I love Kapena. I grew up in Hawaii and now living in Cali. Everytime I miss home, I just throw in a Kapena cd and I'm all good. Their music brings so much comfort, not to metion good memories of watching them at The Fisherman's Wharf.
I've loved this band for a long time and it's true, seeing them in a casual setting like this where they're playing for just folks is almost like having a private performance. Much cooler than seeing them down Waikiki way!
I was stationed on Sand Island Coast Guard BAse back in the 80s. So much has changed since then on Sand Island. I want to visit there again soon.
