I used believe in Greek myths when I was young as Zeus was the so called god and all the other gods made the everything else. When my friend told me cloth licks HAD to believe in god I was like WTF DUDE why should I? Just becuz my parents wanted me catholic doesn't mean I got to. I could believe in nothing if I wanted to. I don't wanna believe that I just pop up magically and god was just using my parents. Someone probably gonna say to me well you just an idiot that believes that everyone haves
All modern humans have African ancestors. These Africans 250,000 year ago likely looked like modern San People but with much more rugged faces. They would also be distinct from modern Black Africans, who sprang from advanced peoples who were descended from these Modern Archaics. The populations outside Africa in general have less genetic diversity which means they are mostly descended from a small number of folks who left a far larger African core population.
@RudinBiology Today's non-Africans show genetic traces from Neanderthals and Denisovans, who were DIFFERENT kinds of Archaics whose ancestors left Africa maybe 300,000 years earlier than the Moderns. But they were close enough to interbreed with Moderns. Now there was also Asian Homo Erectus whose ancestors left Africa as much as 1,500,000 years ago. I strongly suspect that H. Erectus did interbreed with the first Australians and Asians. But it has not been proven.
@RudinBiology Modern humans started migrating out of Africa into the Middle East about 100,000 years ago, and it seems that they were pushed back/died out there until about 70,000 years ago, when they left Africa on a permanent basis at the Sinai or Bab El Mandab. Then the wave of Moderns absorbed some of the Archaics there, leaving the Neanderthal DNA. There were also Archaics we know little about in N.W. Africa who were absorbed too, some of them that is.
The fact is, God if he desired could have created the world as the Old Testament reflects. Or He could have created it all five minutes ago, and all our memories & records may be constructs. I happen to believe that God allowed our Universe to evolve, and that is just the way he wanted it to be. God is an infinte Being, so God can and will operate any way that He wants.
@Albacorewing Thank you! I agree! Though people who deny evolution don't deny science. They just deny that interpretation of evidence. I personally don't believe in evolution just because over time and study, I formed a disbelief in macro evolution. But I agree with you that many people think religion and science cannot come together but the mesh perfectly. God created science didn't he? Then we should find truth in his answers. Science doesn't reject the belief in God.
Folks, God exists. I also see no conflict between the existence of God and evolution. The problem is that most scientists deny the existence of God, and most creationists basically deny science. I think evolution is simply the way that God implemented the universe as we know it. Most Christians and most Muslims these days think the world and our species did evolve. A minority say no.
@yorubagirl012 this is Nothing but guess. but that's what happens when you lack true Knowledge you settle for guess so what dose that say about your Intelligence? this has nothing to do with science, Math or anthropology. it's more of a satanic way to push a higher agenda. but you will soon know when it comes to light.
@Aws8819 "when you lack true Knowledge you settle for guess" - kind of like how people "guess" god is real when they can't prove it. In science something you can't prove without a shadow of a doubt is a theory, evolution is one, and so would be god as nothing can be proved, only guessed at best and haveing faith that it is correct. (when i say god i do mean any form or shape or number, not christian only, also note that i'm not an atheist against religion or wish to try to change anyones faith.)
@PoisonViolet We don't guess god is Real We know for a fact God is Real he. Given the fact that we are Intelligent beings we can recognize other Intelligent Beings. For Example when you see a plain you don't sit their & wonder how it evolved or came about from nothing. you can recognize that it was Designed & Created by someone. so why is it that when you see a flying bird or insect you don't think that it's Designed & Created? well that's where you lack understanding. Allah is the Creator (.)
@Aws8819 But if i see a plain do i (if i don't see a mark) assume it's from one company and can't be from anothe? just because i have faith it's from the one i think it is? You say i lack understanding, but you only got the general idea of my post. I don't disbelieve, i just like discussion and debate and religion always feeds that intrest of mine. I'm not , as i said, here to say someone is wrong or right and most of what i believe personaly i rarely would bring into public debate on youtube.
@Fauzul1 ohh okay so you would rather believe that humans were created from Nothing? Allah created us From Dust & Allah gave us life just like everything ells. look around you where do you think everything came from? Allah is the Creator stop listening to the Shyatan
@Aws8819 I'm a Moeslem, and I believe GOD creates Adam like us Al-Hijr 26 refer to All Human (INSAANA) Al-Hijr 28 refer to the One man that GOD want to test (BASYARAN) Both verse tell us that INSAANA and BASYARAN creates from "MIN SHALSHAALIMMINHAMAIMMASNUUN", the Metaphor sentence. Why I call them "the Metaphor sentence" Coz you and I (INSAANA) were not created from dust (literaly), or were you? So, what kind of dust? See chapter AL-MUKMINUUN (12-14) Salam alaikum :-)
theres no way of knowing. If eve was from Persia iraq... We have a pretty big picture that she was light skinned. Look at all the mid east countries, most of them are pretty light. Everyone put the puzzle together and read the HOLY BIBLE it will explain and help you all a lot.
