When police get tased, there are EMTs on site. The floors are padded. Other officers are there to “spot” the officers.

YOU don't have an EMT to monitor your heart conditions. There is no one to prevent you from landing on the concrete, busting your head, losing your teeth. A real-life tasering is nothing like this police academy show.

If they had real means of crime prevention we would have a safer community. no the argument is that the taser has a place in situations where the alternative is potentially lethal force. Like when someone is threatening people with a knife, a taser will make him drop it and fall so he can be restrained, whereas if someone charges a cop with a knife, what choice do they have but to shoot him which is very likely to kill
