Finally! A Jazz musician who doesn't just type away with nonsense. Very poetic rendering....nice use of space between phrases. Around 3:40 it started to get a little less interesting and a bit too intellectual and less Blues feel...but nice conclusion.
@Rexicano Thank you! And I think you're quite right about the end of the solo. I'm not happy with it either.
But there's a good excuse for that. My camera uses up batteries too quickly, and the best video take does not usually coincide with the best played take. So I have to publish what I've got. I've been trying to convince myself to part with some cash for a good camera.
Awesome version of this tune! .....plus, your tone and phrasing are very smooth and organic...nice! Is there any way to get chord charts for your arrangement?
@thusken Thank you very much, thusken. Unfortunately, I don't do charts of my chord arrangements. I just read the melody straight from the fakebook, build the chords underneath it and more or less memorise it.
@danielmedeiros28 E aí Daniel? Põ, obrigado pela visita. Não sabia q vc vinha me ver aqui. Já viu meu novo? Assina o canal, q vai ter mais novidades este mês.
Sooooo smooth. I found you on Freddy's channel. You have the same amazing tone that Freddy is able to broadcast on You Tube. Love it. My kind of GOOD that I could listen to forever. I just started reading about Uraguay where you are from. It sounds amazing. I have a friend who wants to move there. America isn't what it used to be. :( The best to you.
@Harky1951 Thank you very much, Pamela. Sometimes I get it right. And don't worry about misspelling Uruguay. I live in Brazil now, and all Brazilians spell it Uruguai. And Brazil is actually spelled Brasil. So there. :•D
Wow, what a fantastic, smooth version. Your sound is rich and your playing - theme and impro - extremely fluid. Five big red stars from Switzerland, Jogi
Many thanks, JogiBass. As a matter of fact, when I first made theme arrangement all those years ago, I got the melody from the Real Book and I'd never heard any version of it. I think that must have helped.
Your playing is really astonishing ... Especially the "chord melody" part, which is incredibly fluid. This is the kind of video I could study for years ... Thank you !!
Hi Pablo... Very nice and despite the 'fuzzy' vid, there is some expert playing here we can all study. You lifted me off the ground! Thanks and regards
Well... Thats the first version of Stolen Monents that I prefer to the Lee Ritenour one I have on CD. Love all Jazz guitar . My only claim to fame is purchasing my Jazz guitar (Yamaha AEX1500) from Martin Taylor.
Thanks for the feedback, Freddy. Apart from the defective playing, the video itself is in very poor quality. I made some basic mistake while editing and cut off the start and the end; there are the flashes, &c. I promise the next version will at least have a beginning and an end... :•)
Very good playing, personal, tasteful, great motives that weave in and out the Tonality, fantastic chord-melody arrangement, nice natural sounding backing track, I'll be listening to this one a few times Pablo, just fantastic, really enjoyed this,Greetings Vic.
Thanks a lot, Victor. I'm not too happy with this take: I didn't concentrate very well. I want to record a better take and if you like this, I'm sure you'll enjoy the next one even better. Greetings!
Pablo, I don't know how you record, myself use the (old) technique first jamming for about an hour before recording, getting my chops together and natural flow. After that I might record several takes of which I make a choice,it works great for me,the meditation of really digging in the progression and groove before even thinking on recording loosens things up for me, like the foreplay before making love,LOL(what about this philosophy?) Greets Vic.
Yes, that's the way I do it too. I have some technical harrasses with the shooting itself. I shoot the video on a small & simple Nikon camera, which is short on memory. I also have to record the audio simultaneously straight into the PC, then upload the video into it, then fiddle with levels, synchronization, &c. Then the program crashes, &c. It's very time-consuming, & I think it makes me uncomfortable while I play. But as I've said before, I'm getting used to it. And sometimes is works well.
Absolutely rivetting performance! I made pretend those camera flashes were your appreciative audience members, capturing some 'stolen moments' on film! Bravo!
It's hard to imagine a better performance, but if you're able to manage, I'll also try to come back with a wittier comment! :)
It's the least I can do. (Some say the VERY
least!) By the way, many artists re-post a tune without erasing the first version. Since this one is such a hit, we could have two to choose from in future if you keep this also?!
