@awoodson89 because there are no pro teams in Iowa. There are 2 BCS programs and that's it. 99% of the population is either a Cyclone or Hawkeye. With no pro teams, they are the show in the state of Iowa. Just because most of the nation doesn't realize the rivalry, doesn't mean it isn't important or big. In fact, this is probably top 10-15 most bitter rivalries with the most hatred. I love it, its what makes college sports great.

Everyone in college football knew that Iowa State didn't beat Nebraska that day. Nebraska beat themselves. Nebraska's defense pushed Iowa State all over the field and the Cyclones could only manage 3 points off 8 extra possessions. Nebraska's offense was totally inept and gave away the game. But hey, a win is a win. But what a pathetic football program Iowa State has. They can't beat anyone. This win was their national championship. Iowa State football is absolutely a joke!

I will admit that if that game goes into 2 OT's, NU wins. We were totally banged up and would not have scored another TD. I am a Hawkeye Fan and i like Paul Rhoads, but he wont get this program turned around even though i want him too. he has 5 years left, he can recruit and himself or his coaching staff isnt good enough to turn 2 star recruits into All-Americans like iowa can, i hope he can turn it around but i dont think he can.
@ Paul Rhoads has already turned the program around. in ISU's two seasons with Chizic they had 5 total wins. Rhodes has 12 wins already including a bowl win. In Ferentz' first two years at Iowa he had a record of 4-19 before he turned things around in a big way. Rhoads has quite a ways to go before ISU becomes a more power house football team. But with Nebraska last year in Lincoln, and beating Texas in Austin and with the very tight game against Nebraska last night I see a bright future for ISU
@gaschwarck Thats good for him in all, but they dont have the coaching staff to go to a bowl every year, they have one great coach, but they need 10 good coaches to take 2 and 3 star recruits and make them into All-Americans, not 1. If you look at their recruiting class right now, they have 16 commited people but they are all 2 and 3 stars with no offers. How are they gonna be next year without Arnaud and Robinson.
@bbender1986 lets think about this for a second. Last year ISU came to Nebraska as huge underdogs and won. They had a reason to celebrate. It is a completely different story when you are 6-1 and ranked 14 and you beat a 4-4 team. You don't really celebrate that win so much as you were the 4-4 team and win.
There is no denying that Nebraska is the favorite to win the game. But, if ISU comes to play like they did against Texas, Nebraska could have their hands full.

Not much experience? ISU's offense was suppose to be decent because their experience. Arnaud 5th year senior. Alexander Robinson 5th year senior. The only position group where ISU lacked any experience was the linebacking corps. I think the linebackers are playing okay despite having a terrible Defensive Line. It's not experience that's hurting ISU. It's a lack of size, speed, power, and mental toughness.
Some of Iowa State's football players are there just for the status of being a Cyclone football player and the free education. Why the hell would you go out to the clubs after being smashed 68-27? Some players just don't care about the team.

Most of ISU's starters are juniors and seniors! being young excuse doesn't apply to the Clones. When has ISU ever had a great team? They have had decent teams, but never a great team. They have never had a team that played in a BCS Bowl game.

Everyone in college football knew that Iowa State didn't beat Nebraska that day. Nebraska beat themselves. Nebraska's defense pushed Iowa State all over the field and the Cyclones could only manage 3 points off 8 extra possessions. Nebraska's offense was totally inept and gave away the game. But hey, a win is a win. But what a pathetic football program Iowa State has. They can't beat anyone. This win was their national championship. Iowa State football is absolutely a joke!

@cwelter10 Do you realize that that failed two point conversion not only cost Iowa State the game but it also kept Iowa State from being bowl eligible, thus costing the sports program possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost bowl revenue. Way to go, Coach Rhoades! Real smart move! He throws a failed two point conversion into a 35 mile an hour wind. What a dumbass move!

@spiderdragon1969 actually that 2 pt conversion did not cost us bowl eligibility. We shouldve taken care of K-State, CU, or even Mizzou, but we failed to win any of those games. I will admit that if that game goes into 2 OT's, NU wins. We were totally banged up and would not have scored another TD. Myself and many other Cyclone fans believe Coach RHOADS made the right decision. If the holder didn't throw like a girl, CPR would have looked like a genius.

I am a Hawkeye Fan and i like Paul Rhoads, but he wont get this program turned around even though i want him too. he has 5 years left, he can recruit and himself or his coaching staff isnt good enough to turn 2 star recruits into All-Americans like iowa can, i hope he can turn it around but i dont think he can.

@ Paul Rhoads has already turned the program around. in ISU's two seasons with Chizic they had 5 total wins. Rhodes has 12 wins already including a bowl win. In Ferentz' first two years at Iowa he had a record of 4-19 before he turned things around in a big way. Rhoads has quite a ways to go before ISU becomes a more power house football team. But with Nebraska last year in Lincoln, and beating Texas in Austin and with the very tight game against Nebraska last night I see a bright future for ISU

@gaschwarck Thats good for him in all, but they dont have the coaching staff to go to a bowl every year, they have one great coach, but they need 10 good coaches to take 2 and 3 star recruits and make them into All-Americans, not 1. If you look at their recruiting class right now, they have 16 commited people but they are all 2 and 3 stars with no offers. How are they gonna be next year without Arnaud and Robinson.

@bbender1986 lets think about this for a second. Last year ISU came to Nebraska as huge underdogs and won. They had a reason to celebrate. It is a completely different story when you are 6-1 and ranked 14 and you beat a 4-4 team. You don't really celebrate that win so much as you were the 4-4 team and win.
There is no denying that Nebraska is the favorite to win the game. But, if ISU comes to play like they did against Texas, Nebraska could have their hands full.

Not much experience? ISU's offense was suppose to be decent because their experience. Arnaud 5th year senior. Alexander Robinson 5th year senior. The only position group where ISU lacked any experience was the linebacking corps. I think the linebackers are playing okay despite having a terrible Defensive Line. It's not experience that's hurting ISU. It's a lack of size, speed, power, and mental toughness.

A realistic ISU fan would realize that ISU sucks. Giving up 41 points in the first half in your house, isn't acceptable! Getting blown out by Iowa two years in a row, is not acceptable. Most of ISU's starters are juniors and seniors! being young excuse doesn't apply to the Clones. When has ISU ever had a great team? They have had decent teams, but never a great team. They have never had a team that played in a BCS Bowl game.

It hurts to lose, but I will always be a cyclone fan, always have been. I think Rhoads is taking us in a great direction. But, with good or bad seasons we've always got pride which is more than some other teams can say. So shut up and get the hell off, bash somebody else's youtube comments. Or better yet, do something productive

Just because this video became an Internet hit doesn't mean ISU has more pride than other teams. Half of the football team wants the football season to end right now. They don't want to make those trips to Norman and Austin. Getting 8 turnovers is a once in a lifetime thing. It's not happening this season.
