  • Please all stand for the Shmup National Anthem! :)

  • such a fantastic game, definitely needs more recognition....especially since its on x box live now!

  • @EmporerM24

Reviewers said it was too hard. lol

I have never really played the game, I did heard it was hard, but beatable (learning patterns and strategizing, like any shmup!). It's sad that today, most new school gamers don't appreciate titles like this because it isn't ''new school''.

  • @Corad4 Oh yeah its beatable but let me tell you... It seems as if its completely unbeatable at first.. Its one of those games that, if you PERSIST, it gives you a glimmer of hope as patterns and techniques reveal themselves..

Its definitely one of the hardest shooters I've ever played. Plus the soundtrack is just excellent. By the time you reach the last boss the music just escalates and then very excellently subsides. It leaves you completely psyched. To be honest... There's nothing like it.

  • @Corad4

I never find myself playing games from my generation, i find other games from before much better! they should go bacj to basics, they only really pay attention to the graphics. they also want an easy experience its much more satisfying to play a game that gave you a challenge. both radiant silvergun and ikaruga (the sequel released on dreamcast and gamecube) feel better to play than call of duty or all that! just try and try again. they just prefer an easy win and flashy graphics!

  • @EmporerM24

They don't want it really easy.... but they don't get how you're suppose to experience the games.

Most reviewers bash them for being short, though they used continues. Common sensed players will ignore them to 1CC a game, which is truely rewarding if accomplished. Sometimes, they skip the most importants, like the scoring system, the way you power-up, the strategy, and all that. Atleast, we know that there are still alot of people who know how to enjoy arcade shooters still :)

  • Because 3 minutes just wasn't enough...

  • @FlagshipOnionhead And some of the parts are, the same actually. But from my own meager efforts at composition, I know one good melody isn't impressive, it's finding integrity / continuity building progression from there that's impressive. And that's the thing for me with this OST, it really defines emotional continuity..

Thanks for not getting defensive, it's just a criticism that seems to keep cropping up. But this music has so much wonderful texture under those more obvious surface features.

  • @FlagshipOnionhead

Without rehashing the issue of leitmotifs, I'll just say you aren't truly hearing the totality of the music then.

"Rehash" is an absurd term in this case. A handful of phrases and rhythms, adeptly weaving continuity through emotionally evolving (if also subtly so) and and very pertinent progressions, in no sense qualifies as rehashing.

Or in plainer terms, you just don't get it. *shrug*

  • This sound track CD is 3,000yen. But, 10,000 on the average even now.

  • Man this music...

  • So the composer also composed for FFXII. That might explain why I suddenly got such a sence of deja'vu when I listened to Radiant Silverguns music.

  • Best shooter music ever.

  • Sega Saturn, the Apex Console, Forever and Always!

And the Last Hurrah for REAL game music. As great as Sakimoto is, this OST yet stands apart, like it's the only one not constrained by idiom. Plus it's *realtime* baby!

Thank you for all these excellent uploads Digi, it's like every single game I own and love the chip-tunes from... here you are with everything in one high quality vid. ^_^

(it's just too bad Panzer Dragoon Saga doesn't have a hidden sound test though huh? lol)

'Origin' is such a sad piece...It's almost saying that...Buster and Reana KNOW they're going to die, and that even though they say things like 'We'll fight until the end' and 'We'll never know unless we try' as they make their last stand against the Stone-Like, they know wholeheartedly that they're only marching to their death, as the bells in the background mark their death knell. It's very sad.

  • I notice almost EVERY stage theme in this game is basically a remix of Return. They all pretty much have the same melody as in 0:00 - 0:38.

    6:01 - 6:10

    11:04 - 11:16, 11:48 - 12:00

    17:06 - 17:22

    21:05 - 21:18

Of course, that doesn't change the fact that they're all kickass pieces of music.

  • Probably the best music for a shooter and perhaps any game ever! The only thing I don't like is how most of the tracks are just rehashes of the first stage theme.

  • Be attitude for gains.

  • @LewisLongshanks

Naw, you bettuh be prayin', muthaf-- XD

  • FF Tactics !!! NICE WORK

  • This is the most wonderful thing I have ever heard... ~ Butt-head

I remember the ending boss , magnificent!

  • This game is getting released on XBLA!!!

  • The song @ 23:38 makes me sad for some reason. I dunno I guess its cus I wish japan was still making good games. Its 2010 and they suck at games. I'm sad.

  • @druha10304 they are remaking this awesome game i got my wish i think god heard me for some reason cause i always wanted to play this and i had dreams of playing this

  • @druha10304 I will half agree on that. I am also disappointed in japanese games. Like FF13, which absolute crap, to casual games. But from time to time, i find one game that really stands out, and most of them are shmups.

  • Thank you so much for uploading the high quality tracks of this amazing soundtrack.

  • Thanks for uploading this!

  • One thing i dont get is why the first track plays so much faster in the game.

  • It shouldn't. It doesn't for me anyway.

  • I wish I knew what the song at 23:38 was.... it truly is excellent.

  • Stone-Like

  • Thanks

  • OVER 10 MINS! How can you do that?

  • 23:38

The most epic song for a final boss. Ever.

  • Played this (again)yesterday on my m***d saturn...and oh boy , this game always amaze; me.

  • Thanks for posting this. Brings back a lot of good memories.

  • Epic!

  • Nice.

  • the music is easily the best part about the game

  • I want this game so much, but it is like over 100 Euros here :O

And I have to mod my Saturn first, which is like 50 Euro.

  • You can get all-in-one adaptoes that have a Memory Backup/RamCart/All region enabler ;)

  • i need to play this game again

  • You've heard of this game, too?

  • yeah i thinki played it or say it on the EGM magazing. i know stuff that way.

  • I beat the game at Otakon last year. I managed to find the game and completed it. Aside from that... Why did you block me?

  • i have no idea why i did. weird! anyways your unblocked. ^_^

  • Not only that, but you also removed me as a friend, much like FlonneAdmirer.

  • i only be friends to let's players/non-Let's players. Who are active. im really picky on who im friends with.
