Its not because the trucks dirty. those tires are old and weather checked. and on semi trucks they take the old tires and reuse them with new rubber called recapping. but the problem is when recapped tires get old and worn down like that, they blow out and cause accidents.

i have seen many bad trucks here in US ! i have leased trucks from all 3 major company's here in US and had to fight every time to get anything fixed ! many times they would remove fire ext triangles battery covers and many more things to "save them" when i got stopped by State Police i got 18 tickets and 18 warnings warnings where for driver ( me ) tickets where for leasing company !!!

I have nothing against Teamsters or unions, in fact I am a member. Also, I have no problem with our Mexican trucker brothers fromthe south crossing the border in their trucks either. They are working men just like we are trying to make a living. Those Mexican trucks are no worse than many of the trucks I see here and drive on a daily basis. if it wasent for truckers you wouldent have the clothes on you backs food in your house or the toys you give your kids they work year round they dont worry much about the outside of the truck its how it runs if the brakes work they care about. and yes there are truckers out there that need to be taken off the road. but not all. dont judge a truck by appearances or the driver. judge by there actions if they are bad you will now it for sure. remember we are bigger than you and its harder to stop.

As a former mechanic for 7 years and a current OTR driver, not sure what your complaint is here. These trucks look just like the ones I see running in Chicago all day every day. The tires you showed in the video are obviously still running enough tread to be legal and dings and dents in the body don't tell you anything about how well the mechanical systems of the truck are maintained. in fact it's very expensive to fix body work or paint trucks, you get more bang for your buck fixing needed stuf

What I find ironic is that, most of the *ahem* "damage" they focus on in the video is normal wear and tear. Those spots where the greyish-white shines through the paint is simply where the paint has burned through due to, guess what? ........The Sun!! The trailer at 0:08 and 0:22? I see those in Canada all the time. They're used for hauling scrap steel. The graffiti at 0:41? Seen that in Canada (although, on shipping containers.) A little bit of body damage in the hood? I do have knowledge because i'm a truck driver myself. A lot of times, the look has nothing to do with the mechanical function of the truck. I had a 95 Freightliner before and to be honest with you, it looked horrible from the outside... But i kept everything up to date when it came to the mechanical stuff. Everything was up to date because i didnt want to risk my life or anyone's else either. Of course, it varies with people, right?
