i have a camera with night mode and it picks up the tv remote at night. people say it wont work unless it is 0 lux but myne is 1.1 lux do you know if this will work.
wow.. usually you never expect someone who shoots stuff and do mechanics to be a woman.. usually you'd expect one of them hardcore rednecks(not that i have anything against them)
@biscuitbuilder: the purpose of an IR filter is to turn a regular flashlight into an invisible IR flashlight for stealth purposes (this is not well explained in the video). It is not to allow a camera to suddenly have nightshot. There is no easy way to convert a regular camera into a nightshot camera. This is because all cameras have a filter which _blocks_ IR light (you can see that in the video where she shines the IR flashlight with nightshot off) to allow accurate color representation. When
hi there, was just wondering what model handycam you are using is, im after a nightshot camcorder for the very same reason as you.........night time vermin control
ive been looking at some sony ones, but not all have night shot, can you recommend any? also price is a slight issue, as i dont want to be spending loads
Hi, Great Vid but im puzzled about the IR filter. Does that go over the IR lamp,if so why? is the IR lamp visible to the naked eye if the filter isnt used.. Excuse my ignorance.
Hi CC, really like your vids as they're both entertaining and instructive. Can't say much more than you've got me back into air rifles! quick question (as I'm a novice) - do you prefer 177 or 22 (or 25) for rabbits? that's what I'll use it most for and I'm going to treat myself to a pcp..... And - where did you get the posh illuminator (long black thin one) please?
@tjp203 Thanks. quiet a few hunters are turning to .177 as a head or heart shot is best in any caliber and the .177 has a flatter trajectory so there is less drop and that makes it easier for different ranges! The IR laser I bought off ebay, I will send you a link ;-)
Hi there; thanks for your inspiring vids! I'm building an illuminator by converting a maglite style torch with focussing to IR using IR LEDs and current limiting circuit but I'm not sure how powerful to make it. Clearly your setup there is very effective! Could you let me know how many LEDs there are in your preferred illuminator (the posh black one) or preferably the power output (maybe somewhere around 300mW) and the wavelength (maybe somewhere around 880nm). Many thanks!
@lespaulify Hi the more LEDs you can use the better as they don’t give out the kind of power needed for a camcorder, the lower the nm the better if you can find 800nm they are less visible to the naked eye ;-)
Im just getting into night shooting, im getting an infra red light which fits to a scope. Can I fit or buy filters to put over the end of my scope so i can use it day and night or do i need an IR scope? All very confusing for a beginner lol!
Five stars. Thanks for taking the time to explain how it's done. Very impressed. I like your relaxed attitude in making your video clips. Plus, I like a woman who's interested in guns. ;)
wow your shooting is awesome and woah your a chik nice shooting i cant believe (you being a chick and all) would even shoot them let alone ppick them up after that nice best of luck on your hunting
Just like PCDTSME I was pleasantly surprised to find out that you are a woman. Awesome. Simply awesome. I recently purchase my first air rifle and looked up air rifle vids so I could learn as much as I could and came across your night shooting vids. I have the same camera and you've given some great ideas. Thank you and keep the videos coming.
@snypercat I was just as suprised as blackperro86 haha ,... I was thinking of a young man until I saw this video. I really want to complement you on your shooting and on this excellent educational video of how to set up a night vision system.
I got only springer airrifles with heavy recoil, But I will try this setup in the future.

Hi Emma I have my Handycam dcr-32e I just need the adapter rings Oh and I would like your msn addy if you dont mind so I can pick your brain. PS There is a thread on airgunforum all about you ;).
The .22 has a new home now. well the Daystate has an annoying mag reloading method as does an S410 and a BSA, the Daystate is the worst to load though, I havent ever used Falcon or a Theoben but they are more money too. The HW100 has a regulator, a great magazine to load and is very simple and has the best system of cocking also and not a bad price for what you get!
It's so nice to see a lady talking about shooting and shooting gear, especially one who seems genuinely knowledgeable. You've obviously been shooting a while and worked out what works for you. Thanks for sharing quality information. Best wishes Emma
Thankyou so much, if I am not sure about something I say things like "about" or "I think" of I "believe" LOL but thanks for saying I got it about right. :-)
Good video, alternatively you could do what i do for night rat shooting; Buy a cheap red flood light and point it at the bait, they can't see it/effect them.
I cant believe your a women, this is why females should stay out of politics.

Hi,
I'm confused as to the point of the IR filer if your camera already has nightshot.
Isn't it completely useless unless you have a source of IR light such as the lamp or illuminator?
Would really appreciate a reply, thanks :)
