But now my problem is these darn clowns trying to host it... I never ran across this issue before so i dont no if they will kill it from being rough on it or if it will make it.. This is a new test for me, so im going to see how this plays out.
I also notice when i use to do constant water changes or try so hard to keep my water fresh and sparkling clean my corals didnt grow!!! Soon as i slowed up on water changes and let nutrients build up and let my water stay some what dirty they exploded and grew so fast from frags!!
I've had mine for awhile now and it's even had another spud so now i have 2 lol...i notice the trick is do not have really clean water..They thrive when your tank has nutrients and is not overly clean...Also they like a medium flow just enough to shake them and love to be on the sand bed. Mines open up so beautiful the baby spud started doing it now. But they key is also to spot feed it brine shrimp every other day. Turn off the flow for 10 or 15 minutes or so to give it time to eat it.
@hollabacknow8557 The clowns did not seem to hurt it becuse it was always extended. They were actually pretty gentle with it. I could be wrong. I actually almost bought another today to try again. It was bright green with lots of color, but I didnt.
@AquaticCastle Where were you 5 months ago. lol. It died for no apparent reason. It looked very healthy. I heard they are very hard to keep alive in an reef tank. It was one of my favorite pieces.
@rockman386 Flowerpots live in turbid waters and don't have well developed eating habits. I suspect the nutrient richness of their water is the reason. Placing them in an established tank with frequent gravel stirrings may help. Anemones need lots of light and frequent feedings and they can outlive your grandkids. Zoas need lots of light and do well with lots of fish. Like flowerpots, they don't eat much but need nutrients. More info can be found about all three at aquaticcastle web site
@cpenn1118 I had the flowerpot first in my tank. The two clown fish were added later. They started hosting in it the 2nd or 3rd day. They guard it with their lives. One of them will bite my hand when I get too close.

You should put an anemone in there so the flowerpot coral can get a break. Flowerpots can be damaged over time by clowns hosting in them.

cool, Ive never actually seen that how they host, Ive read it and in movies but thats cool that they do it in a fish tank too.
