PLEASE, someone tell me how I can get a copy of this, it means so very much to me, for my golden memories of loved ones and loved era. Thanks and peace
Indeed this song, was a harbinger of things to come, true pre-trance, way ahead of its time, before the word trance had even be thought of, to be applied to the music dance scene, I was exposed to this dance treasure at Holywood's Gino's II, was a small venue but great party vibe and the music was months ahead of the rest of the club scene, in Los Angeles, CA,; with honorable mention to Circus Disco as well, and I have to agree with Canyon 256, you had to see the dance floor when this came on.
@tlalok09 I went to Gino's II and Circus, do you know me and maybe I know YOU ( I was the tall latin with the little black dance partner in high heels )
Huge song in San Francisco in the fall of 1980. i remember waiting for its release at the record store to buy for a few months. i never heard anything like it the first time it my ears. very intense song to dance and listen to. Brilliant song. hard to believe it was from 79 or earlier when it was made- ahead of it's time.
Tantra was an Italian band headed by a (still) famous music producer, Celso Valli. Hills of Katmandu dates back to 1979, the same year an album was released. Patrick Cowley migistrally remixed Hills of Katmandu in 1980, cutting and reshuflling some "ingenous" notes, making the sound more linear and armonized. Hills was one of the most danced and popular electronic dance pieces of its age.
I know exactly what your talkin about, used to Dance to this at The Funhouse, the dance floor would just fill up, man u would just lose yourself in it. This and The Break, were the 2 best jams of the 80's!!!!
One of my earliest Albums as a DJ in Los Angeles..... Still have it but stashed away with all my other albums in storage way in the back. thanks you saved me a lot of trouble to get it out by posting it here!
I purchased this album when I was really young! Someone stole it from me so I am glad to hear it here on You Tube. It brings back memories of better days. Peace
I was just going thru my albums the other day, and realized I had THREE of these albums. I guess it was the drugs......LOL
