This is how I see it. Drifting is simply where the driver intentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels through turns, while preserving vehicle control and a high exit speed, with the front wheels pointed opposite of the direction of the turn. Therefore, you can drift a FWD car, but you can't maintain it by steering/using the throttle like in a RWD.

If you disagree, that's fine. I'm not trying to start a fight. But that's my opinion on the subject.
