i hate to be "that guy" but new against me doesnt hold a candle to any gaslight anthem.I still love new against me, dont get me wrong, but they've lost a lot of what they used to be, see a live show of theirs years back and they had so much energy, now you see them live and tob gabel acts like he doesnt give a shit. blame the fans being pricks and not appreciating his music or whatever, but they just arent the same now. Again, i still loved "White crosses" but old stuff is better.

They aren't punk to me. Maybe Sink Or Swim, but to me the Gaslight Anthem is just a great rock and roll band with great influences. And it shows. I'm a dedicated listener to the greatest young rock band out there.

'59 Sound = One of the better albums I've heard in a long time.

American Slang = A great follow up to a practically perfect album.

I love all their songs but "Meet Me By The River's Edge", "Boomboxes and Dictionaries" and "Say I won't (recognise)" are my favrouite and I just love the lyrics "Sally sais, Sally said I can't take no more regret... Meet me by the river's edge we're gonna wash these sins away or else we won't come back today. (i know I think all their songs (including sometimes you eat the bar (sometimes the bar eats you).
