She is the face of dubstep, she championed it for years, fuck through her show 6 years ago i found a new love, so she goes to the States and talks shit, how is that repping the UK? I'm sure that if the first dubstep djs/producers in the States got together they could do a way better breakdown of how the scene progressed over there, they would at least know what they were talking about

Gotta agree with all the comments about hype - MAH never played any beats shit on her show before it was the media's flavour of the week. Lotus is a good artist, don't get me wrong, but he is far from being the figurehead of the LA beats scene, Mary Anne doesn't know what she's talking about and she'll prob just jump on the next bandwagon when it comes rolling by anyway.

The media build up artists like Lotus to get people to watch and listen to there shows and unfortunetly for artist like Lotus the end up being hyped out because they cant live up to the expectation, comparing him to jimi Hendrix being a prime example. OK she's not exactly pirate - but still manages to introduce a lot of material to people who otherwise wouldn't hear it. Of course R1 plays the corporate game but they do good stuff too. John Peels was one of the greatest radio shows ever; nobody told him what to play.
