On my server we blew up a mountain range then covered up the damage and built on the new flat land, this always plays when we're in the buildings...

I have yet to visit the Nether. I have seen ghasts in videos. I used a program to input a bunch of ghast spawners into my world. Try having a Ghast Mobspawner in your map. Going by it, looking away for half a second, looking back and a ghast is right there spitting a fireball at you. It is surely enough to make you fly out of your seat and wake up.

@BarrellyRoll No...it's the ghasts screaming. The loudness of their screams aren't affected by distance. I had one escape into the real world into my game and I could hear him scream as he flew around :P
