  • Is this it!!!?? Is this the brillant concept of LEAN?!!! This is a value-chain analyzes followed by the natural rationalization. Wauv, I have been wondering about this "LEAN"-concept that everybody was talking about for a while, and naturally it is nothing new. Just a new marketing wrapping. Not that it does not work, sure it does, but it is not realy revolutionizing for anyone wanting to cut cost or focus on core competencies.

  • @SorenMoller26 unfortunately, many western companies do not know about lean and have been producing tons of waste that nobody will buy. Take GM for example, they would mass produce and hope the cars would sell and in return, they had cars sitting in a lot and a lot of wasted investment is represented by the unsold cars.

  • Lean Concept is the american replica of KAIZEN and Value Stream Mapping or Management is a specific KAIZEN method for obtaining OPF (One Piece Flow), in order to reduce wastes and be more flexible (reduction or elimination of defects ,stocks, changeovers...)

  • Toyota's short cutting is biting them in the ass this week! Energizer Battery is probably next to make the headlines. Much of the so called (wasted time) being cut is actually necessary aging safe gaurds. Also cheaper supplies may haunt you down the road....ask toyota today how they like their cheap gas pedal supplier.

  • Simple, explanatory and good visualize..
