@TheKnittingSongbird - there is something to be said for purity. Listening to music from days gone by, there is a purity and unadulterated quality to much of it, that has been given up to and usurped by technology.....and they wonder why so many singers lip sync these days.
Fell in love with her in 1969 and that fire's been burning ever since... and I know she's not quite the same on the outside... but then, neither am I! Only she can still sing but I can't. Oh Well!!
my mom used to sing this song to me as a child . when Linda sings it , she reminds me of my mom . its like she knew all along how I was gonna turn out , smh .
This is amazing! Is it possible to download this somehow? All the versions I can find in for ex. iTunes do not have that high note at the end, and she goes lower in other parts as well. This is also the only version I can find with only piano. Someone?
I'm 57 and I am from Linda's time. I just listened to this song by Carrie Underwood whom I love, but not even Carrie can sing this song like Linda! I think Kelly Clarkson would do it as well or maybe even better than Linda.
@cricketandbuddy I have a hard time faulting Carrie Underwood. I just did the same thing, and the worst part of Carrie's version is the electric guitar that announces itself when it shouldn't have. That I would blame much more to today's music. I would have to wait to judge Carrie until I hear her singing without everything else except for a piano or a guitar.
Is that i was seeing so far this same video that was already close to half a million views, and days ago that i don't see, that's why i asked, thank you for your interest, and thanks again because your videos has very good sound to enjoy this wonderful woman linda ronstadt for me the best singer of the 1970s in usa
Thanks so much for posting this. I only remembered her as a great singer and beautiful women when she was a really great singer and amazingly beautiful
Just the first word she sings give me chills. This live recording captures the spirit in the room, silent introflection and the joy of savoring our pain while in company of good friends.
You just want to eat her with a spoon, then drink the milk at the bottom of the bowl...

Now these backing musicians from this concert are what I call 'musicians'
You get sick of casual, unmusical studio musicians backing these great singers of modern history

Without the piano and it would still have blown an audience away. Try that sometime, Lady Blah-Blah.
