its not that big it looks like it with the keyboard out but if you do a comparison with your fingers across the screen its the same size as the axim. i have an axim and i think its alright sized
Nice review! Can you post a video showing us the device in use during a phone call? There is no review showing tha basics: the device AS A TELEPHONE!!! Thanks in advance!
While it has phone functionality it isn't something that is really advertised much. The phone functions are the same as any other Pocket PC Phone Edition device, except the call only comes through the speakerphone (unless you have a BT headset connected). There are some screenshots of the phone in my full review on ZDNet Mobile Gadgeteer.
I showed SlingPlayer running for just a couple seconds. It takes a minute or so for SlingPlayer to optimize to the connection and it actually plays decently on the Advantage. i will be posting a video soon that has a few more examples of video playing from various locations that I think will better show the video capabilities.
Yes, it rings like a phone (with custom ringtone support out of the box :)). All calls go to speakerphone though so you don't knock yourself out trying to hold it up to your head. The best way to use it is with a Bluetooth headset of course since it really isn't designed as a mobile phone replacement.
Skype works OK, but the volume has to be down due to the speakerphone. I plan to try Skype with a BT headset and other VoIP clients, like fring, that will be mentioned in my full review.
Thanks for a thorough reply. One last question if you know. Speaking of Skype, do you know if you can configure VOIP or SIP phone on this device just like you can with Nokia N series. I want to be able to configure my Broadvoice service on it. I heard that WM6 does support VOIP calls.
I thought WM 6 was supposed to support VoIP, but I don't see that in any devices to date. I have found the Nokia S60 devices to be the best at supporting SIP functionality.
is it a cell phone too or a mini computer

It is Ultra Mobile PC..
I don't know what can be compared with this one. Of course, higher model is shift but more expensive.

If i have my SIM card in it, does it really ring like a phone when i get a call?
Also does anybody know if you can make VOIP calls? or configure your own SIP provider?