Those who believe that evolution is not true, keep you BLIND faith with you. We dont give a damn about what you believe. You brains still are not matured enough to understand evolution. Dont waste our time commenting against evolution and provoking for debates. If you cant understand evolution by now, they I dont think you will be able understand it in a debate here. Do not waste our time. God bless you(You may now f*ck off, in my words) and continue your slavery to imaginary to entities.
What does evolution have to do with allegedly imaginary entities? You DO know that evolution =/= atheism, right? Please note the difference. You won't believe how often I need to correct Creationists who accuse me of being an atheist because I'm an evolutionist.
@kesav1985 there is no blind faith in islam the quran and science are twins and science is the little sister because the quran came from god 1400 years ago and it speaks about thing science only figured out 1900+ ,,examples = every living thing is made with water , the big bang yes its in the quran and things like how babys form in the womb ,two oceans one is salty and the other one is sweet and they dont mix i can go on for an hour so dont put all faith in the BLIND category ;) PEACE
@kesav1985 listen im a slave to the creator of all things from atoms to space ,,, but you are the one who thinks nothing comes from nothing ,,like a iphone appearing out of nowhere like DNA and the suns orbit who is perfect just came to existens out of thin air your in denial and im not a nurse so hope you get better im out
@kesav1985 hahah enough with the name calling you talk like a kid and your the same age as me ,, now you asked a good question and the answer is every created thing has a creator like us humans and planets but the creator is uncreated the creator is not a male or a female nor a planet he does not live in the sky or the heavens because he created it ALL not if you ask who created the creator is a illogical question because the creator is uncreated
@kesav1985 The watch has a watchmaker. The quilt has a quilt maker. You have to keep going back until you have the un-created One. Something doesn't come from nothing. If there was nothing, then there would never be something. Talking down to someone doesn't make them any less true (or false). If you would, I ask that we make this a mature debate. Not one filled with insults.
It does not make any sense to think that everything in the universe needs a creator but a creator does not. A creator, who creates complex things, must be more complex and needs a much more complex creator than himself. This loop never ends and it must have come from nothing. If a creator can come from nothing so does this universe. Nobody proved that god came from nothing, but science proved that this universe can start from nothing. I dont waste much time debating fools.
@kesav1985 I don't believe in Intelligent Design or Creationism either, but I fail to see why a designer must be more complex than his own design. It seems more like a non-sequitor argument to me. It's like saying that a simple cell cannot be the ancestor of all the complex organisms today because it is less complex than it's apparent decedents.
I know. To create something complex instantaneously certainly needs a more complex creator. But forming of complex life from simple ones is possible only through evolution, i.e. with sufficient amount of time and after so many mutations and adaptations. So, evolution discards any scope of a creator. I dont think all those machines we have designed are more complex than us. We cant even create perfect face expressions on robots, no machines can run like animals do,...
@kesav1985 I know how evolution works, but you are not answering my question. Why does it necessarily follow that a designer has to be more complex than it's own designs?
...no aeroplane can fly like many of the birds, no ship/submarine can beat fish in the oceans, no computers can perfectly mimic human brains. All of these complex looking machines are, again, EVOLVED. we did not create them at once. It took 50 odd years to get to the present day computers, 2 centuries to build today's aeroplanes, but still they have so many limitations and still evolving. They took the combined effort of thousands of individuals, but not done by one man.
@kesav1985 No you cannot prove that the universe starts from nothing. What you CAN prove is that there is a universe and that is started somehow. Again you treat historical science as it is observational which is flawed logic. The creator doesn't "come" from anything. The creator is eternal. That means no beginning or end. You're trying to put something eternal into a finite dimension. Another flawed logic. Nothing CANNOT create something. That's nonsense.
@kesav1985 By the way, the simplest life form, a flagellum has 14 separate parts that create a mechanism. None of these parts function alone, they must be together all at the same place at the same time (indicating a creator). The odds of it forming ONLY ONCE (it must happen millions of times for evolution to be true, and with more complex mechanisms) are 1 in 10 to the 1170th power. That's vastly larger than the estimated number of ATOMS in the universe (10 to the 81st power). Science my friend
Its always fun for me to see people like you talking nonsense in the name of science. Your statement about flagellum is wrong. Learn it before you make any such wrong statements. I am sure you must have heard it from some creationist's speech. Understand cosmology, astrophysics.
@kesav1985 And also, the flagellum statistics were calculated by a secular scientist who didn't believe in God. Have you delved into the statistics yourself? No. Then what right do you have to call that statement false. I'd much rather trust the one with a Phd. Not some random youtuber who has no knowledge of such thing. Once again if you want to find the truth in a debate, personal message me. Once again, insulting doesn't deduct from validity.
@kesav1985 It seems like you're being very insulting to others who don't believe what you do. Insulting anything doesn't make it any less true or valid. Blind faith is simply having a faith without backing it up. Anyone can have a blind faith no matter what they believe, as long as you don't know why you believe it. Evolution (the THEORY) is not an observable science but a historical one. You can't prove the past because you dont have it.
