Nobles. It has been a great toy. I am 23 and I know a few people my age that have them, as well as an 82 year-old woman. There are certain books that I need an actual copy of and other's not.

  • I have the nook and I love it. It is a cool toy. There are some books that you just need to hold and other's you don't. I have many friends that have kindle/nook ereader's. I started reading tons of Buffy fanfiction after it was over. The comics for season eight are decent as well.

  • Get the nook color. Its more than just a basic ereader and is much faster than a normal reader. It plays angry birds. :D The nook color runs $250. Darn. Go to best buy and check it out for yourself. I use my ipad all the time.

  • I'm wondering too and, I'm at the same standig as you. I have 140 for walmart (unfortunatley I prefer target). BUT I think they sell nooks and eReaders

  • since you do a lot of travelling because of your fame and everything, I think it would be really helpful.. and I love Falling Up :) I've had my copy since I was about 5. I also have Where the Sidewalk Ends <3 dftba

  • Kristina, nearing the end of Buffy never gets easier.... I have watched the complete series' about 5 times (including when I was a kid and it was on TV) and it still feels like a small part of me dies every time it ends... and i know that is weird. Also, I could not deal with an e-reader myself, reading text on screen makes me dizzy... DFTBA =D

  • Read Season 8 comic books!!!! DO IT!!!! Darkhorse comics = awesomeness :)

  • E-readers are fabulous if you read a lot. I have one and they're brilliant. They feel like holding a real book and you can keep your fave books in real book form but like if you're going on holiday you can have 100 books on one and so you have more room for packing (:

and certainly in england the books are like £1 cheaper than buying actual books (:

and if you're anything like me your house is running out of room to store any more books (:

  • I tried using e-readers and they're great for portability and what-not but, I HATE, and this may sound crazy, that all of the books; their pages are the same size. Like all of the books on the planet are now a standardized size and that's it. Also I miss pages...

  • I love how i feel like we're having a conversation when i watch your videos. You will have an amazing year. I envy pretty much everything you do! x

  • I was singing 'Hey Molly' and right as I sang the word 'dance' you said 'dance'.... I found that a pretty awesome coincedince

I don't like e-readers... I mean half the thrill is turning the page and building up the excitement... but with e-readers it just seems so cold and not personal. And just holding and smelling and looking at books just I dunno- make reading books better... I like going and buying real books. I just think the e-readers take away some of the fun and feeling of reading.

  • I recently realized a good reason for disliking e-readers. (I did just not want one because I want to hold a book.) You can't share books with e-readers. I love sharing books. When my friends read a good book, they'll offer it to me. But now one of my friends has an e-reader and I was like "Oh, can I borrow that book after you?" and it's like nope, it's a kindle.

  • Actually, the whole e-reader production process and the factories or wherever they're created, and their batteries and the waste they gonna be after a few years are much more polluting and harmful to the planet than a book. :)

  • I have an Amazon Kindle. I only ever use it when I have no room to pack books with me. It's handy to read on the bus to work or school. It's also great when I go on trips. Other than that, it collects dust.

  • I just got a Kindle today. People who are against them really need to give it a go. You can always buy a hardcover of a book you particularly love.

But, really, once you have 200 paperbacks lying all over the place, wouldn't it be nice to have them all in something the size a small notepad? It's Exceptionally convenient, easy to use, lightweight, has a built-in dictionary. There's a lot of positive things to say and I used to be against them.

  • I was completely against E-readers, but then my mum got one for christmas... and to be honest it is really really cool. Being able to have a hundred books (and more i think it just came with a hundred already loaded for free) in one light easy to read space is fantastic, obviously it's good for travelling. I don't think it really completely replaces books yet, and maybe it never will, but it's certainly a compact way to read five books at once.

  • I haven't got an e-reader yet because I love having books. However, I think they'd probably be good for travel (and stop the 'I don't really need to pack clothes do I?' debate when packing). Given that you go on tour it might be useful.

  • I have a Kindle and I don't use it too often. When I'm in a bookstore, I like to browse and look at popular books that are new. You can't do that with a Kindle.

  • paper is a renewable resource. The plastics and toxic waste used to make electronics are a hazard we do not know the full effect of. Also, printing keeps people in jobs.

  • @Dudly999 "Keeping people in jobs" is a tired old argument always used to try and hold back technology. Witches and soothsayers lost jobs when meteorologists came along. People who shod horses lost jobs when cars came along. Factory workers lost jobs when robotics came along. That's no reason to evade technology.

And are you seriously arguing that cutting down billions of trees is better for the environement than putting all your books into a digital format?

  • I love my nook color a lot. I read on it everyday and I tried the kindle and I hated it because it was so boring and not fun to use. I would highly reccomend the nook color by far.

  • I say get it. You get over 100 free classic books with it and it's great for travel. Reading is still reading no matter what platform you use. And I wouldn't worry about the whole "kindles are going to take over the world" thing. Books will last forever.

And as for Buffy... I say if you haven't already, go on to Firefly and Angel. Also, see if there's a way you can acquire the Season 8 books.

