  • How can you not like this? 17 career politicians?

  • Greenspan and Benanke sold their souls to the devil for the NWO.

  • About why you didn't testify in congress. You will be pushed and shoved into the pasture because you ruin everyones fun. I think your great Peter! I just want to encourage you to keep it up. You will be one of the countries great leaders only after we hit rock bottom. When that happens you will have an opportunity to rise to the occasion and help lead the country out of the ruins. The only challenge you will face is maintaining your morality once you take the leadership role.

  • This is why Dick Nixon took us off the gold standard back in August of '71 (I'd graduated college that June)..the French had amassed tons of dollars and were attacking our gold supply.."Screw the French, Besides I need more dollars for the Viet Nam war anyway" said Dick...

  • Here's what this shitbird isn't telling you: Wall Sreet was leveraged at 40 to 1 before the meltdown...in other words for every buck Lehman Brothers was putting up it had borrowed $40 to make it's investment bet...when it lost the bet they owed $40 they didn't have...except it wasn't $40 , it was $40 billion ...when they're that big they take the system down with them...Congress is searching for a way to prevent it from happening again..

  • @bellcord What is needed is not more regulation. IT'S HONEST MONEY. This central banking fiat money nonsense is the culprit. It results in 90% of the worlds problems. It funds war. It drives your taxes up. For fuck sake, does it make sense to you that our nations currencies are LENT to us as PRINCIPAL PLUS INTEREST. We can't pay it all back for that reason and it creates preferencial lending to firms like Goldman Sachs, Lehman Bros. etc..Why not start looking at the basis of our money!?

  • @seraphimWILLunite Well okay sera let's push the 'Magic Button' and return to the Gold Standard...at a $1000 a troy ounce Fort Knox has $300 billion worth of gold...unfortunatly on any given day the US money supply is at $5 trillion dollars so you've vaporized 85% of your money supply...that'd be a big hit with everyone but ah wait, it gets better...the Chinese hold $3.2 trillion in our debt which they can now convert to gold...Pssst, our gold's gone, we're bankrupt sill owe China $3 trillion

  • Its not idiocy, its protecting the elite ruling/owning interest . Capitalism is the imposition of minority interest over the immense majority and governments everywhere are just pimps of the ruling class interest. Mr.Schiff your reports create more illusions

  • @arzoyan We do not live in free market capitalism- thus blaming capitalism for the problems is irrelevant. Free market capitalism cannot exist when Govt/Central banks issue FIAT currencies and through law (Legal tender laws) make it the only form of currency (by force-that is what a law is). Free market capitalism MUST have competing currencies with GOVT issuing ONLY gold and silver currency. No currency competion= no capitalism. Capitalism is NOT in practice ANYWHER IN TEH WORLD- US included.

  • @ser Free Market is a myth, the dominant section of the Capitalist class have always used State as an instrument of Power to further their monetary interest, Your comprehension of Capitalist socio-economic reality is partial, subjective and can only add to confusions about the real Contradictions of Capitalism and the necessary solution to a Market System of artificial scarcity that perpetuates the wage slavery of immense humanity.

  • @arzoyan So for somone who presumably cares about "the greater good" why would you think this artificial scaricity is a bad thing? Wouldnt it stand to reason that we need to be as productive as possible as a human race, our population grows exponentialy, we are approching 8 billion. If you were to discourage competition and wealth creation for profit, you would be ensuring a mass starvation in the third world. Or is that part of your environmentalist agenda? So much for humanism.

  • you got my vote!

  • This must be brain TV, because mine is very happy after listening to this...

  • lol Schiff and his intense stare

  • Why is it that from the end of the Depression until the era of Reagan's deregulation there were no financial meltowns whatsoever and then came the savings and loan crisis, Japan's lost decade, both Bush recessions, and now this?

  • Oh, and Black Monday too.

  • I don't know why I threw Japan in there but you get the point.

  • But there were. There were recessions throught that time period. Just google "recessions in america" or something to that effect.

Things are worse now more than ever because every time there's a recession, the government and Federal Reserve deals with it by printing and borrowing more money. Today, the numbers are just so much bigger than before.

The problem has always been too much regulation. The Great Depression was "Great" because of government spending and control.

  • @brothermikefan - all part of the plan. The problem with most people is they are indcotrinated to scoff and dispel the truth as a "conspiracy theory", All of these small minds cannot plan beyond tommorow and so they discard the possibility that we are seeing a plan unfold that is centuries old, maybe even millenia, carried over by generations on end. Ignorance is bliss maybe, but having your head in the sand does not mean a predator cannot see you.

