  • Brilliant, Benita, I am posting this to my profile on Facebook, I like the slower tempo choice, you can bring out the lines better!

  • @dave12122 Thanks! So glad you liked it!:)

  • Really sounds like watering...! I like your interpretation..!

  • Brilliantly played! You seem to live in the music - you are a truly gifted pianist!

  • I love this piece almost as much as Reflections in the Water! It's my second favorite and it's the best rendition on youtube! Congratulations, I love this video!

  • Thank-you, my best fan!

  • Wow.... amazing.... I'm breathtaken!

  • Wonderful interpretation. I can actually visually see the water drops playing hearing your music.

Are you Vivian Yu's piano teacher?

  • I recently have been practicing on this, and almost got it down pack.

  • Peter, I have missed you so much. I'm glad you're back to youtubing!

  • I just love the way you play this, Benita. I needed to revisit it-it is spectacular! You are a treasure of classical music. I hope more viewers find this. It is truly musical.

  • Videos like this go into my favorites.

    Such beauty!

  • thank-you!

  • Very impressionistic! Excellently done!

  • Excellent, Benita! You really create a magical performance.

  • Glad you enjoyed it enough to revisit it!

  • I sure did! And I just visited it again. I really appreciate your music!

  • That's my goal!

  • Well, you've accomplished it!

  • The Jeux d'eau is so beautifully played! It is magical and dreamy, just like fountains. You play it so beautifully, magically, and dreamily. It's wonderful that you are sharing a performance of such quality! It is really reflective, and a real gift. It sounds so spectacular and virtuostic! I can't get enough of it. It's so nice to hear music as good as yours. Happy New Year!

  • Thank-you, piano50! Happy New Year!

  • imo its just too slow and dreary. Ravel once remarked that someone's waterfalls sounded sad after they played this piece too slowly.

  • This is in full Jeux d'eau which means literally game of water but actually fountains (I think!) Maybe I should check that on Google/Wikipedia becuase I don't want to embarrass myself with my poor French! This is a gorgeous composition - one of my all time favourites. I have a vintage recording of it (I think) by Cortot - again, I could go next door and rifle through 500 CDs to check this, but as they say, life is short, so too time spent on YT! Keep up the inspiring work!

  • You are right . It does mean fountains! Thanks, again!

  • Very well played Benita.

  • Bravoo.....This is amazing...So so so beautiful....

  • Very nice performance.

  • Beautiful performance, Benita!

Personally, I prefer the tempo a bit more fluent with more dynamical contrasts. But there is a lot of tranquility in your playing.

  • Beautifull performance.

    Thanks for posting.

  • winglai114- Thanks!

  • So beautiful!!!

  • Thanks, Vivian and Linda!

  • What a great performance!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks, George!

  • Some people play this very rapidly, but this speed is just the right tempo-base for this piece! We can actually hear the notes, not only the pianist's technique! 5 Stars

  • tomokioh- Thank-you for appreciating my playing!

  • Bravo! you have an amazing talent, purely inspirational.

  • Thank-you,icedragontt!

  • Nice. :)

  • LonePianist3- I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank-you!

  • Very inspirational! I'm amazed!

  • Beautiful! You are great!

  • Thank-you!

  • Very nice. What is it about Ravel that's so hypnotic? I find the same 'feeling' when I listen to Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit. I wish I could play _any_ of them.

  • I find the melodies to be absolutely haunting...

  • It's funny how these old folks in the audience sit very calmly all the time and only when the pianist plays the trill between both hands they start trying to see what she's doing there...:D

  • Wonderful performance. This piano piece is about water, and you can hear water dribbling and drippling especially at the middle part of the performance.

  • This is really nice playing. What a shame that the person taking the video did not have a good view of you!

  • Thank-you for your comment. Unfortunately, the stage hand did not place the piano in the center.

  • I really enjoyed your playing! Bravo!

  • Thank-you!
