  • I worked with Bob Seger a few times. He's a genuine gentleman and just a plain old guy like you and I who happens to be famous and one hell of a musician.

  • where do i find this song to download it to my ipod tuch

  • I want to be a trucker. Would listen to Bob Seger all day, smoke cigarettes and drive.

  • where can i find this song for my ipod i tryed itunes they dont have it

  • @80163brittney this is my favorite song

  • I Love You Bob Seger!!!!!!!!!

  • just turned my 24 yr. old son on to this song the other day (ok week) he was amazed we went thru all this sh-t yrs. ago, now he has a teensy bit more respect for my opinion, kids! what u gonna do, thanx for posting this great seger song, luv driving my kids crazy when i listen to it.

  • @dontlabelme001 well thought out point. Proved me wrong

  • Well first of all, it sounds like real instruments to me. I get the whole message. New stuff, sorry I just don't understand it. Just attitude to me, and attitudes are cheap. Dime a dozen. Bob Seger puts on one hellava show for a 67 year old . He is a classic from a special mold. Keep on rockin Bob. You are as good now as you ever where my old friend.

  • like

  • Ahh, riding in Dad's old 71 C-10 and listening to this in the summer. I love this.

  • ♥ it

  • One of the best and meaningfull songs ever...

  • i went to see him in Pittsberg a few weeks ago xD

  • He was in Ottawa, Canada last night, it was brilliant a show! :)

  • Its funny sometimes i listen to rap or country or rock but one constant is seger. Regardless of whatever i feel like listening to seger always makes his way into my "daily" playlist.

    Seger #1

  • Hell Yeah, this ol boy from Cadillac. MI loves it...

  • What propels this song into overdrive is the drumming by Russell Kunkel and the piano of Roy Bittan (of the E Street Band). BTW.... you CAN like both Seger and Rush. I know I do. And I think Rush belongs in the Hall of Fame. Same lineup for almost 40 years. Peart is one heck of a drummer.

  • GREAT tune!!!!

  • been a fan since the '70's...

    he's amazing.

    yep, even still.

  • He never sold out!!! NEVER!!! He always stayed to what he was!! Nobody dare deny it!!!

  • can;t believe the comments; the shit people post; its all great music. there is no one better then the other they give life to music now jedward is another story .

  • @sicochicken .lmaoooooo @ your upload comment can i come with ya and help hunt the dislikers down? great song . ty for uploading . sounds great my end of the world

  • Seger will always be the real deal!

  • Oh and one more thing i forgot, I'm not dissing Bob Seger, personally i think that he is one of the best of all time ever, (certainly better than Rebecca Black) I'm just saying there is no way Seger is worse than Springsteen, and even if Seger is better than Springsteen, Springsteen doesn't suck.

    3 more words . . .

    Born To Run

  • Another reason Springsteen sucks: For years, he and Raitt, and Jackson Browne, and their crew, locked out and blackballed heavy metal artists from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They let them in in drips and drabs, but it is a CRIME that Rush is still not in the Hall of Fame, and that Ronnie James Dio - a man with more chops than any singer in rock history, except perhaps Geoff Tate, is STILL not in the Hall, even more than a year since his passing. Springsteen and his clique control access.

  • @quornholio

    Your wrong about two things.

    1. The reason those bands and people you mentioned aren't in the hall of fame is because the guy who decides who gets in (not Springsteen) said so.

    2. The exception to the above is Rush, the reason they aren't in the hall is because they are overrated.

By the way, Tom Petty is better than Seger, Springsteen, and Rush combined so I actually agree with you when you said he was a great musician.

  • @OutlawSprocket

youre a doucher Rush is not overrated

  • Okay, want proof? Look at Bruce the schmaltzmeister BUTCHER Bob Seger's "Rambling Gamblin Man" (I can't post the link, so just search for it in YouTube). It's horrible! Bob Seger (who likes Springsteen actually, so I'm implying no feud here) is the musician Bruce Springsteen WISHES he was!

  • Nope. Springsteen sucks. I know all the great musicians he's ever worked with - Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Chuck Berry, Bonnie Raitt, et al. -- think/thought he's got great chops, and it's probably because he's the hardest working white man in show business. But, unlike the hardest working man in show business, James Brown, Bruce Springsteen is all show and no dough. He has what is called an estimable talent, which he has milked to great advantage.

