Paul Newman so hated his performance in this film it was said he couldn't stand to hear anybody even mention The Silver Chalice. It had at least one thing going for it in the shape of Virginia Mayo who never looked more ravishing!.
@rockybrazil1 I could have sworn there was a scene where after the blonde was to be thrown off the tower to see if she could fly, that she acutaly climbed into the tower to put on the special harness, maybe they cut it out from later releases
@etrax2000 I remember this last scene when I saw it the first time, in 1956. By the way, Virginia Mayo shaved the eye bows for this film and people was afraid it woldn't grow again. According to the history, Simon really did all these tricks. Rockybrazil1
@rockybrazil1 Maybe they "padded" the television. non -commercial free version" as I am slmost deathly certain, that i remember Mayo asking her servant to "get me the cloak "and she did indeed climb out over the tower. i will try and find a copy of the complete script. ,no big deal, but i like to be sure about these things

I HATE THIS MOVIE, BUT I LOVE THE STYILZED SETS, I HOPE THE NEW CLEOPTATRA WITH ANGELINA WILL BE DONE IN THIS STYLE
