@WNxAtlas Desktops are better than laptops always, if you keep your laptop on a leash than your using it wrong. Laptops are good for LAN parties though.
@ligerman30 Desktops are WAY better than that indeed. If you are one that likes to go on LANs, then I dont think a lagtop (Yes, laGtop) would be something to look at. mITX and mATX would be better for serious gaming. However, you are given a powercable for a reason, you cant expect to run a gaminglaptop without the powercord.
Im not sure the exact setup of that system. The 5730 is rated at 26 watts TDP, so if it is possible you will need to find a card that has the same or similar TDP rating to ensure your system can cool the card during operation.
@Scorch052 don't know much about various laptop models but i think the motherboard on your current laptop which was made to house a mobile version 4250 would bottleneck the dual 6970's.
As far as I understand it is not possible. The HD 4250 is an on board GPU that cannot be removed and replaced as it is integrated into the RS880M chipset.
The fourth heat sink is there to increase the air flow within the enclosure and therefore increase the cooling capacity of the system as a whole. The system supports desktop processors which require a good deal of cooling power.

Wha...wait what was that? No seriously, that little thing that you did there at the end? Why???

Hello I have a laptop asus n61ja with a video card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730. Please tell me I can replace it with something more powerful.
I apologize for any grammar mistakes, I'm from Ukraine:)
MrIERICHON 5 months ago
@MrIERICHON
Im not sure the exact setup of that system. The 5730 is rated at 26 watts TDP, so if it is possible you will need to find a card that has the same or similar TDP rating to ensure your system can cool the card during operation.

can i put this on my acer 4820tg?
jufri840615 6 months ago
@jufri840615 Your Acer would need to support MXM 3.0b. I would suggest contacting your Acer sales rep.

wow all that in a laptop its amazing.
although i can't imagine how HOT this would run, those heatsinks are a fraction of the size of their desktop equivalent.

I have ati Radeon Mobility HD 4250
will i be able to switch that out for this
Scorch052 6 months ago
@Scorch052 for the amount you'd be paying for the 6970 you might as well buy a new laptop to begin with
waseem1173 6 months ago
@waseem1173 well ya but is it possible
Scorch052 6 months ago
@Scorch052 don't know much about various laptop models but i think the motherboard on your current laptop which was made to house a mobile version 4250 would bottleneck the dual 6970's.
waseem1173 6 months ago
@Scorch052
As far as I understand it is not possible. The HD 4250 is an on board GPU that cannot be removed and replaced as it is integrated into the RS880M chipset.

Why are there 4 heat sinks? 1 for the cpu, 2 for the graphix, 1 more for the...?
christopher12344321 7 months ago
@christopher12344321
The fourth heat sink is there to increase the air flow within the enclosure and therefore increase the cooling capacity of the system as a whole. The system supports desktop processors which require a good deal of cooling power.
