No way any M3 tuned or not could keep up with an R1. The only cars that could beat it would be high end supercars like Bugatti Veyron, Koenigsegg etc. and in all fairness if those cars are allowed such exotic materials and engines then bikes should be allowed to use turbos, big bore kits etc. There's a turbo busa' that can do the texas mile at 256mph!!! That puppy will slam dunk one down the Bugattis mouth.

@DANNYE60545 lol maybe, maybe not. It would have to be a major tunning job. I owned an e36 M3 and it was putting out 240HP and weighed over 3k. My R1 is putting out @180 tuned and weighs 450 or so. Now dont get me wrong my bike is not unbeatable but you can say anything can beat something you just need to have the money and know how. With that said I will gladly take on any e36 e46 m3 tuned or not. I have raced an 2009 M5 and he didn't get in front of me for a sec. (rolling highway)

@joker1180 not that much tuning is needed on top end a ero model 321hp in good nick will do 290kmh+ so on top end at least just a charger is nessasary to get it to higher speeds of 300+ and if im correct the r1 standard tops out at 312 +- ? i hammerd one at sea level on the coast and only got 308kmh 193 mph so standard both are verry close at top end. off the line bmw wont stand a chance so top end run the bmw wil eat it with minimum mods.

It's too much speculation, but any moderate street car needs 500whp to keep up with a good 600cc rider, a 1000 is a whole new animial, especially at higher speeds where the 600 starts to drop off. I previously owned an e36 m3 and will tell you it needs a seriously worked motor to keep up with a sport bike, it would have to be turbo charged and dyno tuned by the best. It's old technology that isn't fast any more and requires a ton modification to keep up w/ anything.