  • the "in-between" times you are talking about were all mired in wars, the banksters were happily and busily extracting profits from the death of millions, then they allow society to build itself up again, then apply new wars and other pressures to loot the people yet again. It is piracy, plain and simple. What is really sick is that people vote for these pirates.

  • I suspect the reason they do not raise Fed interest rates and want to add the basis point tax is so the government can borrow interest free, but the financial service industry cannot get the 'free' money.

  • you are a true patriot! dont be discouraged by all the insane pressure that's come and coming...you are one of the few slim chances of hope for the US to turn this titanic around

  • anybody here on medicare?

  • Ron Paul 2012!!!

    Ron Paul 2012!!!

    Ron Paul 2012!!!

    Ron Paul 2012!!!

    Ron Paul 2012!!!

    Ron Paul 2012!!!

    Ron Paul 2012!!!

    Ron Paul 2012!!!

Please copy paste this and spread it as fast as you can. We must all take a stand and fight these mongols.

  • I'm for Ron Paul, but seriously... spaming youtube comments isn't going to result in your desired outcome. Why? Because its annoying!

  • Twiggy you are an idiot. You make these far fetched and crazy leaps about " needing morals more than ever" what a tard. I could do whatever I wanted and it would be moral as long as I thought so. With no one else around I am the moral authority.

  • I guess I would have to ask you, what are morals? How do you judge something as Moral or Immoral? What is the standard of value to determine this judgement?

Why do you assume there is no such thing as a moral action if there is no one but yourself around?

Btw, you show how mature you are by your handle, whats wrong? Was your daddy in the KGB and told you bad stories about captialism?

    Loser.

  • What does my handle have to do with what I said, buddy ? And no he wasnt in the KGB. He didnt tell me bad stories either, but I have seen how great capitalism is lately. My Dad lost his job and I have been unable to find any work for over seven months. Great system huh? Banks have billions, oil men are filthy rich and I can barely afford beer. I know capitalism is immoral and not capitalism is moral.

  • @randsaloser

Capitalism hasn't existed for 150 years my friend. "regulations" are what caused this banker theft..

  • My answer that I found in my own life to this question is this...I have a conscience, I know how I would want to be treated and should treat others in that way...

  • ethics and morality have just as much to do with how you treat yourself and what you find of value to yourself, as they do with other people. So you've not really answered any questions.

How do you know how you want to be treated? How do you make that kind of decision? What is your "Standard of Value" for making judgements on how you treat yourself, your surroundings, and other people?

  • "How do you know how you want to be treated?"...Again I say II have a conscience...if you don't know yours maybe you should get to know it...

  • "Again I say II have a conscience" You're not getting off the hook that easy my friend.

    What is a "Conscience"?

How does your "Conscience" decide that which is good, and that which is evil?

Is this an automatic thing, like your heart beating? Or does your mind control your Conscience?

Do you understand what it is your Conscience is doing when making value judgements? What do you use as the basis (i.e. good for who? Evil for who?) for deciding what is good and evil?

  • Can all you do is question? You won't get answers from questions alone my friend but only through your own experience. Read Karl Jung and William James and maybe that will help you find the answers you seek. All I know is that once I was able to tap into my conscience I found myself with good friends and in a Universe that makes sense to me...I don't claim to be an intellectual or a philosopher but I do know right from wrong and I believe that it is not too hard for anyone to...

  • My questions we're constructed in a way to force you to acknowledge HOW you arrive at moral and ethical judgements. I know full well what my standard of value is for making moral and ethical judgements, and I recognize how I come to those conclusions.

"I don't claim to be an intellectual or a philosopher but I do know right from wrong" - To arrive at a conclusion on what is right and wrong, is a philosophical question. Whether or not you consciously do so, or not.

  • "My questions we're constructed in a way to force"...so forcing someone is good? Have I forced anything on you...I don't claim to know anything so you win...but I still say even little kids know right from wrong better than even adults...

  • You're taking my use of the word "Force" out of context. That is intellectually dishonest on your part.

The point was not to "Win" as you're trying to use it. I was simly trying to get you to look at the fundamental necessities when coming to a conclusion on what is "The Good"

the question i've been repeating to you and other people of what is the "Standard of Value" when judging what the "Good" is, is a simple question to answer. The answer is yourself. Your life is the standard of value

  • Now we have gotten to a point on which we both agree...the standard of "good" lies within each individual to decide...I lean toward the Transcendentalists that finding good in oneself is an anti-intellectual process...

