yeah. I agree with you. I think the rumors had a reverse-psychology effect on people. I mean, the first things heard are usually far more accepted than the truth that comes in late. The possibility of not finding a huge drifting rock in space that will come to hit us in a matter of 4 years must be very slim. We have satellites and observatories - far more advanced that what ancient people had. If there really is one, governments must be working 24/7 to anticipate that (mass evac. systems, etc.)
an asteroid is going too hit either in 2026 or 2036.