"...Evolution (the THEORY) is not an observable science..." . You lost me there. If you feel this as an insult, then I would definitely insult anybody who says that evolution is just a theory ignoring the overwhelming evidence present in and around us. You are an illiterate. Period.
whats your interpretation of evidence? What evidence do you have to disprove evolution, except some holy-sh--t book ? Burn that book and learn science.
@kesav1985 Well first off I never told you what I believe. We all have the same evidence. The evidence is a constant. The interpretation is what varies. And you're use of cursing makes you look immature. Evidence doesn't disprove or prove evolution. Neither does evidence prove or disprove anything else. You cannot combat a theory with another theory. You treat evolution as if it is a fact. It's just another faith. If you would like to continue a mature conversation, message my inbox.
@kesav1985 Do you not realize that the only worst thing than a bigot is a reverse bigot? you contribute to nothing more than the endless cycle of hate ! hypocrite! you shoot down peoples beliefs to cover up your insecurities and to make your self feel important! your motives are selfish! you wreak of this! people like you will never make a change in this world because you're a slave to hate!
Humans Were "Born" In Africa........ Look Up A Documentry Called "The Human Family Tree"..... You, Me And 7 Billion People Can Trace Their Roots Back To Africa....... So This Documentry Is True......... Humans DID Come From Africa.........
@Elliotvisualeffects "black people today aren't our ancestors" Of course they aren't, and no one really says that. But all humans share a common ancestor which lived in Africa and which had dark skin color.
"Homo Erectus that went north into Europe bred with Neanderthal" And guess who Neanderthals evolved from? From australopithecine ancestors which lived in (surprise!) East Africa.
"Largest Hominid Brain" You do know that having a large brain doesn't necessarily mean 'smarter' brain?
No. This documentary says that the first people were black people. It's funny how white people claim they have the highest IQ's but do not have the basic reading and/ or comprehension skills to understand the simple video.
Dr Rebecca Cann~ "(All humans are) linked to one BLACK WOMAN who lived 150,000 years ago"
Elliotviusaleffects stated: "black people today aren't our ancestors".
You responded with:
[["Of course they aren't, and no one really says that"]]
Which is INCORRECT. The black Africans who started humanity are genetically identical to the black Africans walking around, today. For two reasons I state this: (1) Both groups are Homo sapiens sapiens, and (2) under the social construct called "race", they are black. Thus, the people who gave life look the same as they did 150ky ago
@mikedav9O "The black Africans who started humanity are genetically identical to the black Africans walking around, today" Please state your source for this claim. 'Identical' definitely isn't the right word to use here, 'very similar' may be more appropiate. We aren't even genetically 'identical' to humans who lived 10k years ago. Fossils from about 150k years ago show humans still transitioning from more archaic forms in terms of e.g. skull shape to a shape that is seen in humans today.
Son, you see the black people in this video? That's my source! Once, again, It's funny how white people claim to have the highest IQ's but do not have the basic reading and/ or comprehension skills that come with high IQ's. Do you understand this quote, white boy:
Dr Rebecca Cann~ "(All humans are) linked to one BLACK WOMAN who lived 150,000 years ago"
@ 10.05 - 11.20
That quote is not you, white boy. History doesn't begin with you, white boy. History begins in Africa!
@mikedav9O No need to insult me now, I don't understand why you are so upset. I agreed with you the we all descend from black people that lived in Africa, so I think the one lacks comprehension skills is you...my disagreement had merely to do with you saying that today's black people are genetically identical to black people living 150'000 years ago. And that is simply false. Again, I did NOT say our ancestors weren't black or from Africa. Stop being rude now.
@mikedav9O Yes they are very similar but by no means identical, but if you've got any evidence for it I'd love to hear it. There is more that goes into genetics than skin colour and Homo sapiens sapiens (disease resistance/immunity to name only 1 thing that were most definitely different in our ancestors, they were therefore not genetically identical).
Son, I have a BS in biology with a minor in chem and a Masters in Public Administration w/ Emphasis in Health. I don't know where you get your biology from, but the first humans were indeed a black people. They resembled the black actors used in this film. If they were slightly different in appearance, the actors would not have been used. The first modern humans were a typical black group under the Negroid umbrella. It is even stated in the video @ 10.05s
@mikedav9O "Son", do I have to say it again...my disagreement with you was not over whether the first humans were black. I don't get why you keep going back to this point. I have a master's degree in biology, and as a BS you should know that saying something like "they were genetically identical" is just plain wrong. If not, you should read up on your genetics again. Stop acting like I'm attacking you or black people...
When you state "they are very similar but not identical", I just want to inform you that no two black people even, today, are identical. However, all black people are identical in the fact that they share the same race. Even in the video, as I have pointed out numerous times, at 10.05s, the narrator clearly states the first humans were Black people. I am not going to debate with you about a "Black person" being a "Black person". That's stupid!
