You're not going to come park that at my pond are you...lol..just kiddin'. Sounds like an interesting idea...at least your money would be buying you something instead of going to rent. I always thought it would be cool to live on a boat. I probably wouldn't think so if I actually tried it though.
There is a book and video at the library that tells you how to locate a motorhome. There are many things that can go wrong with them so you are better off making sure of what you are getting into. If you are looking to do some traveling you might want to look into living out your car of getting a camping van with a nice scooter on the back. Then there are other ways if you are handy you can get a old diesel school bus and get your hands on camper parts and assemble you a place yourself.
@cdltpx Craigs list can get you in touch with some decent motorhomes you would be better getting a camper and this way you can set camp then use the motor unit to get around. If you get a motorhome you have to break camp to do things if you don;t have a scooter.
@cdltpx those are some good tips. i am a pretty good mechanic and DIY sort of guy so i'm not too worried, just need a haynes manual for the motor and im good to go. i've also check craigslist and others where there are indeed better deals, i'll continue the hunt. don't you worry.
@paradoxdesigns Well if you look in my favorites I am sure you will find some ideas there there are things in there that you have never seen I guarantee it.
@EricTehRedneck i basically do everything inside of one room which is actually smaller than that motorhome, so when i'm home i just use it for using the PC, sleeping and even eating. i think i can handle it :)
not to squash your dream of becomming a "trailer park boy" but why not do the actual mobile home thing or do you just want to be mobile and able to move it whenever you are ready to? reason i ask is you may wind up spending just as much on a motor home as you would a good used trailer.
@daddytech i want to keep portable so i can move around, do a little travelling while i can. this is only going to be for a year or so max. i'm just sick of paying rent.
@mmlrc6atgmailcom its actually really expensive to live on house boats out here, and it would be incredibly scary in the winter when we get 60+mph winds.
@Peppercatkeith ohh, you'd be suprised at the prices ive seen around here.. this place is full of seniors so theres no shortage on motorhomes for sale.
