"I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understandig ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor, because time and unforseen occurance befall them all"
That what happens (if you watch the classic series) when you want power and money. He died of sadness. That is the worst punishment for what he has done.
@gooo182 if you have even watched the third film, you would know that michael never wanted power, nor money. he fought for his family,he tried to make his business legit. he was named a don because they've killed his brother. before you start arguing with me about how the mafia is bad etc watch the movies
2 most emotional scenes in whole trilogy - this one and the scene when Michael confesses his sins and cries afterwards, plus the overall message of this 3rd part about regretting the sins, regretting the wrong way chosen and trying to turn to good, these things make the 3rd part my favorite one....
this scene, and the one where michael confesses to cardinal Lamberto, are by far the most powerful and emotional scenes in the movie. such classic. very beatuiful.
this is scene is so mindblowing, makes me feel really sad, what a great film! the trilogy of the godfather, only pacino cud've pulled off this scene the best :')
Talia Shire is kind of lucky. She only has to act whenever there's a "Rocky" movie or a "Godfather" movie being made. She gets long vacations in between.
i dont know why but i laughed at this scene. i think it was a combination of coppolas bad acting and everyone screaming that just made me laugh. im not proud of it.
never bought that the assasin missed Micheal, I always thought Mary was the target all along. Remember that this guy was the absolute best assasin in Silciy and they kept reminding us thru the movie that times had changed> at 1 time the Mafia would never think to target the women/children !what better way to destroy Micheal than to kill the 1 thing left in his life but his daughter everyone else had either been killed or deserted him
The Pacino suspended scream is so authentic and arresting. If you ever watch a child surprised by pain, there is a moment as they try to suck in air where they are dead silent before a cry escapes their mouth. How Pacino managed that very thing is amazing to me. Fine piece of acting. I always felt that Godfather III was great in its own way as part of the trilogy, though panned for some reason. I also feel like Sophia Coppola was unfairly maligned for her performance.
A lot of people didn't like the 3rd Godfather but as you can see in scenes like these, there are some parts that live up to the first two in every possible way. Al Pacino is the greatest actor who ever lived.
22 years past since i've watched Godfather 3 and i still cry every time i watch this scene.. Pacino the best actor of all time

he entered the "family" in order to save his family . but destroyed it in the process .

Corleone's body may have died at the end of the video from the heart attack; but inside, he was dead and gutted at 2:39.
