A very very big thank you to Tony & the gang for making all the pakciks & the makciks, afford to fly to see their children studying in UK!! We are very sad on the latest news on air asia finally withdrawing european routes. We're going to miss it & would be very excited if air asia decided to resurrect those routes in the future. We will wait!
omG this is why i haaate being on airbus a330/a340...the engines on these planes have that high pitched noise and its SO annoying. B777 engines sound SO much more cool when they go full power and they dont have that annoying high pitched buzzing noise. i flew once on an airbus for 10 hours with this same exact noise. put me off airbus planes forever...
if i'm not wrong the plane is flying towards port dickson because i landed on this runway 2 times and when i land i turn from the legendary water chalets and land in 3 min
@Shakemagroovethangg what makes you think that a343 is an underpowered a/c? just because for a long haul like KLIA - Stansted, it must take full tank fuel which makes the a/c very heavy and thus taking a longer strip for t/o. t/o time depends upon many factors such as a/c weight, OAT, rwy pressure, wind direction, etc. a340s are very powerful.
oh, disappointed !! The captain was too careful !! The take-up time is much slower than normal !!! He needs exactly 60 seconds to take up ? God !!! Normal time is around 40 seconds !!!!!
@talkonfox It's got nothing to do with the Captain. The Airbus A340 300 is quite an underpowered aircraft. Going from KL to London, it would be very ehavy indeed. With it's slow acceleration and high takeoff speed, it's gonna need a lot of runway and take a while to reach rotation speed.
@amirappleseed The plane was belongs to Air Canada in the past. Until recently Air Canada sold their A340 to Orix Aviation. At the same time, AirAsia was looking for plane as part of the expansion plan so they decided to lease "not purchase" from Orix Aviation. Until the lease period expired, the plane will return to the plane yard and wait for its destiny. So it is clear that the plane was "rented" not purchased by AirAsia.
@amirappleseed No, AirAsia X does not bought any plane from Air Canada. They lease from the airline in order to wait for Airbus A350 XWB rolled out from factory. In fact, the new aircraft is on development stage. Until the replacement is available, AirAsia will keep them as part of the largest low-cost airline fleet in Asia.
Malaysia Airline is still the best given we get the lower fare ticket but isn't it good too that Malaysian also have choices like Airasia to choose when Mas's ticket is too pricy sometimes and unaffordable.
You say this, but have you actually thought about it and how an electrical device such as a camera or ipod could crash a plane? Because the answer is a resounding NO. If this was the case you wouldn't be allowed to turn on electrical devices at all whilst onboard, not just takeoff and landing. The only reason I know that they ask you to turn off all devices is because takeoff and landing are the most dangerous parts of a flight and you need full attention! So there, "Stupid PEOPLE...Lolz"!
@domjw0012 couldn't agree more... people are just ignorant..in some videos inside the cabin of emergency landings you can hear the flight attendants in the background chanting "brace brace heads down stay down" repeatedly yet you see people upright in their seats looking out the freaking windows...you wonder why so many of them (predominantly asians) die in air accidents.
Yes and try getting a signal at 37,000 feet... The real reason they ask you not to have a phone/electronic device is so that you're not distracted if the plane experiences an emergency. Last thing they want is to tell everyone to brace and some idiot with his iPod in not doing it.
@vulgarmachine2 ummm... LMAO, it is because it messes with the navigational devices onboard the aircraft.... Thus the pilot receiving wrong information such as heading and altitude...
Nah, the navigational devices onboard the aircraft are built to withstand interference from electronic devices. Whenever a plane takes to the skies it is surrounded by thousands of signals from phones. It is mostly the distraction factor with a slight amount of interference with ground - aircraft communication (whilst taxiing).
I've seen pictures on google images of the Oakland Raiders liveried plane. It really stands out to the airline and to Stansted. A few photo oppotunities to the planespotter at Stansted.
how was the air asia x to be honest? how about the food? the service threat by air asia x and the most we all need to know the comfort? thank you from your experience and shared with us anyway.

@mu54f1r you forgot that every airliner tries to use up all the runway to save fuel on takeoff

Switching on electronic device on plane won't cause plane to crash. Only making phone call on cell phone are banned on flights.

true but it might disturb the plane's computer @Danielyeoh5885