  • ads -

"I don't claim to be an intellectual or a philosopher"

"I lean toward the Transcendentalists that finding good in oneself is an anti-intellectual process"

I was going to say that this makes you contradictionary, by first saying you're not philosophical, and then saying you lean toward Transcendentalism, but since you're right about Transcendentalism being anti-intellectual garbage, I wont.

Btw I was NOT saying that morality is Subjective.

  • contradictory*

  • I think just the fact that we have discussed such nonsense on YouTube and you seem so set on convincing me of something you have failed to communicate to me tells me its time for us to see our psychiatrists....

  • its prof in itself that fact that they dont call someone like peter to testify why we had this financial disaster, that they are either in on the whole scheme or they dont want to know the truth. they want to keep this wwe entertainment of a political show on for the people to see and behind the scenes the do the real thing. truth is stranger than fiction.

  • Ethics is an OBJECTIVE metaphysical necessity of mans survival.

I quote from Rand Man has been called a rational being, but rationality is a matter of choice and the alternative his nature offers him is rational being or suicidal animal. Man has to be man by choice; he has to hold his life as a value by choice; he has to learn to sustain it by choice; he has to discover the values it requires and practice his virtues by choice. A code of VALUES accepted by choice is a code of morality.

  • Tam exemption for employer provided healthcare is what fucked the system.

  • we should destroy the insurance companies, it's legalized stealing.

  • ACTUALLY DO IT

  • Hey schiff-head, stfu.

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!! this is great. Just remove the subsidy! I love this guy.

  • Google "Barry Soetoro."

    (We're in big trouble.)

  • that's because he is not really a "politician"

  • The majority of the citizens of the United States of America do not support your insane view. Remember, in a war people fire back, violence will not work .

  • if the whole health care plan is unconstitutional then would it not follow, that if challenged, the Supreme Court would strike it down?

  • Haha yeah because the Supreme court has been so awesome in striking down all the other unconstitutional "laws".

  • Schiff's made me a ton of money!! Especially this year!!! Thanks Peter.

  • He lost 70% of his clients investments and all the two of you can say is... durrrr, you're stupid, duh, oink, oink.

Is he sucking you off good?

  • No he didn't; They were 70% down during the crash of 2008. That doesn't mean they "lost". Everyone during that period were down.

His clients are all back up and making good money. It's disinformation levied against him.

  • and you believe everything you read?...dope

  • SCHIFF IS A DUMB ASS!!! His portfolio lost 70% and his only claim to fame is how he "saw" the financial disaster coming. Wonder how he would have done if he had not seen it coming. And how the hell do you lose 70% of your portfolio after seeing perfectly what will happen in the future??? It's only possible if you are really, really, really STUPID!!!!!

  • Schiff is the owner of an investmnet firm...Do you understand the difference between that and "losing" 70% of your personal portfolio? There are some really really dumb people on youtube, I agree, and you are perfect proof of it.

  • stupid like.... you?

  • Unfortunately many people out there might not realize that they in fact have one of these Cadillac plans. There are a lot of small to mid-size businesses that offer them to full time staff, who are typically middle to upper middle class working folks.

    Read my lips....oh wait.

  • Someones gotta throw this guy in front of Bernanke and let him go to town...lol

  • I just hope the citizens of Connecticut are aware and smart enough to elect this guy into office.

  • total douche

  • Gov. plus money is like oil and water...they just don't mix! They don't know what they are doing. All that education and they are still dumb! Great video.

  • @IZACHE1 I find it hard to understand why government subsidies raise the price of stuff? I get it for education loans but not for agriculture.

  • Addition to low rates and subsidies is an IRS code that rewards leverage accounting. That is, risk is rewarded with tax incentives. If the code was changed to reward asset based accounting, risk would be rewarded with profit, a healthier approach for a sustainable economy. But, like a flat tax, it's too simple, works well in market economies, and reduces government involvement. Things are shaking out well just north of you Peter. Might be the shape of things to come...

  • my man schiff. he has to win..

  • We do not live in a true democracy,If we did he would have a shot.

  • that is the best plan for healthcare change that ive heard

  • I hate the word cadillac being used. It's not flashy, it's not a car. It's medical bills and hospital visits!