@mikedav9O "no two black people even, today, are identical" Yes, now you get it! As someone with a BS in biology you should have known that using terms like 'identical' is wrong in this context.
"because Negroes, today, did not EVOLVE from ancient Black people" Well, humans are still evolving today, so I don't understand why you would say this. There wasn't a lot of change, granted, but evolution is ongoing, it didn't just stop 150k years ago...
"you should have known that using terms like identical is wrong in this context"
--
No. YouTube is not a strict laboratory; I'm not turning in a paper to a rigid professor. You should have realized that by invoking semantics, you were merely grasping for straws Typically when one grasps for the latter, the foundation of their argument is usually severed before the debate starts in earnest. Thus, until man's specie's name is altered, our evolution process is one of stagnation!
@mikedav9O "our evolution process is one of stagnation" I'm starting to doubt that you have any training in biology, because this is just plain wrong. And it's not just semantics, that's a pretty cheap excuse for being caught making false statements. Take lactose for example: some 10k years ago, no one could digest this beyond a few years of age, nowadays most people in countries with a tradition of dairy farming are lactose tolerant -> evolution is not in stagnation.
Trust me when I state the feeling is mutual. You have a disrespect for basic nomenclature. You claim man is still evolving. Man, today, as he has always been for the last 150k years, is called Homo sapiens sapiens. The evolutionary change in man is so minute that experts have not found it significant enough to change the specie name. Therefore, you are grasping for straws, again. Do you not have respect for the profession that you claim to own degrees in?
@mikedav9O So first you say evolution of man is in a state of stagnation, then you say that evolutionary change in man is minute...so which is it? Just because you give a species a name doesn't mean it stops evolving. There was one study a few years ago that showed that recent genetic changes (about 40k years) account for about 7% of the human genome. identifying about 1800 genes that became widely adopted in this period of time. Minute? Not that minute. Significant? Yep!
Evolution is measured by change over time. If man continues to use the existing nomenclature to describe his person, then the evolutionary change that has occurred is so small that it's considered NEGLIGIBLE and stagnant. In the process of moving from one life form to the next, the system is slow (not fast, gaiting, or trotting as you are trying to insinuate). Relative to the age of earth, 150K years is not a significant amount of time for major change to occur in human anatomy.
@mikedav9O Sure, if you think 7% of the genome in the last 40k years and 1800 genes adopted negligible you're free to think that. I never tried to insinuate that "the system" is fast, you misunderstood me once more. Yes, evolutionary change is slow, but it is change after all and certainly not negligible (unless you want to throw whole fields like the study of disease resistance, genetics in general, or biochemistry under the bus).
If man has changed significantly as you propose, then when are you, RudinBiology and your colleagues [sarcasm], going to attempt to change the species name of man? Listening to you, it can be interpreted that our species name is due for an overhaul. If you do not have any scientific proposals that will ultimately change our perspective of man, then I discover, again, that you are merely wasting my time with gibberish and semantics. "Quack" , is the sound of geese!
@mikedav9O If I am wasting your time, don't reply to what I say. I don't mind your shallow insults, really, and I'm quite happy to keep this discussion going. I will not make statements that I cannot back up with evidence or studies, and it's up to you if you want to keep going.
@mikedav9O Well, I'm not a native English speaker, but I think 'negligible' means that something is insignificant enough to not be worth considering. Which is not the case in human evolution (or the evolution of any other species) as the changes are definitely worth considering (otherwise many of the medical advances we've made would not have been possible for example). Evolution isn't just about changing species names, it's about change over time. And humans have changed over time!
@mikedav9O "Humans have not changed ENOUGH over time" But we have changed, which was my point to begin with...so here are my questions to you: have there been changes to the human genome in the past 150k years? It's a yes or no answer. If our evolution is negligible, how do you explain humans and viruses/bacteria co-evolving?
Now I got to have my immature "LOL Really?" moment. "The Ostrich, like humans, have wings" - LOL Really?
"But we have changed, which was my point to begin"
---
And my point is: The first humans on the planet were black people-- the same (anatomical) people walking around, today. The human genome has not changed significantly enough where blacks, today, are not the same as they were 150,000 years ago: anatomically or phenotypically.
"means that something is insignificant enough to not be worth considering. Which is not the case in human evolution"
---
LOL Really? There are organs within our bodies that are considered "negligible" by practicing medical doctors: hence, the vestigial organs. The Ostrich, like humans, have wings that do not have any purpose and are considered negligible in flight. Just because we are human doesn't make us special.
If the changes were not considered small and negligible, don't you think we would have a different species name? It would be transmitted all over the world that modern man is now called Homo XX.
Therefore, In order to be called an entirely different species, there have to be significant change. If the change is not significant to warrant a name change, then those stated changes are NEGLIGIBLE. Do you even know what "negligible" means?? I'm done here.

