@CrazyForKate March my friend, only a couple of months, it's renewed for a sixth season and possible the 7th season which Weiner said would be it's last :)
1:05 If you put on headphones, you can hear an eerie wind noise in the background. It's a sad and lonely sound. You have to wonder why they put it in the final cut.
@john3000931 Don told her wife he was not going with her to visit her parents on thanksgiving; after he realizes the importance of her and his kids in his life he changes his mind and tries to get home in time to go with them. [first part seems to be his imagination of a "happy ending"] but when he arrives they were already gone.
@hahaseb this is bob dylan's version but theyve taken it off spotify and its not on youtube either :S try buying on itunes or on bob dylan's website perhaps?
I love the contrast here, too. Draper is old school, traditional, sexist, very 1950s. Then Dylan comes in and he might as well be singing "the times they are a-changin". New decade, new attitude, new society. And the one thing that's represented here - the crumbling of a very typical 50s marriage - is made all the more heartbreaking because Draper saw it coming but is surprised anyway.
@eventheblackonesdo She's pretty damn disagreeable in the show. She's also a very ineffectual parent. Funny thing is Draper's a better parent, and with all his philandering and drinking, he's at least honest about his flaws.
@whoareyou342 Same here. I caught this scene while channel-surfing and started watching from the first episode. Seeing how forlorn and lonely Draper looks sitting on those steps is enough to keep any man from cheating - or at least to make him think twice before he does it.
@NerdsWithGlasses ya i know what you mean. i would have loved the happy ending, but i suppose that wasn't likely. It really was all don's fault things worked out the way they did.
I want Season 5 NOW.

Only saying... but..
Don has a car... and how cheap was gas then?
He could have driven to the moon, let alone his inlaws!
And by the way if you're in that position and feeling like that, just jump in the car and step on it...!

Don Draper sitting on his stairs, heartbroken, thinking about all his flaws and mistakes. With Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice." What an amazing show.

I honestly started watching this show after seeing this because of Bob Dylan at the end.
