I am seriously thinking about buying this thing but I've heard differing opinions about the battery life. When you say 5-7 hour range which CPU is that for? May I ask if you went with the i5 or i7 configuration?
@hagbard012 We tested the 1.2GHz Core i7 640UM version. Battery life has become relative in this day and age of excellent CPU and OS power management. Systems go into standby so quickly and effectively that a battery charge lasts a long time under normal use. If you go uninterrupted full throttle, it's less. Btw, the full report is on RuggedPCReview.
Grafight2, the Motion tablets are "vertical market" products built to higher specs than consumer products, hence the higher price. However, I am convinced we'll soon be seeing iPad style tablets with combination capacitive/electromagnetic digitizers like Wacom and N-Trig offer. Those will combine the convenience of touch with the precision of a pen.
I feel sorry for all of you caught up in the buying and trying (stylus) game all of these alleged stylus companies have you stuck doing. There’s only one stylus for touch screens and that’s STYLUS-R-US. They have 35 different styluses, all with the same tip that requires literally zero downward pressure. Stop blowing your money on crap and check out beststylusDOTcom. Now that’s something to tell others about.
Question: Do you have any idea how well this would work with programs such as Photoshop, Maya, and Zbrush (photoshop being the most important)? I'm very interested in having a tablet PC that I can paint on (I'm a digital artist). Unfortunately, there's not really a lot of info out there on this matter and I'd SURE like to be informed before I drop 3Gs on something like this. I'm most concerned about performance and pressure sensitivity.
The J3500's battery capacity is 60 watt hours, and it draws as little as 10 or 11 watts, so battery life may, depending on usage type and power management settings, well be in the 5-7 hour range.
RIP motion computing, you made awesome stuff during the last decade but lenovo will crush you

まだ遅延が目立つな。デストクップコンピューター用OSであるWindowsに、タッチパネル前提で作られたiOS並みの挙動を期待するのは難しいか。

Thank you for the review. I like the option of touch or pen.
This would be an iPad alternative if it didn't start at $2,000.
How much did it cost configured the way yours is?

Excellent video. If you were to use it to take notes at a meeting, how long will the batteries last? Thanks for posting a great demo of the unit.
