hey sly, I would recommend using a shiny red balloon so you can jump even higher. and if you have already beaten the goblin invasion you can find the "goblin tinkerer" underground. he sells a crafting station that lets you combine accessories so that you can get the benefit of both of them combined and save an accessory slot.

Obsidian Skull- Protects from blocks.

Obsidian Skin Potion- Negates lava damage completely.

So, he can mine hellstone without worrying about mining out places to stand or dieing.
