  • This is a real nugget!

  • @TheESCALADO=small-brain longtail VERMIN !

  • I think Alan Yentob is one of the finest and interviews well. He extracts so much from his subjects. I am glad he brought to the surface what was going on for him, so that Dennis could explain further his art and his life through his work, gripping stuff.

  • A tortured genius...

  • I find all his talk deliberately obscuring. We must watch 'Pennies' and 'The Singing Detective' for their meanings. The work is enough. The talk is just talk. Does anyone agree with me?

  • I think the ideas his speech here are rather obvious and coherent, although I wouldn't be surprised if Potter is deliberately misrepresenting his opinions.

  • Did enybody else watch the interview with Melvyn Bragg - so much better than this interview in my humble opinion - by the way cannot find much on his classic - Blue Remembered Hills.

  • thanks for uploading this hereford - excellent stuff as you say. a very complex often unhappy man but an excellent writer.

  • amazing insight into his genius.. thanks

  • Great!!! Dennis was a wonderful writer. I have seen most of his television plays and mini-series.

my favourite is Lipstick on your Collar.

  • i love all of his works, intelligent & insightful - plus 1930s music - superb. i don't think 'pennies' & 'detective' can ever be bettered by anyone...

  • Wonderful stuff! Thank you. Would love to see his final interview with Melvyn Bragg again.

  • That is a great interview that I have on tape...nobody can speak as freely as someone who is leaving this realm as he was...

  • Did you buy the tape? I see it for sale on Amazon but don't know if it will play on my VCR here in Australia.

  • No...I taped it from TV (PBS? I forget).

  • Very interesting, thank you for uploading this.

  • You are welcome. Some of his points take some understanding, but once you understand, it makes perfect sense and applies to us all. Not many interviews like this these days.
