well, done. i wanted to ask a question. i've been learning fiddle for a good year. i've progressed quite a bit, but one day, i heard someone playing a viola. after a bit of searching, i found a really good deal on one and bought it. i knew violas were far-less common than violins, but as I learn more about them, i keep seeing a lot of negative conotation towards violists. i was wondering what you thought. i liked the nice, warm, tones of the viola. thanks!
@surfer1124 I play viola, so I may be biased in their favor. They are underused in folk music and fiddle music. On many tunes you need to take the part an octave down. For a beginner this may be challenge. Good luck!
@Grassapelli Thanks! Yeah, I've got a few fiddle tunes that I'm working on. When you get a chance, do you think you could post a video or two on the viola? Approaching it as a "how to" video of sorts, I think would be really helpful. There's a lot of videos teaching fiddle and violin, but I can only find about 5 on youtube that teach viola. Thanks!

@Grupovenuseventos I don't have this handy. It's copyrighted property of Adam De Graff.
Here's a starting point for finding it:look for Adam De Graff on YouTube.

You, my friend, are awesome! How long have you been playing violin? I can't wait to be able to play like you do... You're awesome :)

@ungusfungus More than 50 years now, but still, violin is not my strong point. I put my fiddling chops a little higher.

@surfer1124 Good idea about the viola video. I didn't know viola students were so under served. It's going to the top of my list.