If you really have a Masters in biology, you need to revisit the undergraduate level to learn the significance of the word "Homo sapiens sapiens". I state this, because Negroes, today, did not EVOLVE from ancient Black people who lived 150k years ago. The species name is what proves that. Thus, H. sapiens sapiens CAN NOT evolve from H. sapiens sapiens. Today's Negroes are anatomically, phenotypically, the same as the ancient Negroes. They are even the same race!

"Your 100% correct and decades of archeology and DNA evidence prove it.
Homo Erectus left Africa. The Homo Erectus that stayed in Africa evolved into modern Negroid Homo Sapiens.
Homo Erectus that went north into Europe bred with Neanderthal and became modern Caucasians.
This is called divergent evolution.
Blacks, Asians, Whites are all a different form of predecessor of Erectus and whites have something special. Neanderthal (Largest Hominid Brain) DNA."-Ellio
@xpressurs God created man from the dust of the ground, the dust of the ground is also called dirt/soil. if you pick up dirt from the ground or soil with your hands, what color is it? I can't wait to see your face when you die & you're judged & you see that Jesus was also a black man. If you can't accept that, then I promise you'll rest with all of the other racist spirits that ever existed on this earth.
@FabDN41 same with Islam no sexual activity outside of marriage and what does Libyas interim prime minister have anything to do with anything? he can legalize same sex marriage ..dosent change anything i live in Canada and there are many couples that live in my area that have wife's at least half their age that's their decision
@FabDN41 yea it basically is, found no where in the quran they take "traditions" n cultures and try to make something out of it ..with the exception of polygamy, i have one spouse but some muslims marry more than one wife ONLY if the original wife gives consent for many reasons especially back in the days when one tried to conceive but was unable to do so she would herself recommend a second wife but yea your argument is like saying Christianity only hires pedophiles to preach which is not true
@FabDN41 lol thats hilarious keep preaching bush boy..if you knew anything about Islam youd know women were not only able to vote but had posiitons in government over 1400 years ago in Islamic society while less than 80 years ago women were finally able to vote in the west, other religions are from the same God except polytheist religions and they have freedom to do what they want in this life, Islam is against racism of all kinds.dont watch tv its dulling your brain down boy
@FabDN41 i like how you huddle all religions in one category and say there not compatible with anything because the west said so lool..who do you worship obama? because far as i know Islam an most religions have politics, law and science included in them especially Islam..the only intolerance i smell here is from the west
@FabDN41 lol your the only fanatic ..go read it for yourself im not making anything up the book is readily available..lol its probably just the george bush spilling out of you..sound just like him..lol am i an extremist terrorist 2?
so go read a quran youll see all these scientific statements that we just discover in the last 60 years and thats what i mean by they go hand in hand is that none of it contradicts the other
@FabDN41 well you dont know jack about science then and you definently dont know anything about Quran like most people from the west so i dont blame you..but basically Quran has in it facts about embryology, neurology, astrology, oceanology, biology, anthropology, zoology, microbiology and more and thats just the scientific aspect..all it states goes hand and hand with science today..this was written 14hundred years ago..
@FabDN41 nothing can exist without them and we all know life originated from water..without water ..no life..and thats not what i was even talking about..i was talking about our essence as biengs..people thought we came from outerspace or that God created us and put us here physically..the Quran says we werent a serperate creation but that we come from Earth..wether thats biochemical ,water, mud, ...we come from Earth is all i was implying
@FabDN41 Science shows that earlier great apes and the ones alive today are not as knowledgable as "Adam" or the first Homo sapienS sapienS and their descendents..unless you have the same IQ as a monkey..and then God tells us in all his scriptures that this was all in his control
@FabDN41 your interpretation of the original creation is ridiculous, the first homo sapien sapien is Adam he was the first to have a critical thinking mind that seperates us from the earlier great apes that have only limited capacity..Quran says Adam was the end result of a process and that Allah gave him knowledge thus honoring him ( and us), us bieng from mud and water just means we come from this nature of 'arth' in arabic, 'Earth" in english all goes with science
@FabDN41 lol well if you knew anything about Islam youd know that the Quran, original teachings of Jesus and the Torah are all from the same source so if theres stories that are similar it dosent mean nothing and if the "myth" is legend then that would prove science wrong..like i said Quran and Science go hand in hand the quran would be wrong if the Earth is flat and if we came from outer space.....
@FabDN41 Well, I won't be able to put a percentage on it. And this wasn't the main point I was trying to make. It really wasn't a statement of certainty, it was more relating to what GodSlave19 said and that even if the quran was closer to the truth, it would be nearly meaningless anyways in the greater scope of things. English isn't my first language, so I sometimes have problems expressing certain things correctly :)
@FabDN41 Nope, hence the word 'might'. I based this comment on what GodSlave19 told me and based on what I know what the bible and the quran say about these things (which I don't remember by heart 100% of course). I should have made a clearer statement.
@danamariegordon Yes, and that's not the point I was trying to make. I just think the scientific explanation is more beautiful than the stories that people have made up over the ages. All of the thousands of religion ever conceived, not only Christianity, have invented stories to try and explain the world and to teach people something about morals.
I would, however, contest the point that the bible teaches the earth is round, but that's another discussion :)
@83Hammerhead oh yea btw im a muslim and a strong evolutionist it goes hand in hand with the Quran ..i hate when people say "religion" contradicts evolution. thats wrong Islam does not contradict evolution it mentions big bang , water origins even universe origins ,the cycles and orbits and much more all hand in hand with todays scientifical beliefs so when someone speaks of religion vs science i just laugh
Horrible narrator. Lisp, mispronouncing words, not a clear speaker, and crappy tone trying to incite sense of urgency. Besides the narrator, good documentary.
Don't forget that the women 150,000 years ago who is the mitochondrial mother of us all was once young and her mitochondrial DNA came from a source thousands of years earlier.....and so on and so on back to the begining of the speciation of bi pedal hominids. Just amazing!!
Kinda makes the Adam and Eve story seem down right silly.
you should upload the discovery channel documentary what killed the megabeasts i cannot find it anywhere it would be a big help if you could upload it
so Mitochondrial DNA of all people may come from 1 woman, amazing. I just love how science works, the Y gene mutation study shows almost same pattern of how humans populated earth.
As a companion to this topic, watch anthropolosist/geneticist Spencer Well's THE JOURNEY OF MAN: A GENETIC ODYSSEY.
THE JOURNEY is told from a genetic perspective.
While THE REAL EVE focused the mitDNA traced through "Eve," THE JOURNEY traced the linkage of MOST non-African groups through the Y-Chromosome from the father's side, putting both modern (fair skinned & straight hair) Asians & modern Europeans' ancestors in Central Asia, from the second wave of travelers who went northerly.
@JamesThWilliams hey fuck you, I was just asking a question and is thats totally how your fucking mother taught you how to respond to other people question.
@SinnFein4ever You could easily solve that problem, since it is a LOCAL, limited problem pertaining to YOU and others like you. You assert: Well, MY LINE came from that woman's AUNT!
And, then, if you knew decent science you're faced with what scientist already know, a knowledge that caused them to come up with the "one woman Eve" "mitochondrial theory": Your "aunt" was not "adopted" from outside homo sapiens! Nor did she come from Mars!