  • Watch out Bob! Here comes a fucking train!

  • Thank you,not listen to this song in years..I love it :)

  • my God i love this song so much!

  • Sounds better at half speed.

  • "And it comes to you how it all slips away. Youth and beauty are gone one day. No matter what you dream or feel or say. It ends in dust and disarray, like, winds on the plain, sand through the glass, waves rolling in with the tide. Dreams die hard and we watch them erode, But we cannot be denied, The fire inside." Love that part. I don't know why.
  • He should be ranked in history AT LEAST as high as Springsteen.

  • @kankeranker Springsteen? Give me a break! Springsteen WISHES he could be as genuine as Bob Seger.

  • @quornholio

    Take that back.

  • These are some of the best lyrics ever. And the beat ain't bad, either. Rock on, Seger.

  • i rember when i was like 5 i was running to my pop with this cd pop pop i got a really good cd and i triped up and put a crack in the case its still there.. this makes mmy eyes water. :(

  • Bob Seger most under-rated artist ever. This guy is top quallity.

    Keep on Rockin Bob!!!!

  • Info for everyone: 240p has nothing to do with sound quality, it is the amount of horizontal lines that make up the picture. The p stands for progressive scan. It's a term on how the picture is displayed. So unless you wanna stare at a high quality picture of Bob and his guitar 240p doesn't make a difference. In fact it will download faster.

  • @HuntingForHumans the sound does change when you change the quality. go on a hd video youll see.

  • My worst enemy is here too. Hi, 240p -_-

  • bob seger aka the greatest ....number 1 fan

  • Yes, to me this song is pure power! Thank you , for posting this one!

  • Grandissimo, bellissimo, inimitabile pezzo...........

  • The music behind this song is nothing special but the singing and the lyrics are. I think Seger is singing about people out on the town looking for something they'll never find. He really pegs the woman who sleeps with men just to feel some sort of human touch. This is an excellent song but perhaps, too realistic for some.

  • I made nr 666 } : )

  • it is the truth hide the pain don,t bring anyone else on the ship of pain.

we all know pain is not free we pay dearly.

  • like it? shit, its my favorite song by Seger

  • I was born in "67" Heard my first song in sept "75" And have been a fan still and will die 1! U ROCK SEGER! My kids love your music and im sure theirs as well. Thanks for letting this 43 yr old kid remember his younger days:)

  • HEY YALL JERKOFFS this be the man and the song. Walk in and say"Fuck Bob Seger and Hank . Get yo ass whooped. This is music where I come from.Don't mention zz. I'll put a quarter in the juke, if ya want san asswhooping if ya don't play the rightin"

  • Been single since 1981 I know this feeling very well!!!

  • @ralphbish WOW mate that's a really long time... how can you cope with it?

  • I don't know how this guy could do this live..lol...go Bob !! great memories of ur prime...thank you for posting

  • This song is amazing, I've always loved his music and wow this ids just awesome

  • This song is absolutely brilliant. How this wasn't one of his major hits, I don't know. It is so deep and meaningful, but to a casual listener, just a catchy tune. Once you really listen to what the lyrics are saying, you get a completely new understanding of the song: the emotional torture and struggles of a person and a culture. I listen to this when I feel similar to the people in the song, and it gives me peace knowing that someone out there feels the same way too.

  • whenever i listen to this song, i just wanna kick off my shoes, and just shake shake shake! i love this song!

  • I just heard this song on Rock Fm a romanian radio and I instantly loved it

  • Bob Seger comes from a time when the music was pure and this just shows us how untainted the music was of this , my generation. Unfortunately i can't narrow my favorite of his down to just one song love them all.

  • This is Lars Ulrich's favorite song. Gotta love that snare.

  • @rboulter

shhhh lars might be on this page trying to tune his snare..

  • This has to be my favorite Bob Seger song --- Love the piano!!!

  • to those people who disliked this vid I HOPE U BURN IN HELL.... imma find u and flame thower you BITCHESSSS

  • Long live Rock and Roll and I shit on the 21 that gave this song a bad rating!!!!

