  • @vadrumrocks And therefor not cheap :(

  • I am not a real drummer myself. Just used to play a bit during college. But I didnt know it is possible to play the bass pedals so fast. I dont think I can even run that fast with my feet if I wanted to. Is there a secret?

Btw, the point is you are AMAZING and that is an understatement by itself.

  • @psbp123 Well, double kicks make it a lot easier, allowing you to use both feet.

  • @FakeSmileRevolution Which heads do you use on the snare, bass drum, and on all of the toms?

  • @AlterBridge11 There're all Evans Hydraulic Black (Snare coated). On the backside Resonant Black

  • GREAT !!! LIKE THIS

  • man this is super awesome !!!!!!!

  • nice. double bass incredible.

  • Fucking finally. A metal drum cover i think im in love with your take a little more than the vadrum version because its more to the style i play myself. Awsome mate

  • @spazdmunky Thx man, the Vadrum version is a little bit more dynamic since it is no metal. But cool you understand my style :)

  • trigger much?

  • this is fucking sick. but all of your cymbals sound the same. except your chinas, i wish there was more definition to them this would be amazing. but everything else sounds so good. i love your toms and you're bass drums and snare. you play so perfectly in time. very very good job

  • @zacharyvanantwerp thx dude!

  • can anyone tell me what cymbals those are

  • @JCustomZ Mostly Paiste Alpha. The 16" and 18" crash on the right hand side are brazilian Orion Revolution Pro (rare stuff here in Germany btw.)

  • @FakeSmileRevolution thx. great cover. btw

  • @JCustomZ Probably old Alphas, there is many diffrent Alphas out now, the Rock Alphas are my favourite :) Great drumming FSR!

  • @TheJarhead133 "Hydraulic Black" on all (BD, SD, Toms), Coated on the snare, "Resonant Black" on the bottom side.

  • Love the kit. You're very skilled. Very clean and accurate when you play.

  • @GateKeeper7337 Big THX for that. Accuracy is my little baby so I like it when people realize it :)

  • When I came to this video, I was going to look up something else after, but now after watching it, I can't remember what it was.

  • @badoosh12 Sorry that I messed up your searching intentions :P

  • You have all Stolen from vadrum

  • @Flyffer2011 Funny conversation... hihi... You dudes never read the first sentence of the video description, didn't ya? "Super Mario metal interpretation by Fake Smile Revolution. ---> INSPIRED <--- by the awesome Vadrum!"

  • @Flyffer2011 shut up noob

  • are those onyx heads?

  • @MarcAntoineVezina Nope, Evans Hydraulic Black

  • Haham Awesome job man! Love it.

  • dude congratulations you are a great drummer and that is the best metal cover of mario bros that i have ever seen... keep going like that you are great and nice speed on you`re feet...

  • very niceee!

  • nice work! i liked so much!

    extrema

  • @kevinfidow i aggre

  • @kevinfidow I'll provide a "HATE"-Button on my website for you :D

  • great cover man! really like how accurate ur bass is. whats the cymbol above ur 3rd tom?

  • so cool!!!

  • sehr geil =) Greetings aus Frankreich

  • Very good !!

  • wtf? your one hell of a drummer!

  • nice drumset..but i can only hear is more on double peds and cymbals..

  • @TheDom1328 As I wanted it to be :) It's not very "Tom-Heavey". Focus is definitly on the double bass in this one.

  • I got here from watching Vadrum mario bros drum cover and i was blown away! fucking amazing dude ! I thought, all you need is a blast beat and then there it was :D and by the way , your drums sound sick!

  • NOW DATS WAT U CALL DRUMMIN!!!!

  • very nice, loved the super mario 2 blast beats around 2:50! great job man!

  • is fantastic, can you send me your drum track without the original song, to make a weird contribution :) , i would lke record the song in a very freaky selection of instruments :D

  • i must say that i agree with trizzHHS

  • 3:24 thrash!!!!!!! :D

  • Vadrum is best of best

  • bloody fuckin hell. This is a great sounding drums. And great playing too.

    Good job.

  • Really great! Sick control on your bass too! Not trying to be negative or anything, but just in reply to some of the other comments: the bass isn't that fast. Don't get me wrong, nice speed and really clean, but "fastest"? I think the majority of drummers who own a double pedal or 2 bass drums can play at this speed. Having said that, great cover!

  • @trizzHHS thx, great post! i want to add 2 things. your right, most of the track is at 200 or 220bpm. this is pretty standard and after 2 years of training every drummer can do this really well. the 6/8 in the middle of the song ist at 245bpm and there i would say: no, this is not a common speed. it's really fast and not everybody can play it. second: speed is one thing (the easy one in my opinion) but accuracy is the more important part. only if you play accurately, you're a good drummer...

  • @FakeSmileRevolution

You're absolutely right, I caught myself exaggerating when I said "majority". I 100% agree, as I wrote in my first comment, that accuracy/cleanliness is more important than speed. Your speed is very good too, and I shouldn't have made it sound average. Maybe I wasn't paying attention for a the 6/8 section, but I just went and watched it. I guess the point I was trying to make is that some of the other comments were blowing the speed way out of proportion.

    Keep it up =P

  • that was tight and fast. how did you record snare and toms? are those special heads with triggers in them?

  • @Dieterbe Hehe, no... see the little Mic on the 3rd Tom? My cam has an incredible shitty contrast, I know. Toms are miced with Audio Technica Pro 35 and the snare mic is a Beyerdynamic Opus 88 on top and a SM57 on the bottom. Heads are Evans Hydraulic Black.

  • Is this quantized or are you a robot? Haha, still sick either way.

  • @StephenMcCabeMusic You can't quantize real drums I think. Your overhead and room mics catch up the sound of the bass drum and so it would sound quite shitty. But I never tried it. My bass drum is miced with 2 mics, one on the batter and one on the resonance head. Then it's mixed the normal way and then a triggered sound sample is mixed into the sound so it sounds more evenly. It's a technique used by most metal tracks. Some even mic the bass drum an trigger it with a Roland TD-20 or so.

  • @FakeSmileRevolution You can use Melodyne to quantize just about anything. Overdubbing with triggered samples makes sense, good stuff.

  • @StephenMcCabeMusic But if you quantize your bass drum track, you have the unquantized bass drum still on the other tracks like room mics, don't you? I can't quite believe that this can work... then you have to gate the bass drum out of the other mic-tracks or something like that. Don't know... BUT: If someone has to quantize his drum tracks he shout first learn this freakin instrument so he does not need to...

  • dude, seriously, you are like the worlds fastest double bass drummer... Evans black onyx? right on! I bought mine cuz i thought they looked cool, but they have a really nice sound... what kind of cymbals do you use?

  • tight playing

  • You should tell the person on the typewriter to stop typing while you play.I imagine this is what hell is like...

  • double or TRIPLE PEDAL??? LOL

  • @iamMuhammadWhite Nope, no triple ;) ... only 2 bass drums and tama speedcobra pedals... and a lot of practice...

  • your double peddaling is sick!!!!!!!

  • fuck yea man!!

  • one dislike by vadrum xD

  • muito xato prefiro o outro uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • putsss

  • dude... YES!!!!

  • SEHR geil! :D
