I'm an athletic young man, and watching this (and the Olympics in general) does nothing but make my chest feel like it's going to explode in happiness. I think it's beautiful to be able to see people who have worked so, so, SO hard for there time to shine, for some that is less than 30 seconds.

Congratulations to any medal winners, and anybody who didn't win a medal should be just as proud to be part of a celebration of human achievement.

It surprizes me how many people confuse special olympics with paralympics there two totally differant events. If we had more national coverage might clear that up for some folks. there are able bodied people in some games at the paralympics, such as basketball for instance, people should research more b4 commenting on here

You discriminative bastard. Yes these people are DISadvantaged, even if they have both arms and legs doesn't mean they are NOT disabled. They could be blind, deaf or even have down syndrome. Explain to me how they are not DISadvantaged with that kind of disability, is it fair to put a normal person up against a person with that type of disability? I think not, next time think before you type because accidents do happen and most of these people arn't born the way they are.

I really respect the athletes, they have trained their whole lives to participate in the events. A guy was making fun of the paralympics contesters in my class and as soon as the lesson was over a few guys taught him some values. He went home with a black eye. I have so much admiration for the athletes and if anyone tells you otherwise, give them the middle finger.