  • This makes all too much sense... Peter Schiff rocks!

  • The point is "The banks are looting the nation."

  • Health plans are income, they should be taxed. They are a tax loophole as are expense accounts, dual use items and other perks.

  • I agree, anything that the government subsidizes causes the price of the product or service to increase. Too many examples of this prove its not just theory.

  • Men like Peter Schiff are a national treasure.

  • You see, once I hear a Libertarian say "Unconstitutional" I know they're arguement can only go down from there.

If we want to talk about Unconstitutional, why don't we talk about torture?

  • @TheKevinWalker You are right, torture is unconstitutional, I believe Schiff hates the fact that the US is torturing people as much as anyone. I can't see that specific issue address on his site, but he's in the same camp as Ron Paul, and Ron Paul has a lot to say about how horrible (unconstitutional) our policy on torture is.

Also, I'm curious why once you hear the word "unconstitutional" an argument "goes down hill"? I think, if it's made well, it is one of the best points someone could make.

  • and you are in the insurance business?

  • stop the new world order pete!

  • oh everyone its doomsday, get your guns, stock 3 years supply of food, buy a bar of gold, get your pig and build an ark.

oh wait, the dow is at 10,600 and jpm is allocating 9.3b in bonuses. 24-48 months of bonus for everyone.

ok false alarm, party time for everyone again haha.

  • @trinomialtree Just wait, cause theres alot of things going to happen.

  • wait for what? i certainly hope a lot of things are going to happen, the more chaos, the more opportunity to make money.

  • Giving the employee the money to buy his own insurance policy ? What a joke. That will never ever happen. Most people would not spend it for his own insurance policy. They would take it and spend on something else. People are just as idiotic as the government is.

  • I AM STARTING A MOVEMENT IN THIS COUNTRY. IT IS A STATEMENT. THROW EGGS AT GLASS WINDOWS and DOORS OF 2 BIG 2 FAIL BANKS!!!!!! Apparently we are too little to GIVE A SHIT!!!!! The asshole media, banksters, Corporations and our government cannot or refuse to hear our cries and feel our pain. They spend our money as we lose our jobs! Lose our homes! Our children are starving! So go out there and throw eggs at them so they know we are pissed off!!!!

  • Hey who removed my antisemitism post?

Cant someone draw a parallel between shrewd greedy egocentric Jews and the financial mess this country is in?

No ones censoring all those n igg er coments all over the

    Haiti message boards.

Not many colored Aristocrats calling the shots on YouTube I guess.

  • brotherjupiter, 2 wrongs don't make a right. Schiff wants government out of everyone's business. It's nothing to do with anyone's race.

  • imre1000

You have to be kidding me.

Deregulated corporatism got everything they lobbied for over the last decade but failed the people miserably in their attempt to proxy govern through their bought and paid for peoples charlatan representatives and you want to continue this failed experiment.

After they blew up the lab , University and entire town with their

    highly explosive greed!

  • Lobbyists and greed will always be around. It's up to the Government to reject requests that are un-constitutional.

You are right about Corporatism being to blame. Schiff wants to get rid of it and reintroduce Capitalism instead.

Thomas Sowell explains this pretty well here: /watch?v=E1KwkScA540

  • Government is based on the initiation of the use of force (IUF). This is true because taxation (of all kinds) is coerced.

The U.S. "experiment" of limited government has proven to be a colossal failure.

Keeping around a group of people with the legal right to IUF leads to one group imposing its will against another; to use the gun of gov to their advantage or to force others to not smoke pot for example.

The root cause of most problems in society can be traced to the IUF of government.

  • biggest problem in the US are there low taxes. to secure human-social-rights like "health care-social security "- or or benefit your citizens a life that´s comment in the EU. - the PIGGYS might have to pay the bill!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude....you can always move to Haiti.

  • Have you ever listened to him? He has stated on many occasions that he would be perfectly happy for Goldman Sachs to fail and that his favour cannot be bought by private interests. I think your comment is nothing more than anti-Semitism.

  • No shit.. I looked that up and I did see him say that he was for bombing Iran if they got nukes (obviously to protect Israel I'm assuming). After all, if we weren't in Iraq and Afgahnistan why would it be a threat to us? Iran's neighbor's maybe, but not us. That does imply the neocon philosophy of foreign policy. And here this whole time people thought Schiff was a Ron Paul, he is on economics but not foreign policy. He won't win anyway.

