Amy Adams is a rising star in Hollywood, with Oscar nominations under her belt. Dana is an unknown in the film industry. Movies are made for the sole intention of making a fortune. They don't give a shit if Amy Adams looks like Janis. They'd make Julia Roberts Janis if it brought more people to the theater. Sacha Baron Cohen is only playing Freddie Mercury in a new movie because the remaining members of Queen said it shall be so. I'm sure Hollywood would instead go with James Franco.
