@nosyfieldstone YEAH HE PLAYED WITH ED SPARKS,AND THE ELECTRIC SPARKS AT THA KINSMAN GRILL...ALSO THE HOME OF A GROUP CALLED KINSMAN DAZZ,LATER KNOWN AS THA DAZZ BAND..GET BACK TO ME ...I GOT SOME SYORIES 4 YA I KNEW THA FUNK MOB-WHEN THEY CAME TO TOWN,THEY SWOOPED ME UP,AND IT WAS ON THA 1...FUZZY,BERNIE,GLEN,GARY,BOOGIE,MIKE,RAY,DAWN,LYNN,BOOTSY,THA WHOLE GANG...I WAS A STAGE HAND,BACK IN DEM DAZES,LOVE YOUR SITE,,IT IS WE-FUNK NOW!
@SOMEADATT I am pretty up on the funk history but that is a little part I did not know. I've been following them since the 1970's. My first show was 1977 which was the Funkentelechy tour. My favorite tour was the Funkadelic "antitour" in 1979. Saw them play at homecoming at NC A & T with the Brides. First time I saw Blackbyrd McKnight. Got to meet the band then. I always liked their accessibility. They will miss Garry Shider big time.
I missed the Feb 08 show but this show was better than May '07. I liked the variety and I enjoyed seeing Kim Manning on roller skates during Red Hot Mama which I'll have up shortly.
That was my first George Clinton / Parliament concert. I waited a lifetime to see it. It was the best concert ever for the first 45 minutes...then the funk turned into a Pink Floyd jam session. The upside was that there were a lot of hot redheads in attendance. I was standing pretty much beside where this video was filmed from.
You were just in front of the dude with the flashlight. The one that got in a fight about midway thru the concert. It's cool that you got in with a video camera. I'll remember the next time that they don't search you at the door.
Yeah, there was some drunk guy behind us jostling around. Anyway, I shot this on a Canon powershot camera. I would prefer to use my Sony handycam with stereo mic but didn't try to get it in.
can't stop the funk...

I was the guy in the purple pimp hat. If you were there, you'd remember me.

I saw you in that purple pimp hat. I was in kind of a funky hat three or four rows from the stage to your right.
