  • I feel at peace when I listen to any LRB song.

  • buglebogue........me too

  • fabulous! THIS is the band I loved over 30 years ago.

  • Right, Leerily66, John could not sing this song even though he really tried. I cringe when I listen to John's version. Glenn always was what made the group. He was a fantastic voice that spoke to the heart and soul. He was very good-looking, sensual and had a controlled sexuality that attracted us women. Yeah, John was "cute" and wiggled nice but it was Glenn that made the group and generated the great attraction esp of the females. He always sounded like a man in love w/ his girl singing

  • Nice harmonies...this is the Real LRB...

  • This brings back very strong memories of my 18th year of life. How your mind wonders at that age. It takes me back there easily.

  • Who is it now that owns the copyright to "Cool Change"?

  • Man these guys sound great. BSG needs to tour North America again. nevermind that wannabe slap together band they call LRB these days. It takes these 3 on the stage for those harmonies.

  • This is the real Little River Band! Ignore the band currently touring as The Little River Band!

  • You guys are the best.......wish u would tour the usa and canada......thanks for the memories!

  • I have a very cool change..Lucinda,my new little grand daughter

  • i can see Glenn on the ' bright clear waters'. With all due respect, I cant see J Farnham there, no matter how much I like him, and I do.

  • Damn. They are amazing. There is ONLY ONE Little River Band....And this is it. Accept no imitations...

  • This is pretty good - but the Goble, Byrtles, Nelson, Farnum version of the band was a lot hotter - better vocally.

  • Point 1: I love listening to these guys, even if glenn has lost some vocal prowess. Point 2: Many like to make it look like the now-touring LRB are the bad guys and these guys are the good guys. These "good guys" sold their rights to the LRB name for an $80,000 buyout each. Point 3: B, S, and G can tour anytime and no one can stop them. They can sing all the songs, but they cannot use the LRB name. I don't really think they care to tour at their age, because it is not a fun way of making money

  • Gees, if Shorrock is sounding that good then get all the rest of the original line up ( which was always the best anyways) and tour for Gods sake!! These guys are sounding fantastic!! The harmonies were great!! Please!! Don't compare Farnham or Nelson to Shorrock, it's not even close. This Is LRB, always was and always will be. Nobody should be allowed to sing this song but Shorrock, it freaken hurts my ears when either of the other two sing it.

  • In every video I've seen Beeb in, he sure seems to be having fun. Great video!

  • its in ur heart

  • you definately need beeb and graham for those background vocals that ARE the true LRB. and of course glenn on lead.. accept no substitutes....

  • Glen was the leader...it just sounds better with Glen

  • it still makes me feel both good and bad,i still hate whale hunters

  • I only know few songs from ;ittle river band and i only want them sang by glenn shorrock

  • Comment to everyone, I seen the revised little river band recently with Wayne Nelson at the helm and it was fantastic. I have been a Lrb fan forever and this mix of musicians will not let you down. Wonderful show. This particular performance seems a bit shaky to me. He has lost the strenth in his voice and the wind in his sails so to speak. This is my one of my favorite Lrb songs and they are both good. Do not hesitate to see the Lrb band as it is now live.

  • Well glen is at least 65 years old, birtles is in his early 60s and gohbles is in his 60s too...these guys are unconparable to the phonies called LRB in the USA, this is LRB, I was in the front row at this gig with my partner and they were legendary

  • @kenaibo Might be a great show but these are the guys who wrote and originally recorded these mastepieces. The others are just a bunch of impostors that happen to have the right to the use the name. A right which was by some accounts attained by less than honorable means.

  • there is only one lrb goble, birtles and shorrock. greetings from holland arie veling

  • I saw the "fake" LRB last weekend in Charleston, SC. They were HORRIBLE..not even a decent cover band. Wayne Nelson can't sing at all and the harmonies were terrible. Three of the "band" members weren't even born in 1975 when they began.

Lawyers and Legal issue - too bad - Birtles, Shorrock and Goble are LRB, not these phonies. Ads even showed video clips of the original band- that can't be legal.......

  • My wife and I of 31 years saw them at music hall in cincinnati in 1980,it was great then and these men are great now.I wish they would come to the states just one more time. These three are LRB.

  • i think about the sea, whales and how much the japs fuck up

  • Whenever Shorrock sings this song the crowd always gets quiet, out of respect. I don't know anyone who doesn't love this song. It really hits home, even brings a tear to the eye.

  • LRB was THE quintessential Australian band - and one day Australians will come to not only realize this, but, more importantly, realize just what it was this band was as a talent.