Albacorewing 2 weeks ago

Not one filled with insults.
zacrichey 2 weeks ago
@zacrichey
I dont waste much time debating fools.
kesav1985 2 weeks ago
@kesav1985 I don't believe in Intelligent Design or Creationism either, but I fail to see why a designer must be more complex than his own design. It seems more like a non-sequitor argument to me. It's like saying that a simple cell cannot be the ancestor of all the complex organisms today because it is less complex than it's apparent decedents.
Inari1987 2 weeks ago
@Inari1987 Besides, I am pretty sure that human designers design things that are much more complex than they themselves are.
Inari1987 2 weeks ago
@Inari1987
We cant even create perfect face expressions on robots, no machines can run like animals do,...
kesav1985 2 weeks ago
@kesav1985 I know how evolution works, but you are not answering my question. Why does it necessarily follow that a designer has to be more complex than it's own designs?
Inari1987 2 weeks ago
@Inari1987
...no aeroplane can fly like many of the birds, no ship/submarine can beat fish in the oceans, no computers can perfectly mimic human brains. All of these complex looking machines are, again, EVOLVED. we did not create them at once. It took 50 odd years to get to the present day computers, 2 centuries to build today's aeroplanes, but still they have so many limitations and still evolving. They took the combined effort of thousands of individuals, but not done by one man.
kesav1985 2 weeks ago
@kesav1985 No you cannot prove that the universe starts from nothing. What you CAN prove is that there is a universe and that is started somehow. Again you treat historical science as it is observational which is flawed logic. The creator doesn't "come" from anything. The creator is eternal. That means no beginning or end. You're trying to put something eternal into a finite dimension. Another flawed logic. Nothing CANNOT create something. That's nonsense.
zacrichey 2 weeks ago
@kesav1985 By the way, the simplest life form, a flagellum has 14 separate parts that create a mechanism. None of these parts function alone, they must be together all at the same place at the same time (indicating a creator). The odds of it forming ONLY ONCE (it must happen millions of times for evolution to be true, and with more complex mechanisms) are 1 in 10 to the 1170th power. That's vastly larger than the estimated number of ATOMS in the universe (10 to the 81st power). Science my friend
zacrichey 2 weeks ago
@zacrichey
Its always fun for me to see people like you talking nonsense in the name of science. Your statement about flagellum is wrong. Learn it before you make any such wrong statements. I am sure you must have heard it from some creationist's speech. Understand cosmology, astrophysics.
kesav1985 2 weeks ago
@kesav1985 And also, the flagellum statistics were calculated by a secular scientist who didn't believe in God. Have you delved into the statistics yourself? No. Then what right do you have to call that statement false. I'd much rather trust the one with a Phd. Not some random youtuber who has no knowledge of such thing. Once again if you want to find the truth in a debate, personal message me. Once again, insulting doesn't deduct from validity.
zacrichey 2 weeks ago
@kesav1985 It seems like you're being very insulting to others who don't believe what you do. Insulting anything doesn't make it any less true or valid. Blind faith is simply having a faith without backing it up. Anyone can have a blind faith no matter what they believe, as long as you don't know why you believe it. Evolution (the THEORY) is not an observable science but a historical one. You can't prove the past because you dont have it.

kesav1985 3 weeks ago
@kesav1985 Well first off I never told you what I believe. We all have the same evidence. The evidence is a constant. The interpretation is what varies. And you're use of cursing makes you look immature. Evidence doesn't disprove or prove evolution. Neither does evidence prove or disprove anything else. You cannot combat a theory with another theory.
Thus, the people who gave life look the same as they did 150ky ago
mikedav9O 3 months ago
@mikedav9O "The black Africans who started humanity are genetically identical to the black Africans walking around, today" Please state your source for this claim. 'Identical' definitely isn't the right word to use here, 'very similar' may be more appropiate. We aren't even genetically 'identical' to humans who lived 10k years ago. Fossils from about 150k years ago show humans still transitioning from more archaic forms in terms of e.g. skull shape to a shape that is seen in humans today.
RudinBiology 2 months ago

