@Franknarfable if you study the bible there are many things in there which are actually refernces to creation and the laws which dictate why things are like they are. take for example the book of Job chapter 26 verse7 which states "he hangeth the earth upon nothing", how did the writer of this book know this in such a time as when the book was written. God has sighned the bible with his signuatre many times it only takes simple understanding to see this.

Honestly, that's really interesting, but unsurprising to me. I have always thought the writers where very intelligent and used number systems and hidden meanings. I don't think it happened by chance, I think the writers knew what they where doing.

@jesussoldier007 - I suggest keep your faith in a "higher power", feel connected and go with your gut in situations. Most people avoid similar situations but call it intuition. The historicity of Jesus and the writings of the NT are a completely different subject. If we wish to validate historicity then we need to examine evidence and see where it leads us. No matter where it might take us.

@Sojourneer - It's in the Jewish War by Josephus written in 74 AD. It's not an interpretation it's clear as day right there in the text. This Mary is annoyed that the Romans keep coming and taking things from her, she snaps and eats her own son in front of them during passover.
That's five events (including that one) that match the New Testament in names, locations and sequence in which they appear. That's some coincidence. And I take Josephus over the NT any day.

@Franknarfable if you study the bible there are many things in there which are actually refernces to creation and the laws which dictate why things are like they are. take for example the book of Job chapter 26 verse7 which states "he hangeth the earth upon nothing", how did the writer of this book know this in such a time as when the book was written. God has sighned the bible with his signuatre many times it only takes simple understanding to see this.

What exactly is he supposed to know? It's not like he is saying it's the gravity of the sun and moon that keep the earth steady. He is saying it's "nothing". It's hardly a revelation, it's the equivalent of saying I've no idea how the earth is suspended in space. Perhaps I am simplifying it, but I tell it how I see it.

Honestly, that's really interesting, but unsurprising to me. I have always thought the writers where very intelligent and used number systems and hidden meanings. I don't think it happened by chance, I think the writers knew what they where doing.
Go to wiki and look up Philo then go to the chapter Attitude to literal meaning. Read down his list of special rules. That's how clever these writers where.

@jesussoldier007 - I suggest keep your faith in a "higher power", feel connected and go with your gut in situations. Most people avoid similar situations but call it intuition. The historicity of Jesus and the writings of the NT are a completely different subject. If we wish to validate historicity then we need to examine evidence and see where it leads us. No matter where it might take us.
Have faith, that's fine, but tackling someone on historicity and you'll come up short. Peace.

@Nazdahr so the songs starts off "Here I am" and the picture when the lyrics start is an artwork depicting a person face down. I spend a lot of time near the water, since I live in Louisiana ;-). So the picture right before the lyrics starts sort of show me, cause I have long conversations with the Lord when I walk alone down by the Gulf of Mexico or Lake Ponchartrain. My secret is out: I find peace and gratitude when I gaze upon an endless horizon or the fall leaves along the Natchez Trace.

I belived what secular history teaches us, and that is that Christianity was promoted by Paul of Tarsus, who saw in the Nazarenes of the time, and opportunity to build a heresy against the Roman Empire, whom he he supposedly wanted to overthrow. Creating the Christian movement. It made sense at the time and I was satisfied. The code of Hamurabi was another point of contention. Very similar to the Mosaic law.

@fintalily Actually He does say that. And his name is often translated as "I am", which seems equivalent to "I exist". Doubting didn't start with the modern era, although it certainly has degenerated judging from the comments you get on these videos :(

@learnthetruthtoday Muslims use the same type of mentality when interpreting the Bible. "Jesus never says this, Jesus never says that." God intended us to use the brains He gave us. So when Jesus says He will lay down His life for us, He meant it. Just like when He said "I and My Father are One," Muslims will say "well yah but His exact words weren't 'I'm God, worship Me'... it's a ridiculous basis for an argument against truth.

Jesus Christians appeared much later, post Roman victory. It was the Romans who wrote the Gospels. The ministry of Jesus is a satire on the campaign of Titus. The parallels between them are irrefutable.
Titus begins at Galilee, his men fish the enemy out of the water. Titus then goes to Gadara. In Jerusalem a woman called Mary eats her son during passover. 3 men are crucified, 1 survives. Simon is killed and John is spared.
Same sequence, names, locations...

Jesus predicts that a generation after his own, a "son of god" will destroy Jerusalem. Is that correct? Then a generation later Titus fulfills that prophecy.
Jesus predicts Simon will be killed and John will be spared. In the Jewish War, Titus kills the rebel Simon and spares the rebel John.

@Sojourneer - It's in the Jewish War by Josephus written in 74 AD. It's not an interpretation it's clear as day right there in the text. This Mary is annoyed that the Romans keep coming and taking things from her, she snaps and eats her own son in front of them during passover.
That's five events (including that one) that match the New Testament in names, locations and sequence in which they appear. That's some coincidence. And I take Josephus over the NT any day.

However, the key, once more is humility. God understands our nature. The devil understands it also.
