Gratulálok ehhez, meg az After Midnight-hoz is! Hol vagy hogy tanultad a Gopakot? (Valamikor szeretnék ebbe is belekóstolni, azért kérdezem, most jazzre járok.)
This solo is fantastic!!!!And these jumps!!!!!Very very good!!!!this dancer is Hungarian and I am Hungarian too....We can be proud of such a good dancer!!!
You guys are both kinda right though. Technically this is the Taras Bulba, but the Gopak and Hopak thing are both right depending on the region you are from. Referring back to your Uki alphabet you'll remember that the "Guh" and Huh" (G & H) both look almost exactly the same depending on the style of script you would write with. Many name changes and word changes would result from this simple mistake. But to be a bit more specific using a "G" is much closer to the Polish border!
Firslt of all, it's Hopak, not Gopak. I know, I'm Ukrainian and do Ukrainian dancing. Second, that's not a Hopak, that's just a soloist dance with some moves.
Dear Scorero23! I try to be honest with You. I did not try to dance Hopak, because I can't do it. I know that Hopak is an Ukranian folk dance. I was dancing a classical variation from the ballet called Gopak, what was shown in 1941 in Moscow for the first time. In the classical ballets the folk dances are always stylized, so don't wait original folk art, from a classical dancer.
That was you? A magnificent performance! I used to dance like that. (Yak ya hoolow). I can't do it anymore. My knees pop, and my balance is off. Take my advice, Delbo, don't grow old. I used to enjoy doing the "Kozakski", I can't do it anymore. Please, continue our tradition. (I still have my red boots). Mno Haiya Lita, my friend. And let me know when you have another video. Slava i Susu Christu, =Stefan=

I'm sorry, I correct myself. The Ballet's title was Taras Bulba.

Taras Bulba! Like the Kozak? Anyway, why then is it a typical Ukrainian dance costume?