AC/DC, Sherbet, even Aussie Crawl, all had their moments, but they NEVER had the consistency and sheer artistry of these unsung Aussie musical heroes.

    Long gone, but never forgotten.

  • consistency? LRB had more lineup changes than you could poke a stick at and why? Overinflated egos.

ACDC have been going strong now for nearly 35 years and apart from one bloke before Bon Scott and one since they have been more consistent than any. They are also the largest grossing Australian musical act (apart fromt he Wiggles) and have been for the last 20 years. Not to mention that they ROCK!

  • The 1983 live version with farnham is better.

Especially with all the harmonies from Goble, Beeb, Nelson & Farnham.

    "Over Singing" my Ass!

  • Great stuff!!

  • I don't know much about the comings and goings of the members of LRB...the only thing I can say is that Glenn Shorrock is the "voice" of this song and he does it beautifully. Thank you so much for posting this version!

  • Saw Glenn Shorrock early January and he sounded great live singing all the LRB classics.

  • Farnham ain't Shorrock. And anyone other than Shorrock shouldn't do this song IMO. This is a nice live jazz influenced blue tinged version - Shorrock is always good when he stays in his vocal range. Like all singers, he has at times gone out of his range, and strained a bit. Thanks for sharing.

  • Here frigging here.

  • Much like a very very good wine, Glen just keeps getting better. THIS is the Little River Band I want to see, and not the band touring as the Little River Band. Come on guys and go back out on tour!

  • Amen and Hallaluyah! GSB is LRB!!!

  • saw LRB 2 years ago at a casino, they still sound great no matter who is lead singer now. I think the only orignal member left i saw was the bass player.

  • He isn't the original bass player. He stole the rights to the LRB name. He has also tried to sue Glenn, so he cannot use the name of the band he created and mad successful. if you want to see the real LRB try to see these guys. They are the originals.

  • @crowdedenz87 yeah this nelson is a greedy human being and sings horrible....

  • Well the problem with any version of Little River Band that you may have seen in the last 15 years if that it did not include ANY of the orignal members. I live in a small town, and the imposter line-up has been here twice and I could have walked to the venue but didn't bother. You should accept no substitutes for the real genuine LRB - which due to some legal shennanighans lost the rights to use the name of the band they founded. They are now Birtles, Shorrock & Goble.

  • @sethodowd

I understand your point but I have to disagree 100%. The newer band is keeping the music alive and that is important. I recently met Foghat with only one original member in the band and they blew the place away. The music has to stay alive.

  • @longtalltexan63 keeping the music my ass!!!! come on man!! we all know Nelson is fucking bastard ,he should be ashamed of what he was doing,, the original LRB cant defend themselves because Nelson is touring in his own country, hes getting money and praises for the songs he didnt make,,what a shame,,

  • @lordeowyn

Well, I don't really know any of them so who am I to say....

  • Can't get any better than this!

  • Is that Tony Soprano?

  • good to see ilike lrb very much thai fan

  • I argued with a guy who insisted that LRB did not sing the original. I told him that Glenn Shorrock and LRB wrote and recorded it and he was adament I was wrong but couldn't 'remember' who did, other than that it was "some bald guy". I emptied out my pockets and told him the 'bald guy' was Glenn Shorrock and either put his money where his mouth was or shut up and listen to the best original version of the song coz he was cruelling my mellow! He shut up.

  • THIS is LRB!

  • After watching almost ALL of the LRB posts, seeing all of the personnel changes through the years makes this version of Cool Change exceptionally significant and special and also historic...Thank You Mr. Mutt1967 for sharing this GEM with rest of the LRB loving world!

  • P.S. before somebody corrects me, I do understand the naming rights issue...but it's all LRB to me!

  • Yes, this is the ORGINAL BAND MEMBERS. The others were weak IMO.

  • I'm so glad they did this...surely it should be sung by Sharrock. And if it didn't sound so much like him, we might need a dna test

to prove it. Man, he looks different. Rock

    on LRB

  • So, what's the deal?..... I've seen the LRB about 10 times over the last few years... and this lineup was not the one I've seen....I knew Shorrock was one of the originals.... but both versions are fantastic....what gives?

  • The current cover band version, legally stole thru a loop hole the copyright for the name. I wouldn't pay to see a cover band.

Imagine if some guy aqquired the copyright for the beatles? He could get three others friends together and start playing crappy version of there hits. They could sign beatle photos and make money touring.

  • The REAL Little River Band!! Thank you so very much for posting this. These guys still got it.

  • Thanks for this wonderful live performance. Classic Australian Rock from those times.

  • great song.

  • so very cooooool song...