Son, you see the black people in this video? That's my source! Once, again, It's funny how white people claim to have the highest IQ's but do not have the basic reading and/ or comprehension skills that come with high IQ's. Do you understand this quote, white boy:

@mikedav9O No need to insult me now, I don't understand why you are so upset. I agreed with you the we all descend from black people that lived in Africa, so I think the one lacks comprehension skills is you...my disagreement had merely to do with you saying that today's black people are genetically identical to black people living 150'000 years ago. And that is simply false. Again, I did NOT say our ancestors weren't black or from Africa. Stop being rude now.

mikedav9O 2 months ago
@mikedav9O Yes they are very similar but by no means identical, but if you've got any evidence for it I'd love to hear it. There is more that goes into genetics than skin colour and Homo sapiens sapiens (disease resistance/immunity to name only 1 thing that were most definitely different in our ancestors, they were therefore not genetically identical).
RudinBiology 2 months ago
@RudinBiology
It is even stated in the video @ 10.05s
mikedav9O 2 months ago
@mikedav9O "Son", do I have to say it again...my disagreement with you was not over whether the first humans were black. I don't get why you keep going back to this point. I have a master's degree in biology, and as a BS you should know that saying something like "they were genetically identical" is just plain wrong. If not, you should read up on your genetics again. Stop acting like I'm attacking you or black people...
RudinBiology 2 months ago
@RudinBiology
That's stupid!
mikedav9O 2 months ago
@mikedav9O "no two black people even, today, are identical" Yes, now you get it! As someone with a BS in biology you should have known that using terms like 'identical' is wrong in this context.
"because Negroes, today, did not EVOLVE from ancient Black people" Well, humans are still evolving today, so I don't understand why you would say this. There wasn't a lot of change, granted, but evolution is ongoing, it didn't just stop 150k years ago...
RudinBiology 2 months ago
@RudinBiology
Thus, until man's specie's name is altered, our evolution process is one of stagnation!
mikedav9O 2 months ago
@mikedav9O "our evolution process is one of stagnation" I'm starting to doubt that you have any training in biology, because this is just plain wrong. And it's not just semantics, that's a pretty cheap excuse for being caught making false statements. Take lactose for example: some 10k years ago, no one could digest this beyond a few years of age, nowadays most people in countries with a tradition of dairy farming are lactose tolerant -> evolution is not in stagnation.
RudinBiology 2 months ago
@RudinBiology
Do you not have respect for the profession that you claim to own degrees in?
mikedav9O 2 months ago
@mikedav9O So first you say evolution of man is in a state of stagnation, then you say that evolutionary change in man is minute...so which is it? Just because you give a species a name doesn't mean it stops evolving. There was one study a few years ago that showed that recent genetic changes (about 40k years) account for about 7% of the human genome. identifying about 1800 genes that became widely adopted in this period of time. Minute? Not that minute. Significant? Yep!
RudinBiology 2 months ago
@RudinBiology
Relative to the age of earth, 150K years is not a significant amount of time for major change to occur in human anatomy.
mikedav9O 2 months ago
@mikedav9O Sure, if you think 7% of the genome in the last 40k years and 1800 genes adopted negligible you're free to think that. I never tried to insinuate that "the system" is fast, you misunderstood me once more. Yes, evolutionary change is slow, but it is change after all and certainly not negligible (unless you want to throw whole fields like the study of disease resistance, genetics in general, or biochemistry under the bus).

And my point is: The first humans on the planet were black people-- the same (anatomical) people walking around, today. The human genome has not changed significantly enough where blacks, today, are not the same as they were 150,000 years ago: anatomically or phenotypically.
mikedav9O 2 months ago

LOL Really? There are organs within our bodies that are considered "negligible" by practicing medical doctors: hence, the vestigial organs. The Ostrich, like humans, have wings that do not have any purpose and are considered negligible in flight. Just because we are human doesn't make us special.
mikedav9O 2 months ago
@RudinBiology

Good day to you!

@RudinBiology
All modern humans have African ancestors. These Africans 250,000 year ago likely looked like modern San People but with much more rugged faces. They would also be distinct from modern Black Africans, most of whom sprang from advqanced peoples who were descended from these Archaics. The populations outside Africa in general have less genetic diversity which means they are mostly descended from a small number of folks who left a much larger African core population.

