ahh i am truthful i like old animes more than new one the storys are better and the old drawing style is beautiful ok and you remember your childhood so well i like them more most of the new ones are crap its hard to find a good anime but not impossible sure new animes can be great too but you must search hard for them

Whether it's due to a plot that tries to be too original it's extremely far-fetched and not enjoyable or an anime that's cliched to a point. But you know, I really don't mind stories that have already been done. It's very VERY hard to be original these days and bringing something new to the table doesn't always go over too well.
@OMGahooly As long as the show is done right, I could care less if it's old or new really. But on another note, I am a huge sucker for old animation--that's strictly preference. It gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside that you talked about. I'm glad you did MKR. I think the series is kinda stupid now but as a young teen I was all about it! The soundtrack is very blah...but I love those OP themes :)

While wikipedia says that Puffy Ami Yumi is an "American-Japanese" cartoon, it was created by Sam Register and made entirely in an American studio. Not to mention its first language was in fact English, even if it had random Japanese sprinkled into the skript. The show was based off real Japanese pop stars, though.
@fu40000 While my opinion may be unpopular, I don't consider Avatar The Last Airbender an anime either. Even if it were an anime, that would make The Boondocks an anime too, but you don't see fans of that series fighting tooth and nail for its "anime status" because, contrary to popular belief; anime isn't the end-all-be-all of animation, so I don't see why fans of Avatar even bother to get anal about whether that series is an anime or not.

She noticed I had a Digimon shirt on and she generously gave me some VHS tapes with anime on it. It had Generator Gawl, Fushigi Yuugi and the second season of Rayearth.
I remembered how breathtaking the animation for Rayearth was and that was when I got into anime full swing.
