...It is a girl singing that part. These TV spots were lip-synced. They were just being silly in this one; at least, I think it was supposed to be a joke. I mean, they hardly made an effort to make the instrument playing look like it matched up to the song.
I thought the sweet thing in the red bikini, doing the dancing up front, was the fasletto voice on the songs opening. Would've never guessed it was a guy.
The drummer looks like he was about 13 years old - which, as it happens, is the age I was when this movie was released.
But who cares what he looks like, when the fringed-bikini go-go dancer is in action? We would probably all enjoy seeing more of her and less of the others in this scene.

@TheFloridaPappy - They did record it. I play in a band with a guy who can sing that high part exacly. He can also imitate an ambulance siren, it's really bizzare. It's not a hard song to do, it's only a few chords.. The hard part is writing something like this. Everyone thinks they can write hit songs by themselves but it is virtually imposssible. You need different people focusing on the same thing, giving different angles which is what they did. The Doors wrote almost all their songs that way
