@hussnfussel7 "The Run" IS, indeed, a grande movie!...& those two lads were in it, but...well, BUT I was busy keeping my eyes on Adrienne Barbeau...and Farrah.
@don417 Although the Nipponese had the sailing capabilities to discover the N. American Continent centuries before the Europeans, their maps were devilishly ill-conceived and...and well, not-to-be-believed.
@hussnfussel7 You had "a thing" for Harvey?...a Harvey Girl? Do you, Huss-N-Fuss, have a sister named Huckle-Buck? You're a neat person...would 'ave liked to have known you!
Probably most of the viewers decrying the PC movement here have never been on the receiving end of bigotry. It's enough when an ethnic group makes fun of itself, it does not need input from another ethnic group (including white)
@gabsylv EVERYONE has been subjected to bigotry & hate (& Love)...it's the Human Condition. It's a prideful concept to believe that there's an inherent uniqueness to it. The mature amongst us refuse to take-it-to-heart and place scant attention to it. The immature...well, moan, complain and feed on self-pity...and see little humor in life. I know that you are NOT one of the latter as I have seen your excellent videos.
I remember watching this as a youngster. Yes, we are a very sensitive world now. But I always like to think there were two enterprising Japanese sailors trying to attack Cleveland in thier submarine. Nothing against the city, just so silliy makes me laugh today.
Actually this is very similar to the current slapstick comedy on Japanese TV. There's a very popular comedian named Shimura Ken who's been doing this stuff for 20 years.
@pepsidrylok And THIS is why a "PC Mindset" is a vile and despicable one...to be shunned and made fun of. (You ever notice that they possess NO sense of humor...a marked characteristic of evil?)
That might be a little extreme to say I think. You should be able to be funny without the joke being at other's expense. But the PC movement has put certain reservations into people and shut off entire genres of speech and belief. The end of all seems to be that people are less likely to use assertiveness and directness. Which is a marked characteristic of no character.
@crusher1944 What is worse, an innocent bit of ethnic humor or initiating a war (Dec. 7, 1941)? My wife (Japanese, herself!) of 44 yrs., thinks this skit is great...and VERY funny! But then, she DOES possess a grand, and lovable, sense of humor...able to laugh at the foibles of individuals AND groups. Yes, even racial groups. The inability to show it today, is NOT a bad comment on the comedy, BUT the idiots in charge of programming.
Pure hilarity! Pity the trash on TV today that try to pass themselves off as "comedy".

Evidently someone did not see Cannonball Run. They were two japanese men in the race that were hilarious.