  • As much as I like Schiff, that is something that bothers me. Another thing is that he idolized Ronald Reagan (the first prominent neocon). OTOH, the idea of Iran with a nuclear weapon and missile technology which they already have could severely destabilize the region.

  • He did say that he was only for bombing things though, and not a long drawn out occupation with troops. Yeah right... Donald Rumsfeld said that too. "The light-footprint strategy" Peter is a good economist, not a good foreign policy guy. Therefore he should stay being an economist if you ask me.

  • Yep. Schiffty Pete sounds just like Dcik Cheney, doesn't he?

Just for the record, Schiffty's economic forecasting record is mediocre at best. When the facts prove him wring he just changes the time frame and moves the goal posts.

In May 2002, Schiffty predicted that the Dow would fall to 2000 within two years. That never happened, of course. Investors who followed Schiffty's advice got creamed.

  • @AtlasShruggery, the people on this channel know a bit better to be swayed by childish name calling and bringing up useless facts about short term market timing.

Feel free to continue anyway, I just don't think you're going to have much luck with it

  • Thanks. So, do you think Schiffty Pete's call to bomb Iran connected to his prediction that the price of gold will rise to $5,000 per ounce?

  • AtlasShruggery, I think you're rude and childish.

I think $5,000 will come for sure.

I don't see the connection between this and Iran.

  • That prediction has no time line and a qualifier (if current monetary policy doesn't change). I have heard Peter say again and again that he can not and does not try to time the market, but instead deals in long term trends. I don't know why you call him "shifty Pete" because I have never heard him be manipulative or change what he is saying depending on who he is talking to.

  • Hmmm. Did you know that in May 2002, Schiffty Pete predicted that the Dow would fall to 2000 within two years? How'd that work out? Do you think Schiffty's prediction that the price of gold will rise to $5,000 per ounce has anything to do with his call to bomb Iran?

  • @AtlasShruggery They've dumped trillions of dollars in printed money on us since then, idiot. As far as "call to bomb Iran" please provide a link so we can see your claims in context.

  • obama is the modern Hitler, forcing the US towards National Socialism, making people more dependent and reliant on government.

Real unemployment rate is now at 22% and is getting worse, about equal to adding the populations of the 20 largest cities in the US.

The longer people are unemployed the more compelled people will be to join the military.

obama is already sending more than 30,000 more troops to the Middle East.

Fact: obama is spending more on military than President Bush ever did.

  • Peter Schiff What do you think about Jim Rogers on CNBC:saying Agricultural Commodity Prices To Go Through the Roof and stay in gold ? and i do Tell all my friends about Peter Schiff! and Forward the Peter Schiff was right videos.

  • Get out of gold. Get into small-scale (family and/or community) sustainable farming. Learn about permaculture principles. No large-scale factory farms. No poison pesticides. Nature will work for you, if you will only allow it to do its thing.

  • "The greatest threat to a government is people who think for themselves. If you condition people to everyday, all day, depend on the government to do their thinking for them they will become more obedient."

  • He is obviously reading from a screen or something. It makes him look silly and cheapens his opinion.

He has to look in the camera like for example this one: watch?v=3o7xZ0Lw9r4

Nothing wrong with using a autocue, but please make attemp to hide it!

  • @gijs370 You obviously never heard him speak in a debate or a live interview. The guy knows his stuff.

  • I know... I'm not attacking him. I just want to help his campaign. Maybe someone close to him reads my message and tells him.

He is looking to something above the camera which appears to be a screen or something. This suggests that he is reading from a script.

It is better for him to look at the camera like the example i gave.

  • @gijs370 he isn't reading from a script, lol

  • He looks above the camera. I don't care if he reads from a script.

It's better for him to look at the camera like the example i gave.

It is important for someone who wants to win an election

  • There is a rather large nationwide group of non-partisan folks you may wish to check out called the Oath Keepers whom are strictly constitutionalists and will protect the rights of the citizens. They are mainly comprised of military folks former and present, police, firemen and other civil servants.

  • watch?v=lKR5q1rUxV8

  • Common sense is never politically acceptable.

  • I like Schiff and all, but I'm starting to notice that he's falling into the analysis trap: he's great at analyzing and criticizing, but I'm starting to wonder if he would actually be able to make DECISIONS, as a senator, in REAL-TIME.

