  • @battleship, rowing is one of the toughest sports. 3-4 morning practices a week? We have 6 morning practices a week 4am wakeups.

  • @battleship12 ...don't get me wrong, i know that crew is a really tough sport but how do you know that you work harder than any other team on campus? it's true, a lot of teams at emory are not too talented and don't put in as much work as your program. i know swimming, for instance, has 3-4 morning practices per week (depending on the swimmer) and all afternoons, plus a meet or workout on saturday. they work extremely hard and earn their respect

  • There is nothing misleading about the video. Within the first 10 seconds, the words "Emory University crew is a student-run program" are uttered. We don't need fancy kilogram barbells to get fast. With our status, we are free to row against other club or varsity programs. Rowing isn't about perks. Thanks for your concern though.

  • This video is a little misleading. Emory crew is NOT a varsity sport, they are a club team. They are not recognized as varsity athletes on campus and do not enjoy many of the perks that other sports teams do...such as access to the varsity weightroom.
