  • This video clip looks fantastic. It's great to see candid shots of the actors. Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you so much for these little behind the scenes gems =D They're wonderful; please don't ever remove them.

  • The episode this is from is entitled "The Daemons". You may want to contact the BBC and let them know you have this footage. They may be very interested in it. Your video is the only color footage of this episode I have heard of. The only surviving copy of the episode is in black and white and your video shows what is must've looked like in true color. Thanks for posting it!

  • @cricket525252 this is actualy from a realy cheep dvd i got a few years ago from a poundland store in the uk, was called "30 years of the doctor" i think that was the title : /

  • @cricket525252 You are correct; this is indeed from The Daemons, however the complete serial survives in colour. An earlier Pertwee serial, The Mind of Evil, is entirely monochrome, as is the first episode of a later serial, Invasion of the Dinosaurs. Episode 3 of the serial Planet of the Daleks is colourised. Parts of the serial Ambassadors of Death exist in monochrome. The remainder of Pertwee's episodes exist in colour.

  • It's from the 'The Daemons'

  • Show some adventurism and make your own soundtrack.

  • @MickeyLove01 i.. lets not just risk the bbc banning the video, lets throw some music on it to

that way 9 in every 10 of you can say.. bad choice of music.. ide of used this instead : / LOL

  • @TheWraith They won't ban it as it has no soundtrack, as they show it too anyway. I suggested you be a little adventurous and make one. I promise I won't judge you, merely congratulate you on being creative.

  • @WilfHookem im not even sure were the original clip is, i uploaded this bk in 2007 :(

  • As Was posted origionaly, there is no sound present for this recording.Due to the fact that this appears to have been shot on Silent 8mm Colour Filmstock would be my best guess here.Have heard this was filmed by a village resident. This looks to be a VHS transfer to digital from the origional reel source.Believe this was featured in one of the Doctor Who fandom Reel Time releases.I hope this has been of some further assistance here!

  • I read the video description but still cannot get any sound...whats going on?

    (sorry, could'nt resist it :-) )

  • LOL

  • Why's there no sound, Wraith?

  • read the video description

  • I was in Aldbourne, more to visit it for it's WW2 connections on Easter Monday, 3 days ago.

Didn't realise this was 'Devil's End' in the Daemons before then! Nice surprise as it's one of my favourite Who's ever. :)

It's still recogniseable from this film too, little has changed, thankfully. Nice place with very friendly locals!! Worth a visit!

  • thanks for sharing i think it was call the deamons i love all this behind the cam stuff and am a big nerd when it comes to the doctor

and your right about people that don't read descriptions

  • its a shame they had the capability of recording over video back then :'(

its hard to belive just how much they probably wound back tape over to get something and wiped a moment wich is lost for ever

  • wow what great footage. both Jon and Roger are gone now, this was the classic Who era, Drs 1 and 2 were b&w, but it was Drs 3&4 which brought it into color and made it an international sucess. All the Drs are great, in their own way.

  • I was there in 1995. There was some new homes going up just outside the village green, but the heart of the village was still as it was in "The Deamons". This was Jon Pertwee's favorite episode. I met him 9 months before he died and he told me I should make the time to visit. There is a tomb in the church holding the remains of a young boy who died on H.M.S. Hood. The 506th of the 101st was stationed here before D-Day. Long live WHO!

  • The great thing about this village is that if you go there it has NOT changed one bit. If you go up the road on the right hand side of the church, there is a track that goes all the way to the Barrow (about 2 miles).

Its a very special place for Dr Who fans.

  • This is a truly great rarity - my favourite part being Roger Delgado in "Bessie" - seems so strange.

  • jon pertwee is simply the best doctor ever and will never be beaten

  • And Jon is on record as saying that this was his favourite Dr Who story.

  • Thanks for posting this!!!

  • So beautifully British! All that's missing is a Wall's ice-cream shop :)

  • where's aldbourne exactly? Presuming it's a real place, is it in derbyshire or somewhere like that?

  • aldbourne near wiltshire,

it shows up on google earth :D

  • Oh! I think I'll have a look, thanks

  • Bliss, thanks for posting.

  • excellenta cool

  • yes it is the daemons. 5-part closing story of season 8. looks like i qualify for the geeky fan.

  • lol

  • Isn't that from The Daemons? It's one of my favourite episodes!!

  • I heard the film was taken a friend of Roger Delgado's who he invited to watch the filming

  • WHY THERES NO SOUND?

And why can't you spell properly?

  • read the description, as for spelling, who cares : /

  • This would make a great extra on a DVD release of 'The Daemons'

  • Is this taken from the 30 Years of a timelord video?

  • sort of, same 30 year video production (but the DVD version not vhs)

  • Shot by a local 8mm enthusiast in Aldbourne, the village which appears on screen as Devil's End.

  • Lokks quite professional !. The master in shades !

  • yeah, i love the look of the master in sunglasses!!

  • It's from The Daemons
