Personally I loved the clip and it did not spook me at all! I only wish that MORE TV was in this style!! GREAT WORK!! MUCH BETTER than a lot of the Manga crap out there today! Oops, did I just let my bias slip out?

anthony...Flash was the software package I and fellow animator Sam Leyja used to animate the commercial. Then we had our compositors run it through Aftereffects for the vintage scratches and stuff to make it look older.  I got the color palette from watching the old I Love Lucy opening credit animations from, like, the 50's.

I am the animator who designed those characters and did the animation...lol...yeah, that family IS pretty scary! I tried to make them very "Bewitched" and '60's, and the creepy, mechanical clap cycles are an homage to the television commercials of that era. I did that commercial months and months ago, and the song is STILL in my head! funny to see it on youtube.