  • I think he would. Monologues such as this video are one thing, but his performance in interviews and debates is typically also very good, answering all kinds of questions quickly, completely, and decisively. The problem as I see it will be if people do not like the answers he gives or the decisions he makes, because I am not sure how far one can realistically compromise on matters of economic and personal liberty before effectively sacrificing one's principles completely.

  • I can only hope that Connecticut people are wise enough to get this man elected.

  • Great point about taxing the financial service institutions vs. raising interest rates.

  • Taxes or interest - it matters not. It all flows to the exact same people. Please watch 'Money as Debt'

  • the banksters knew exactly what they are doing! the trick was to transfer wealth from the middle class to them. dictators dont want a strong middle class and the next thing will to come and get your guns. they are going to crash the economy that bad that you will be willing to give in your gun for food. AMERICA WAKE UP!!!

  • There is a rather large nationwide group of non-partisan folks you may wish to check out called the Oath Keepers whom are strictly constitutionalists and will protect the rights of the citizens. They are mainly comprised of military folks former and present, police, firemen and other civil servants.

  • Just right wing NO NO NO rantings.

  • are you referring to schiff? that would be wildly inaccurate then as anyone paying attention recognizes he also suggests alternatives and solutions.

  • In a few minutes Schiff explains things better than any TV news show or newspaper.

  • Bring back the Republicans?

Ron Paul, YES, for speaking truth to his lost party.

    The other 99%, HELL NO!

I will not support any candidate that sets the bar (LOW) at "Reagan".

"What would Reagan do?" = SELL OUT = status quo = going backward.

  • Peter, I think it would help to be more specific. GS made $12bn last year, paid $10bn to its employees, distributed $2bn to its shareholders (like me in my 401k) and paid $15m in taxes, after getting trillions in aid from government, their COO made tens of billions while the rest of us lost money.

This is the type of shit the voters are going to care about.

    Trash GS in every video.

  • Mama Mia what will it take?

Glub glub how long can we tread water...?

  • some incredibly intelligent (common sense) comments here, i feel there is little left for me to say. i wish you were in the uk peter, boy do we need someone like you here.

you look well, and you look ready. come on america, get peter in the senate!

  • YOU, are the only person

    Americans, should trust ! Schiff 2012 !!!

  • The problem with government is that they can't do their job, no matter what they do... Laws are made only to be broken, STOP GIVING THEM POWER BY PARTICIPATING IN THEIR SYSTEM. THEY HAVE MOLDED YOU TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE AND NOW THEY GET TO FUCK YOU BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW ANY OTHER WAY.

All you do, if you truly care about humanity and the rest of the world, is do nothing at all, think nothing at all, and persuade others to do nothing at all, "what if there was a war and no one came?"

  • based on comments: FoodorFail seems to have the right idea but stops short because he's trying to SAVE the country... a country which only exists in the mind of people...

I know this sounds crazy but we have to let go of the system itself... the only reason these people have power is because we're in agreement that they hold such power... Break through this belief and no one can govern you... And this is because freedom doesn't involve government... or any sort of control... FREE YOUR MIND

  • Getting back to the business of Gold and the Dollar...it seems Mr J Rogers gets a big kudo's for playing the US Dollar to the long side from 3-4 weeks ago. Now, today MAY be a blip on the screen, but the dollar index just regained key support as Gold slid back. If the dollar index is going to maintain the "fundamental" move it'd better do it soon. If we over take the 200MA, we're and hold, I'm moving to Jimmy's side of the fence. It will be interesting to watch.

  • Thanks, Peter. Appreciate the way you cut through the bull.

Seems our government is caught between a rock and a hard place.

On the one hand they need easy money to spur economic activity so they look good.

On the other hand they need to do something to prevent reckless investing so they don't look even worse.

They have to blame Wall Street for the meltdown because they can't admit their own culpability.

There's not a chance in hell that they will do the right things now.

    Lunacy for sure.

  • has anyone noticed more money taken out of their paycheck after the new year hit? according to my stubs, the federal gov't is taking 4 more dollars out of my paycheck for income tax. this is bs. i wish we someone like peter running in NJ.

  • Very good, as always :)

  • Outstanding Peter I'm delighted to see such high viewership of your 1 day old post. This is very encouraging.

  • Amen

  • Peter, have you heard about this thing with the Federal government going after the IRAs and401Ks

Forcing the management groups to buy a % of Federal savings bonds?

  • An internet handle is meaningless. A person's interests can be gleaned from the content of their favorited videos.

This guy MrHeavyDose is just spewing inane insults and never has any content to object to what Schiff is saying.