"I watched the start couple of minutes and its BS. Caucasoids and Mongoloids didn't evolve off Some Negroid Homo Sapien.
For Christ sake Homo Erectus was the first to leave Africa and looked nothing like a Negroid.
Its called divergent evolution and black people today aren't our ancestors they are simply the evolved Homo Erectus that didn't leave Africa.
But from the start of this documentary it seems they want you to ignore real archeology and science."
Uh, nope.
EthanNin0 3 months ago

GodsSlave19 4 months ago
@FabDN41 yea it basically is, found no where in the quran they take "traditions" n cultures and try to make something out of it ..with the exception of polygamy, i have one spouse but some muslims marry more than one wife ONLY if the original wife gives consent for many reasons especially back in the days when one tried to conceive but was unable to do so she would herself recommend a second wife but yea your argument is like saying Christianity only hires pedophiles to preach which is not true
GodsSlave19 4 months ago
@FabDN41 lol thats hilarious keep preaching bush boy..if you knew anything about Islam youd know women were not only able to vote but had posiitons in government over 1400 years ago in Islamic society while less than 80 years ago women were finally able to vote in the west, other religions are from the same God except polytheist religions and they have freedom to do what they want in this life, Islam is against racism of all kinds.dont watch tv its dulling your brain down boy
GodsSlave19 4 months ago
@FabDN41 i like how you huddle all religions in one category and say there not compatible with anything because the west said so lool..who do you worship obama? because far as i know Islam an most religions have politics, law and science included in them especially Islam..the only intolerance i smell here is from the west
GodsSlave19 4 months ago
@FabDN41 lol your the only fanatic ..go read it for yourself im not making anything up the book is readily available..lol its probably just the george bush spilling out of you..sound just like him..lol am i an extremist terrorist 2?

so go read a quran youll see all these scientific statements that we just discover in the last 60 years and thats what i mean by they go hand in hand is that none of it contradicts the other
GodsSlave19 4 months ago
@FabDN41 well you dont know jack about science then and you definently dont know anything about Quran like most people from the west so i dont blame you..but basically Quran has in it facts about embryology, neurology, astrology, oceanology, biology, anthropology, zoology, microbiology and more and thats just the scientific aspect..all it states goes hand and hand with science today..this was written 14hundred years ago..
GodsSlave19 4 months ago
@FabDN41 nothing can exist without them and we all know life originated from water..without water ..no life..and thats not what i was even talking about..i was talking about our essence as biengs..people thought we came from outerspace or that God created us and put us here physically..the Quran says we werent a serperate creation but that we come from Earth..wether thats biochemical ,water, mud, ...we come from Earth is all i was implying
GodsSlave19 4 months ago
@FabDN41 Science shows that earlier great apes and the ones alive today are not as knowledgable as "Adam" or the first Homo sapienS sapienS and their descendents..unless you have the same IQ as a monkey..and then God tells us in all his scriptures that this was all in his control
GodsSlave19 4 months ago
there were other life during Adams time but the bloodline that survives is Adam and Eves ..we are their descendents
GodsSlave19 4 months ago
@FabDN41 your interpretation of the original creation is ridiculous, the first homo sapien sapien is Adam he was the first to have a critical thinking mind that seperates us from the earlier great apes that have only limited capacity..Quran says Adam was the end result of a process and that Allah gave him knowledge thus honoring him ( and us), us bieng from mud and water just means we come from this nature of 'arth' in arabic, 'Earth" in english all goes with science
GodsSlave19 4 months ago
@FabDN41 lol well if you knew anything about Islam youd know that the Quran, original teachings of Jesus and the Torah are all from the same source so if theres stories that are similar it dosent mean nothing and if the "myth" is legend then that would prove science wrong..like i said Quran and Science go hand in hand the quran would be wrong if the Earth is flat and if we came from outer space.....
GodsSlave19 4 months ago
@FabDN41 Yes, I do think they're both silly.
83Hammerhead 4 months ago
@FabDN41 Well, I won't be able to put a percentage on it. And this wasn't the main point I was trying to make. It really wasn't a statement of certainty, it was more relating to what GodSlave19 said and that even if the quran was closer to the truth, it would be nearly meaningless anyways in the greater scope of things. English isn't my first language, so I sometimes have problems expressing certain things correctly :)
83Hammerhead 4 months ago

83Hammerhead 5 months ago

@420scatman
I voted "dislike" because the documentary falsely claims that all living humans descend from one woman.
And I'm not a "he".
SinnFein4ever 6 months ago
@SinnFein4ever You could easily solve that problem, since it is a LOCAL, limited problem pertaining to YOU and others like you. You assert: Well, MY LINE came from that woman's AUNT!
And, then, if you knew decent science you're faced with what scientist already know, a knowledge that caused them to come up with the "one woman Eve" "mitochondrial theory": Your "aunt" was not "adopted" from outside homo sapiens! Nor did she come from Mars!
That is, the "sisters" shared one mother, "Eve."
HenryDavidT 6 months ago

I am a bit confused by this video - though mind you I only watched the first 7 mins.
As far as I know, we didn't descend from one woman. As the biologist Richard Dawkins said once, there's really no such thing as 'the first human'.

"I've never heard him say that."
Watch the video titled "Richard Dawkins on The Late Late Show 180909 1 of 2" - he says it 2 mins into the video.
Mattyb88ful 6 months ago
@Mattyb88ful I think what he means is that it took more than 1 generation to speciate humans.

For a description of mitochondrial eve from Richard Dawkins' POV read "The Ancestor's Tale"
Look up "The Ancestor's Tale" on google books and read pages 53 to 55