  • @neondreamscollide buffys ok and firefly really good but angel sucks, badly

  • i was real like books and my mom got me a e-reader for Christmas and after reading one book off it i really love it!!!

  • I say do it. When you buy the kindle you get over 100 free classic books along with it and it's great for travel. Reading is still reading no matter what platform you use!

  • I don't know which device is best, but check out what kind of book supply the different companies have. It doesn't matter how good the e-reeder is if there's no good books.

  • I have had a nook for 8 months and I love it. It uses e-ink so it affects my eyes in the same way that a book would. I tend to travel a lot and it lightens my load when I want to take several books with me. It's really user friendly and you get a ton of free classics. I recommend it. Holding a book is great but there are many books I only want to read once, so buying a hard copy is a waste unless I really love it. Plus if you get an Oberon Design cover its like holding a leather bound book.

  • i dont like E-Readers much tbh it jus doesnt feel the same as holding the book

  • Well I received a Nook for Christmas and, to me, it's exciting,,,yeah sounds weird but I have read more books in the past week than I have in the past month. I LOVE it. Plus I'm really unorganized so it limits the mess :)

  • I've never used a kindle, but I don't want to. I just love books. How do you want to build up your own library with a kindle? That doesn't work. And you can read a book without using any energy and fix it with a bit of tape if it breaks up.

Books can last for generations. A kindle will definitely not.

  • I want a kindle, but I love having the actual book. my aunt says that kindles are amazing though. because you can have books and magazines on them and I think they're a lot cheaper than an actual copy from a store.

  • The e-reader/Kindle is a good alternative to books for travel, etc -- but, it'll never replace books. Though did you know that the Amazon Kindle operates with magnets??? It's so low tech, yet high tech, yet not. :)

  • I remember when I finished Buffy. I curled up in a ball on my bed due to the withdrawal. Then I realized I could watch the episodes again and again with Netflix. :)

As for e-readers, I have been pondering that very predicament for months. My friend got a Kindle for Christmas and I've really enjoyed using it.

I love my books, but I have a habit of buying REALLY old books that I'm afraid to even touch.

So I still don't know what side I'm on, but I think I'm going to cave and get one soon.

  • what People dont know is that the screen is bad for your eyes that is way more people wear glasses i say stick with your old book and turn the screen off when you can pluse thank of all the people that would have no jobs if we go to ebooks if people would just recycle there papper we would save some trees

  • I got a Kindle for Christmas....and I'm obsessed. I was slightly opposed for the same reasons you stated, but I've been won over. It's amazing to be able to buy whatever book you want in the middle of the night and instantly begin reading it. People who say it's losing part of what makes books so wonderful...honestly, I think they don't grasp the true value of books. It's not about the package it comes in, that's for sure.

  • I'm afraid that the world is going to far with electronic advancement. Personally, I don't want my children to never know what its like to read a paper book, or write in a notebook.

  • The cons of getting an ebook:

Books come from trees, but kindles use electricity. If you reread a lot, normal books might be better for the environment.

Normal books have a special feel and smell that I find cozy.

I'm sixteen. My parents got me a Kindle for Christmas this year. I'm using it, but I'm also keeping my regular books. I hope this helps.

  • The pros of getting an ebook:

Ebooks use less space. With an ebook, you can have hundreds of books in a small space. To have the same books in paper form, you would need more space and it would be a fire hazard.

Ebooks are expensive, but the books you buy for them are cheaper than normal books, so you would save money in the long run.

    To be continued.

  • you're excuse about trees is bullshit... what about the fossil fuels that will get used up and burnt to power the battery to run you're E-Reader every time you wanna use it. where as with books generally tree's are grown specially for that and are replanted afterwards....... when our energy sources change to something not so retarded then ur excuse would be sound

  • why did it take you so long to get through buffy? i did it in a few months annnnnnnnd just watch angel. i heard its amazing, but i havent watched it just yet

  • why did it take you so long to get through buffy? i did it in a few months

  • @queenmoon93 w00t! <3 castle! have you seen firefly? nathan fillion plays like the exact same character, only now hea a space pirate...

also, if you remember the halloween episode, his 'space cowboy' outfit was what he wore on firefly. my father enjoys referring to him as 'captain tightpants' lol

  • Okay, so if you haven't gotten you e reader yet, I will suggest to you the KIndle. The most exciting thing that I experienced with it when I first got it was all the free classics! The whole collections of Shakespeare are free!!! And a bunch of other classics that I just kind of feel like I should have read. Also, when you have like 500 books you're reading, it's great b/c you can take all of them everywhere w/ you and the cover doesn't deteriorate.. that happens to me. Well... not any more!

  • team books!

  • I have a Nook, and I love it. One thing great is that it is light -- so if you finish one book, you can just open another. Nook (and Sony) are books that you can actually use to check out e-books from your library. Kindle is not able to do this, due to their proprietary basis. I love my Nook completely. HIGHLY Recommend. But don't get the colorNook. Get the e-ink. It looks like paper