He just calls everyone al Hillbilly, a teabager, etc.

You certainly do not condone such grade-school antics?

    Do you?

  • Peter, you can't reason with the unreasonable, nevertheless I thank you for your continued persistence in trying. Yes, it's fourth grade logic to a lot of us too. Not all Americans are mindless sheep.

  • PLEASE CT Residents! Elect PETER SCHIFF for Senator!!

  • Fun for you maybe. Misunderstanding and grossly misrepresenting someone's stated views, and then glorying in your own folly? Hilarious, I'm sure: ignorance is bliss, as they say.

  • I agree with stcmsw102 and will say more.

You are not only grossly misrepresenting.

You are distorting and even outright LYING about Peter Schiff's views.

So keep on supporting the same political mainstream candidates and continue to marginalize those that want to stop the corruption like Peter Schiff.

People like you will have the destruction of this nation on your hands.

Make no mistake about it. This country WILL COLLAPSE if it continues on its current course.

  • I don't appreciate being called a liar. Please point out my alleged lies. I don't support ANY political candidates. I do not vote. I do not contract with thugs. You trust a highly successful investment banker to save you from the.... bankers? I am trying to help SAVE this nation. You, I presume, are merely trying to get rich or hold onto whatever 'wealth' you think you have.

  • @Fail,

If you get what Peter is saying then you would understand we don't need to be "saved" from the bankers.

We need to be saved from the idiot mandates of our legislators.

Bankers have a responsibility to try to get rich or at least make some profit.

The Government is supposed to make sure they play by the rules.

The Government is not supposed to mandate bad loans to clients who can't actually pay.

The Government is not supposed to be a banker.

Fannie and Freddie need to die.

  • (sigh)

  • @average, I agree with parts of your comment. Particularly the idiot mandates, and that Fannie and Freddie need to go. But I firmly believe that the biggest problem is the banks and the way they operate. Please watch 'Money as Debt'

  • Bravo Peter. Amazing how logic just completely escapes the "experts."

  • the government dont care they will just take the money from us,,,,WE THE PEOPLE ARE THERE PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT

  • Hi Peter,

Are you by any chance related to the Jacob Schiff who was involved in the Jekyll Island scheme?

  • Given his name and origin, he is probably related by some common ancestor since 1370, but he is not a descendant of JH Schiff, and nor, I think, of JH Schiff's father, Moses Schiff. You would be better off listening to and understanding Peter's point of view rather than concocting your own imaginary agenda for him based on his name and your own prejudices. You might even be pleasantly surprised by what you learn about him.

  • I have listened to his point of view. He is expert in calming the anxiety of those who dearly wish to hang on to worldy riches. He makes the hearts of 'patriots' beat faster by accusing thieves of thievery. He is not, however, calling for a full stop of the thievery. Why?

  • He has stated many times that the Federal Reserve has overstepped its authority and that it acts as a political instrument when it was specifically created to be an independent body. He has also discussed the harm that it is capable of causing, and has caused. However, sweeping changes such as abolishing all banks must be considered carefully. For example, without banks, credit is much more difficult to obtain. Incidentally, Peter mainly advocates holding physical gold, not gold certificates.

  • Also, I will add that the reason he suggests buying this gold through the Perth Mint is specifically because, when stored in Australian vaults, it is not liable to the kind of confiscation by the US government that you've virtually accused him of condoning. One is nevertheless able to take physical delivery at any time if one wishes; the gold exists and is in the vault, unlike with gold certificates in which it may not have been physically secured at the time of purchase.

  • Yes, but what if a confiscation occurs after a global currency has already been adopted? Please just think about it. Oh and, by the way, you can't eat gold. I'd like to take this opportunity to encourage you to start growing your own food and to support local growers. Currency runs out, bullets run out, but a wisely tended garden will last and feed you indefinitely.

  • This is the most intelligent comment I have ever seen on youtube ^_^

Get out of big cities and grow your own food!! There WILL be bread lines once again people! GROW YOUR OWN FOOD... and support those who provide this service...

DON'T RELY ON GOVERNMENT FOR ANYTHING...

  • I agree that "self-sufficiency" (in some sense) is important, but not necessarily that this has to be on the individual level rather than within a community. As such, while money (e.g. gold) may not have intrinsic value, it is still a useful economic tool in all but the bleakest scenarios. I understand that a society is possible in which economics has no meaning, but disagree that this is
