  • that is right t these animals arnt made to pull light things they are happy healthy horses!!!! and they love to this just like any other horse sport if they dont want to pull they wont.

  • I love these vids. We have 4 teams atm, and they LOVE to pull. They actually get quite frustrated and stressed when they don't pull for a few days. We set up a pull in our field for them to 'play' on. They are so happy and excited to get in there and work. Its as natural to them as tracking is to a bloodhound. If they don't work, they don't live a full life. These horses are well loved and well treated, you can tell by their body language they enjoy life.

  • Horses that are worked regularly and compete in competitions are better taken care of than people in third world countries....better than some people in this country. This is not cruel; when they aren't pulling they are being pampered.

  • i have a family member that has several pulling horses. one pair of his horses pulled 11,000 pounds quite easily. i love watching him work the horses, those horses are massive, even the lightweight ones.

  • Look at the power, You could say they would be sore after that but im sure they're well looked after afterwards which would prevent any soreness. Def not cruel!

  • They horse most got legs problem.. when they being older !! :S

  • draft horses can do anything any other horse can. theyre just stronger ^^

  • wow

  • Belgians are beautiful! Belgians are the world weight lift champions of the horse world! Hope this breed never dies out!

  • comparing the power of a pit bull to a clydesdale is rediculous. for one that horse is born and bred to do one thing, and thats pull massive amounts of weight. i bet a pitt bull couldnt pull 300lbs of dead weight on sand. i am 6-2 275lbs and i honestly dont see any pit pull pulling me across a beach. sorry its simple physics.

  • it wuz done on sand

many people should be able to get to 11000 on sand

  • yea sand makes it easier but 11000 is still a pretty good load

  • yeah on rails with wheels. those horses can pull ten times that if it had wheels!

  • well that pit bull weighed around 70 lbs.....draft horse weigh 2000-2500 lbs...

the horse weighs 30 times more than a pit bull.

so 10 times more you think.....wow

  • i love my drafts. u oviously love your dogs. u should go to a horse pull and see it. it is very exciting! i have pulled a 10,000 lbs tractor out of the mud. exilerating i'll tell ya. sounds like u need some horses to have fun with. lol

  • agreed.

yes i am going to go see some this summer. i live in montana, so we have a bunch. my parents have 4 horse but they arent draft. ive never cared much for riding..more of a dirt bike guy, but pulling weight with them would be amazing!!!!

do only draft horses pull? obviously they pull the most, but could i do some fun stuff with my parents horses?

  • whats that 420 stand for there bro!!! lol

  • check out the newest video in my favorite..horses pulling truck out of a ditch

  • Pulling a sled on the ground is alot different than pulling something on a rail. When I powerlifted I could leg press over a ton(Leg press machine is on a slide/rails) yet I could only squat 550 or so.

  • wow!

  • Do the horses look uncomfortable at all?

  • i love it when my mare pulls. she's also a belgian and 18 years young and 18 hands :]

    love her to death !

btw, love the video. the horses are gorgeous.

  • Does anyone know what breed of horse is pulling? Georgeous.

  • their Belgian draft horses

  • I just wandering if there is any competition where the horse pulls while there's a rider on it?

  • no.the horses need to focus on pulling and not carrying someone on there back

  • sorry i had to post my comment in 3 different posts...in should be read from bottom to top...i posted it incorrectly...

  • ...the "driving" seen on here is not infact driving...it is a bunch of large men shouting commands to make their horses pull-- i am not being hypocrytical...well maybe a little =). i am not against horse pulls, i am not a psycho peta idiot, i just wanted to let everyone know, just as in any sport there is a drawback to it.

    thank you.

  • unfortunatly with heavy pulling like this, the horse needs a good fast start thus often times slamming into the collar.

most of you probabally have no clue as to anything that i have just typed...but for those special few that are skilled in or know about the art of driving...know that it is truley an artform...you must constantly fenesse to make it perfect

  • there is a downside to this kind of pulling. Over time slamming into the collar as seen in these videos can cause severe shoulder damage...especially if the horse backs out of the collar multiple times. ideally the horse(s) should lean into their collars to get the load moving. . lots of times it take the younger horses a while to just learn to lean.

  • soooooo sad.

  • horses and other animals are in a sense much like poeple...they enjoy having a job...if they dont have a job they get depressed...if those horses didnt want to pull they wouldnt...dont be an idiot think before you type!

  • Draft are bred to pull heavy things we got 12 of them we use them for pulling huge logs out of the way pull wagons and carts it does not hurt them

  • Did they look like they didn't wnt to pull it, sora? No, they anticipated it. So if they enjoyed it it is therefore not mean.

  • its not cruel. its only cruel when the horse is tired and it cant pull the weight and you yell at it. Most horses are excited to pull it.

  • YES HE ITS RIGHT HORSES ARE FOR HORSE AROUND AND PULL BULL SHIT POUNDS lol

  • ya, making animals do what they were bred for, how cruel lol please, its far more cruel to leave horses that are bred for a specific task in a barn or paddock for their life. those horses LIKE pulling, good luck trying to pull 11,000lbs with horses that hated it.

  • Thats Mean To The Horses!

  • BCNTC is absolutely right. THese animals are having a great time - they get excited - too excited some times to do this stuff.
