  • Geoff.... Really need to see a therapist pal.

  • bruce springsteen couldn't fill it either......who gives a shit?

  • oh my you've got issues.... enjoy the music

  • I think the fact that they had to move the upcoming Millenium Stadium show to the CIA due to poor ticket sales rather proves my point....

  • what is the point of your petty little argument geoff? so sad!!

  • brilliant, this a little insight for me and their cardiff gigs. i cant wait to see them there in august!

  • P.S. Every single gig I have seen at the Millennium has used the full stadium, apart from REM. Admit you have been beaten, you cunt.

  • You're quite right I've been beaten and I'm a cunt. Do you always get this angry about things people wrote about REM 10 months ago or is it especially for me?

  • Youjackbastard: With respect but you are talking outta your arse. They couldnt fill the Millenium. End Of.

  • i was right at the front infront mills. My last gig, and i have to say.....THE BEST!

  • Incidentally - did anyyone see Mike Mills doing a cover of Sweet Home Alabama with support act Idlewild beforehand?

    Fuckin Rockin version

  • I was there and was disappointed that a band of the calibre of REM couldnt sell out the place, and as a result they had to put the stage at the half way line and only use half the stadium.

Those wankers U2 could sell it out mind.

  • They only ever use half of the stadium.

  • They certainly do not!

  • Only in exceptional circumstances will they use the whole venue, the Manics millenium show for example. But there are not many acts in the world who would be able to fill a 70,000 seater stadium plus the pitch. And considering the other football stadiums they played on that tour had seating capacities of 20-25,000 plus the pitch that would equal about half of the millenium.

  • You've got it wrong mate. REM could easily fill a 70000 seater. They didnt sell many tickets for that date, thats all.

Rolling Stones, Madonna and many many more have filled that place. Its the exception that the entire stadium ISNT used - not the other way round.

  • Well every event I've been to there outside of rugby and football has only used half. Even the Joe Calzaghe fight only used half the stadium.

  • Well every musical event I've been to there has used ALL the stadium - apart from REM.

Think about it - if a band couldnt fill it to anywhere near capacity they wouldnt hire it out as it would cost too much. They would hire the CIA instead.

  • Well not really, the CIA only holds 5000 whereas half the stadium is going to hold roughly ten times that amount.

  • Youve missed the point, mate. They could have hired out the CIA for a number of nights and still made a profit.

  • doesnt reli matter though does it cause it was an fucking awesome show

  • Dear God! This awesome crowd is the defination of what "goin' apeshit" is all about. Simply beautiful for us REM fans. Big thanks for up loading ...

  • hey omg this was such an amazing show i was rite at the front singing my heart out stipe is a total legend rem r the best band ever rock on!

  • this was an amazing gig

  • Nice one,Great to see this from a different angle than my version, and with better sound as well.

  • I can't see you Robert! You should have taken a flag!

  • See that guy right in front of stage? That's me ;)

What a day. Almost exactly 10 years after the Arms Park gig on the same site. Interviewed Mike Mills backstage beforehand. Coo-uhl.