  • this is sum real tunage, fuck that jungle trance hiphop fuckin shit music

  • who here agrees that today's punk techno and other junk is not real music

    thumbs up if u agree

  • @bakuman78

Imo all music has merit. except country. that music is trash.

i love classic rock , metal, techno, dubstep, punk, grunge ,etc.

    basically i actually appreciate music

  • @bakuman78 it's music to some each to thier own. I dont think the new music has any heart to it. At least not like this song does.

  • @bakuman78 Everything is music. I agree, this wonderful song has worlds more soul than anything mass-produced by the media today, but I will never say that something is not real music.

  • @bakuman78 Ask yourself why you need validation from a bunch of strangers.

  • @dontlabelme001 I think that's what alot of people strive for in some way shape or form. Nothing wrong with a little attention

  • @MadaraXIII It's not clean attention, based upon merit, or value...It's manipulative, generic, and .and basically pretty sad. Picture this" Go to an anti-gun site", and bray: "All guns should be banned! Thumbs up if yo agree"...etc..You'll get hundreds. Then this..Go to a pro-gun site, and trumpet" '2nd Amendment Rules!!..Thumbs up if you agree!!" Ditto the hundreds...In other words, it's a pre-approving group you are "asking" this question of.....Therefore, it means nothing of value...To anyone.

  • the fire down below is her cunt.

  • The piano run in this song is AWESOME!

  • I heard this on Jeremy Clarkson's Motorworld! (1990's automotive show)

The Detroit episode! Bob Seger himself guest-stars in that episode as well!

  • @SeberHusky

Yep, that's where I heard it from too :)

  • One of Michigan's Greatest Ambassadors. Seger makes me proud to be from Michigan.

  • I start my day at 5 in the a.m every morning to this song, a cup of coffee, and a cigarette. Fuck yeah!!!

  • watch out for monkeys on Tuesday

  • This has been my favorite song since I was in 6th grade, (I'm an 11th grader now.) and I'm finally getting the chance to see Bob Seger live this Saturday. I really hope he performs this song, because getting to see it done live after all these years would be amazing. This song just has a certain something about it that makes me so happy every time I listen to it :)

  • @ericalovessyoux3 Got to see him in Toronto on the 12th, it's so surreal feeling like one of the younger members at 19 there, aha.

I was hoping for this one to be on the setlist, but he missed out on it (strangely enough also on Night Moves), but bring a video camera to record this for me if he does play this live!

P.S., he goes for two encores, so make sure to stick around a while

  • @12TheDude12 Ahhh, no! I really hope he plays this one! Don't worry, though. I will have my camera, charged and ready, just in case and if he does play this I will record it :)

    Thanks!

  • I always thought this was one of Seger's better songs, which they were all great, but this one, "Hollywood Nights", and "Against The Wind" have always stood out to me. I would give anything if I could have been alive when thiswas the music that everybody listened to...

  • this was my favorite song when I was little. I was born in 1996. When I was 5, I decided I wanted to marry Bob Segar...because of this song.

  • No problem here,I lived this album at the same time with Lou Reed's Magic and Loss and I came out alright? It's 2011 and this was 1992! Down all the days! Have you done your homework?

  • @silvertidebbuddy umm, england is also the source of some of the greatest classic rock bands.

  • @silvertidebbuddy listen to Gerry Rafferty. My fondest hope was to have Bob Seger and Gerry Rafferty collaborate on an album.

  • 21 people dont have a fire inside

  • I remember listening to this song in the car with my dad when I was really young. I didn't even know who sang it then. It really brings back good memories of my dad actually happy and together with my mother ^^ oh thank you Bob.

  • ive played guitar for 30 years. But whenever I hear Seger it makes me wish I had chosen the piano. One of the truly great artists in the history of rock n roll. .

  • @VonMilash I agree about the piano thing. It's what jumps out and grabs my rock and roll bones everytime I hear it. It's also what sets the Seger sound apart from the others of his time. AWESOME.

  • One of the best songs ever written about loneliness

  • Brilliant songwriting - one of the loneliest songs ever written - sing it slowly to yourself

  • these lyrics are so moving. gotta love seger!
