  • At address, Vijay bends over the ball too much at the waist. It is better to keep your upper body more erect and stand taller. This more erect upper body posture makes it easier to keep perfect balance throughout your swing. You will hit the ball farther because good balance is an important source of power in the golf swing.--GS.

  • Watching Vijay hit balls is a trip. He is always using some sort of gadget. Usually has an umbrella stuck it the ground in his line

  • @dhopper11 is that the crap that somax is trying to sell? i thought all you had to do to get rid of those microfibers was get massages.

  • lets see an analysis of Gene "The Machine" Littler, his swing was very conventional as well

  • @dhopper11 Vijay is one of the best ball strikers in history. I don't think he is fighting much, except for his putter. It would be hard to argue that having the hands come in above the original shaft plane is more "natural". It just is what it is. I happen to think that coming in on the shaft plane makes wrist action through impact less complicated.

  • Hey wayne, if you have the issue of the head moving back and the body moving under you, but have the hands coming in high, how do you fix it? Any drills to keep the head over the ball and the body back so that the club can come back in on plane?

  • Great videos man! Can u analyze Dustin Johnson or bubba Watson or maybe compare them

  • thanks for this great info on Vijay's swing.

  • @wdefrancesco no man seriously . You're sitting in a chair commenting swings and you think you know about golf , i,m sure you dont have handicap . man play golf , it,s more funny than talking talking and talking , because you are soooo boring , and you have a annoying voice too , ciao NOOB !

  • @sandersuperfollador the man has played in 8 majors and has more playing ability and knowledge of the game then a lot of teaching pros, he's been on the top 100 teachers list numerous times, so if you think he's another Johnny Miller, you are as wrong as wrong can get, in fact I'm willing to bet you are a sad, soggy golfer with no real game, you go away

  • @sandersuperfollador Stop doing the idiot? Is that a dance? Did you ever see the Monty Python skit "The Ministry of Silly Walks"? Very funny, and you just reminded me of it, so thank you.

  • Vijay is not the most media friendly (for valid reasons) or talkative of golfers, but I'd love to hear his thoughts on the golf swing and his approach/swing thoughts and things he's tinkered with over the years and how they've worked out (or not) for him.

  • Hey Wayne, would you recommend that someone who tends to come out of posture copy Vijay's downswing & release pattern? I've worked for years trying to keep my head on the starting line, but I don't think my back/hip limitations will ever allow that; consequently, my arms, as you put it "get out and come in high".

Thanks again for an incredibly insightful video.
